My work sends out confidential surveys once or twice a year to gauge how we feel the company is doing. Every time they ask a bunch of questions about how we feel we perform and how we feel our coworkers perform and only a few about management so this time I ripped off the page of identifying information (department/role/branch) and added a single typed sheet that said:

You asked 12 questions about employee performance and only 3 about management.

My boss is one of the three owners.

Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries is a show from Australia set in the 20s in Melbourne. Phryne Fisher is a socialite turned private detective who solves murder cases along with the dashing police detective and the help of her lady's maid, Dot. It's actually kind of a cheesy show but the costumes and sets are gorgeous, and it's one of those shows you can watch while doing other things... pretty lighthearted considering the subject matter. Add me to the list of people who enjoy nights away from their SO. I love H, don't get me wrong, but a girl needs time to herself. We got in a huge argument tonight so he went to his parent's house to cool off. Can't say that I'm upset - I spent the night power cleaning the house, listening to whatever music I wanted, and am now snuggling my pup. Much better space now to make up when he gets home.

Ughhhhh I hear ya. When H and I combined finances, he had $675 in overdraft fees on one year. It wasn't that he was broke, he just wasn't paying attention. So frustrating to just throw away money.

I just cannot fathom NOT MISSING TWO GRAND!

And he just opened this account in December, who knows how much went missing from the old one!

this happened to me too.

my confession: I want to call my mother and cuss her out. Her ex boyfriend came to a family members house today high as fuck. He was banging the windows and doors making threats and calling us names. this went on for 45 min. because the cops wouldn't show up.. I was scared, I had my little ones in the house. She finally got a restraining order, (the irony is she was at the courthouse when all this went down.) I've been telling her to break it off and get something from the court for months but she says " you're not my mother you can't tell me what to do !!". Of coarse she doesn't care what she puts the family through and yelled at me again. There is only so much I can take. So instead of arguing, I'm going to distance myself until she gets her shit together. I swear I have more grey hair because of the stress I was under today. Thank God no one was hurt and he was arrested.

Loved ones of addicts often become addicted to the addict themselves. Lovingly detach from your mom until she learns how to detach from her boyfriend. It sucks. I'm going through something similar now. (hugs)

I watched like 6 episodes straight while assembling my invitations. I can get FI to watch some of "my" shows with me, but no way would he go for Miss Fisher LOL

@jenna8984 I think my name is amazing as well since it came from a fantastic show. As for an intro well I'm 30, live in IL. Work in a factory for big yellow as a buyer. Lurked for a few months before I commented or posted anything as that is what was suggested by all of you fantastic people and was a smart move as far as I'm concerned.

Confession: I am going to watch some Miss Fisher this weekend thanks to y'all. I've had it recommended on Netflix because I watched all the Miss Marples (woo!) and Rosemary and Thymes (so cheesy, but fun!). So I'm going to start another fun mystery series.

Second confession: H and I stayed up until 2 am last night watching Back to the Future 3 on AMC. Boy does work suck today and I've barely been here an hour...

@jenna8984 Team mayo, Hellmans to be exact. I have a fondness for cobly jack and also goat cheese with balsamic reduction on crunchy bread. I'm a food addict myself. Made a certain meal for dinner last night just so I could make this fanastic garlic bread (not the stuff with the yellow paste on it) that is ready to bake from the store. I ate the whole loaf, sans the piece I let FI have.

FI has a food addiction too. We went to Madison last year with some friends and had the most amazing carnita fries and craft beer. Like to die for and we are making that same trip again next month just so we can have them again. And that the the B&B we stayed at gives you free breakfast at the resturant next to it. So prime ribs and eggs with a screwdriver and I only pay for my drink? Yes please.

Confessions: While most teachers love having the summers off, I secretly hate it because I get so bored sometimes, but the moment I go back, I wish it was summer. Though I'm sure next summer will be different since I'll have a LO to be home with.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians are my guilty pleasure. I only watch when no one is home.

Hey! I've posted a few times here but mainly lurk .... I recognize a few people here.

Confession 1 - I had half a can of clam chowder for breakfast, and rest for lunch. (bad idea, don't do that! too heavy!)

Confession 2 - I have done a week's worth of work in a day and half because I have felt like doing ZERO this week.

Confession 3 - everytime M brings up groceries - which is typically while checking out or at the store - over the fact "we don't plan meals" i want to grab the nearest heavy thing and beat him senselessly while yelling "I ASK YOU A WEEK IN ADVANCE! STFU"

I love him, but honestly to fucking gawd .... *snarl*

Ahahaa .... that took a dark turn, sorry!

I said the same thing. Then he went on this huge rant about how they won't reproduce or eat anything else besides the one super rare thing to save their species. It totally made sense to me. I'm on board too. They're big dumb idiots.

My other confession is that I'm glad we're not having kids, because they would get teased. J and I were both (cute) chunky kids, and J never outgrew his chunk. Kids are mean, and I'm glad my kids don't have to deal with that.

FI and I always joke that our kids are doomed and we will have to teach them to have thick skin right from the beginning. Im full on ginger and FI has a ginger beard so there is a likely chance that our kids will

a) Be Ginger

b) Be one giant freckle

c) Be Allergic to life (FI is)

d) Be raised by two dorky parents.

My MOH/BFF's sister is driving me nuts. MOH adopted a baby in July. Before the adoption occurred I volunteered to help co-host a shower. Sister decided earlier this week that she wanted to do it next weekend. Sister and I were supposed to meet up last night to discuss details but sister cancelled. We agreed that she would do the invites and decor (because it's at her family member's house) and I would do the food. Now I get a text from her saying we should move it to the end of August so she has more time to send out invitations etc.

At this point, I don't even want to help. Her sister is soooo flaky and pretty ungrateful (I spent an entire weekend at her house a few years ago to help get them packed up before they lost their house to foreclosure and she never even thanked me) and were my wedding not in a month, I would just volunteer to take the whole thing over. My MOH has been so awesome to me though (she voluntarily hand made all my invitations, threw me an awesome shower, and has just been a huge help, not to mention she's been a good friend to me for years). So I'm refraining from freaking out on her sister for not getting her shit together. I told her any weekend this month is fine but after that I'm out, unless it gets moved all the way to the end of September.
