Beach-to Norfolk it is 7hrs46 minutes. That is totally doable.

Shan-I think it would be exciting, and fun, and so different!

<div>Ditto that. I know we're done with overseas though. H hated being so far away, he's so close to his family and so am I. As much as I think it would be so much fun to be overseas again, it would still be difficult for us not seeing family for so long. Although for our next duty station, I am at least hoping for Hawaii! It'll be like a vacay everyday! Hehe </div>

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Who's around? : Funny, we're opposite. H wants to go to Germany in three years but that's prime family starting time so I'm on the fence. But the easy travel is so enticing!

I just think its easier when they are so young. Its harder for H to take them away from the grandparents.

I think the hard part I would find with it is not having support from the grandparents when you need them, if needed (if that makes sense). But I also think its totally doable and that you're right, when they are young, it won't affect them to move as much as when they are like 12.

</div><div>Really? I've heard differently. One of our buds is there right now and he LOVES it there. I guess we'll just have to see and find out? People stationed in the Japan were like that it, it's either they loved it or hated it. We're just really hoping to get back on the West Coast, our choices are there, CA, or WA. Any one would do for us.

Thanks for asking Irish!  I'm alright. Still can barely move my left side of my face and feel like a freakazoid. But I'm okay. Probably making a bigger deal out of it emotionally than what it is.. but yeah. I'm on some medicine now so hopefully it helps me get back to normal fast!

FI and I have talked about moving over seas for Sea Duty. I think it'd be awesome. It's very rare for his rate but I would love to. I've gotten so independant lately with being away from family (granted, its only been 9 months) but.. I think I would be able to hack it. And I agree with Shan, I think itd be a lot more doable/easier to do it when kids are much younger, versus older.

Nope not really - they said I could of been bitten by a tick (where I ride there are tons of them) but I've never seen one on me, and we couldnt find a rash indicating a bite. They said it could be something viral which is why they gave me antibotics. Other than that they don't know. They asked if we had traveled lately, which we did to KY. I keep joking FI that his sisters not only made me sick (his one sister had strep!!) but they paralyized half of my face because they stressed me out so badly. LOL. Kind of mean but I don't care.

AMH glad to hear you're doing better.  What is your H's rate?

If we did an overseas tour I would have wanted it to be on this one now, but even that I didn't want.  Once we have kids I definitely want to be in the continental US, and at least be able to talk with family like normal.  My parents would probably kill us if we went overseas with kids.  You would have thought we got stationed overseas when we got orders here to WA.  I am happy to have kids in VA (hopefully) though since we are in the same time zone as family and are an easily doable drive home.

Ggirl that drive is definitely doable!  You may even be able to find a cheap flight too into Norfolk.  I think this definitely needs to happen!

Amh: I saw on the other thread you were given steroids? Just wanted to warn you, they usually make people gain weight and your wedding is less than 3 months away. My mom used to always complain about taking steroids when her doc would put her on them.
