I can't picture what to do with my pictures

Dear Prudence,
About a decade ago I married my college sweetheart. My new mother-in-law was extremely frugal, so instead of the full-expense photo package, I bought a selection of photos I planned to make into an album myself. I never got around to making the album, and my plan lasted longer than the marriage. My now-ex repeatedly cheated on me and ultimately walked out on me and our two kids. I recently found the photos and the empty album. I’m moving and don’t want to bring them to my new home. But I don’t know what to do with them. I’m on good terms with my former mother-in-law, but she has Stage IV cancer and the album would just bring her pain. Should I give the photos to my ex, with whom I’m fairly amicable? Toss them? Save them for our kids?

    How does frugal MIL = DIY wedding album if the OP was paying anyway?

    eh, I try not to be super frivolous w/ money among some cheap people, because it makes them uncomfortable.
    But I"m tightfisted raised by tightfisted.

    (If Mrs. Conn really wanted advice, I'd say that all of my mom's siblings have treasured copies of the only wedding pic of their folks.  Because while they divorced messily, her dad's attempts to get the picture destroyed was interpreted by the kids as trying to erase that part of his life--and they kinda felt like them existing was a direct result of that part of his life...so it was iportant.

    I took it as MIL paid for pics and this was what DIL picked out w/in that budget.

    Keep the pics in an envelope to give to kids when they get older.  It might be important to them.  Throw the empty album away.

    Save them for the kids! I have my parent's wedding album and even though they are divorced it is so special to me!
