Invites going out tomorrow!

Hello all,

Just wanted to see when everyone was sending out invites. My 8 week mark is this Saturday but we will be out of town so we are sending them out tomorrow!

I am excited and can say that this is making things real!

Also...I am only sending out 93 invites, but jeeze just sealing and stamping those things too an hour and a half!

Re: Invites going out tomorrow!

  • We sent ours out the second week of July. A little early etiquette-wise but I was getting daily phone calls from my mom ("k you really need to send those out? Have you mailed them yet? Let me help you mail them,") and FI was getting twice weekly voicemails from his brother ("hey are you guys sending out invitations or what? It's kinda rude, people need to plan their lives... If jennyleigh is in charge of it you should kick her ass in gear...") We just wanted the nagging from people who don't understand etiquette to stop.

  • I sent mine out yesterday, for a 9/12/15 wedding.  We did STDs in February as well.

My MOH made most of my invite, and I was in charge of the inserts.  Getting the inserts printed, then cutting them, putting them in the card pocket, then adding the outside ribbon and putting them in the envelope took me 7 hours on Sunday.  I had 110 invites.  I was ready to just throw them by the time I was done LOL

  • We sent ours out early (I know I know, bad etiquette) but our venue requires final numbers a month in advance, so by August 12, and we knew some people would require a lot of prodding so we had to give ourselves time. We've already had 90% of people RSVP and are just waiting on a couple people who need extra time to figure out transportation.

I know that its frowned upon to have them go out so early and require an early rsvp date but I am actually really glad that my venue requires a months notice. FI is away for the 3 weeks leading up to the wedding so this allows us to get 99% of wedding stuff done before he goes so I am not completely losing my mind while he is away.

  • We sent ours out at the beginning of the second week in July as our wedding is OOT for both FI and I and our guests. We've received about 50% of our RSVP's already. Im praying we don't have to chase many people down but they have until Aug 18th so we will see!

Mine went out last week....I was early too. Got a call from FI today saying that we got about 10-15 in the mail today! Can't wait to see them tomorrow.

We are off to get out Marriage Licence tomorrow.....which is my nightmare item. Keep dreaming that I forget to get it.

  • We sent ours out first week in July since we need a full count by August 1.  Our wedding is Sept. 5, and we've gotten over half of them back so far!  @tj&cw I just found out a while ago my fiance laminated his SS card.  So now I'm going to have to call the courthouse to find if they will still accept his card to get our marriage license or if he is going to have to get a new card.  He didn't think to mention that until yesterday!

varner2b2015----in Cali we just needed our drivers licence. It was a very fast process for us.

I am actually really impressed with our friends with the RSVP cards...they are coming in a lot faster than I thought that the would.

  • For our Sept. 26th wedding we just sent out our invites on Sunday.
And we have got 3 RSVPs back already. ^^

  • Just sent mine on Tuesday...less traffic at the P.O. and they were more than happy to hand cancel them! I agree that they took some time piecing together, reading articles on how to stuff them correctly, waiting for the nice postage to arrive, and printing custom labels to make them stand out. I can't stand that the postage rate went up after I had already purchased the proper amount of postage as it totally threw the look and feel off of my invites. Oh well, who looks at postage anyways?! After all was said and done it took me a little over two weeks to create, design, print, order, stuff everything. Not too bad, just glad it's done! @britneydel we are date twins!

You should probably blur out the names and address of the person that invite was addressed to.

Your teapot looks a lot better than the grumpy penguins they made me add to mine!

Ftorour 9/26 wedding, we sent out invites on Sat, 7/25.  We've already gotten about 45 RSVP's back.  We invited 170.
Since I wrote all of the shower than you notes, FI assembled and mailed all of our invites out :)
