  I'm in the minority here, but chairs aren't required in my opinion. I'm a notary officiant and have done several outdoor, standup ceremonies. They worked out fine. The couples asked ahead of time who would definitely needed to sit and had volunteer family members carry those chairs in and out. If the waterfalls have significance to you don't let this chair issue make you change the venue. If you are in and out in 30 minutes, most people can handle it. They should support you and understand why you want to be married at that location.

  You're wrong, and your opinion is also wrong.  Not everyone is comfortable to admitting to medical problems as well.  It's never okay to use "IT'S MY DAY" as an excuse to treat your closest friends and family rudely and poorly.

  As a notary attending the wedding, you know for a fact that every couple queried their entire guest list to offer each, individual guest a chair? And you were able to read every single guest's mind that zero people had a problem with this? And you further have knowledge that not one person at the event was uncomfortable? 

  
  

  If you answered yes to all of those questions, screw the notary profession! You should really get yourself a crystal ball and set up shop as the best psychic in town.

  Ask my mom how she felt after standing for 30 min for my brother's wedding ceremony. She was sore for hours and she is a body pump instructor in good shape. Please don't make guests sore. Every guest needs a seat.
