Why so dramatic, OBB?

Re: Why so dramatic, OBB?

  • And I got your point, I totally did. The issue was that in making your point you went from the generalized "you" to "the rude people on these boards." You made your point by once again calling out others.

Wouldn't calling out others be naming them, which I didn't do? Yes, I was giving an example to my point by saying even posters here are judgmental. I'm sorry if that hit a nerve or ruffled feathers. I'll make it more generalized: people, in general, are very judgmental when it comes to weddings and their ideas of what should and shouldn't be done. Not just here, but all over the world in many social circles, both on and offline. So in that regard, I don't blame the blogger for assuming she'd get flack for the choices she made about her wedding.

You don't have to name names to call someone out, especially when there's an entire group of people (who know you're referring to them based on other posts of yours) being discussed.

There ya go. Now everyone agrees.

    So this thread derailed.

I wish that article had covered a wedding I read about recently at a planetarium where the bride was Ren-era and the groom was Steampunk and just when the ceremony started the lights in the planetarium went out and when they came back on the bride, groom, and bridal parties acted out a play where the bride had been kidnapped by aliens and replaced with an evil clone, culminating in a light saber battle between the groom and the big bad to get his bride back and marry her.

THAT is some etiquette-approved yet risky shit.

Oh God this happened near my home town?  I am embarrassed.

  • Nothing I have done is trolling. I have contributed to ONGOING threads about the site. I have not posted new threads to bitch nor have I hijacked threads to bitch. I have replied to what was already here. Again, if you don't like my posts, use ignore. I certainly am.
Gawd, you're whiney. Whine whine whine. You know what I do when I don't like a forum? I fuck off to someplace I do like, instead of hanging out and posting tedious whining.

I'm just a fucking genius like that.

Is it safe to pop back up?

I wish OBB was more of this kind of stuff (even if I'm not sure how I would react to this if I was in attendance) and less "it's totally fine to do these eight incredibly rude things to your guest because you're different!" and their weird self-aggrandizement about every little slightly non-traditional but totally normal choice.

This is going to be my last post on this topic. I have already said that perhaps my comments should have been more generalized as to not point fingers at specific fingers. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and my opinion is that people giving advice on weddings, in general, can be rude and obnoxious about it. It doesn't make their opinion less valid, just their execution.

I am sincerely sorry for all the ruffled feathers. I will continue to express my opinion on this site as I do enjoy reading most of it, but I will no longer engage in this thread as I've said what I wanted to say and have listened to others say what they needed to say. There's just no point in going back and forth any longer, in my opinion, responding to every insult about being whiney or anything else, which is where we're at now. A clear sign there's not much left to be said. At least on my end.

    BOX

And yet, you manage both at the same time while contributing absolutely nothing worthwhile to anyone. You're far from the most interesting troll here.

Only one member in a year has bored me enough to make effort of pushing the ignore button. The rest of the whiners, trolls, and snowflakes aren't significant enough. They're just a never ending episode of Bridezillas or Jerry Springer. Fine for a moment's entertainment, but not worth caring about.

I think I heard a billy goat going trip trap trip trap over your bridge. I'm not certain. It's hard to hear from way up here.
