Wedding Woes

Good morning

How was the weekend?

Ours was OK.  We went to BIL and SIL's in Cincy.  BIL, DH, and the kiddo went to play tennis.  SIL, DefConn, and I went to Ikea. We went down to the city market for lunch.  Yesterday, DH and BIL went mountain biking and then we went to brunch.  After brunch we came home.

Everyone was in kind of a shitty mood yesterday and the kids were extra annoying.  SO our night kind of ended in a crappy way.  Ah well.

Saturday DH took the kids to soccer and I went to get a picture framed.  Then I took the kids to the pool and DH did yard work.  I had some girls over for deck drinks Saturday.  It was fun, but I paying in mosquito bites today.

Sunday was fishing then an afternoon at the pool.  We have soccer tickets for Saturday night.  DH said maybe we could pawn the kids off on his parents for the weekend and we could have a date night.  I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

This week is busy- soccer, curriculum night, steering committee crap, dinner and training for upcoming school year, getting our zoning and building permits straightened up.  Yet, this morning I'm driving an extra 20 mins (one way) to save $20 on a toy.

  • It was good, but short.  Wooz and I got our nails did first thing Saturday a.m.  Her pedi was a lot quicker than mine, so she talked me into getting her a mani as well.  She wore flip-flops all weekend so she could see her fancy toes.

Last swim class of this session, and Wooz was pretty disappointed that she wasn't moving up.  Still struggling with breaststroke, and I'm not much help there.

DS has been a little chatterbox.  I kind of want to "in your face!" his Toddler 1 head teacher, but she meant well, and I'm the one who let it rattle me, anyway.  I still think he needs to work on his enunciation, but he's making such rapid gains that I'm just gonna assume he'll get there.  And then if he doesn't, we'll take it from there.

Got a random email from DD's bestie's mom yesterday a.m. for an impromptu playdate yesterday afternoon.  So Wooz was delighted, and DH and I squeezed in some BCBC while she was there and DS was napping.

S/O, DS woke up from his nap with a random fever of 101.5.  It was 101.7 by bedtime, but he seemed fine.  This morning, he was 98.6 on the dot.  ???

Leaving early today, and then I just have Tues. and Wed. at work this week.  Not that I'm keeping track.  ;)

I'm getting continuous updates from the Disney trip.  No proposal yesterday, it seems.  My mother said she had the best meal of her life at California Grill, and then rode Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain at 11:40 and 11:55, and didn't make it out of the Magic Kingdom until after midnight.
  • We had a busy one. Trip back to Tulsa to see some family in from OOT. My cousin and his wife haven't been back since my Aunt died 2 years ago, so we didn't want to miss them. Hauled ass back to OKC yesterday for a rare beer bottle share. 12 of us spent 6 months buying/trading for hard to find stuff. Lot of old lambics & sours. Good times, just a TOTAL cheat on y diet. Have to get my dress fitted this week.

Last night we went to look at a couple of houses and we found one we love. Making an offer this morning (because why not add one more thing to our plate 44 days before our out-of-state-wedding???). It's super cute and doesn't need any work though and we've had a hard time finding much in the areas we like. They get snatched up really quickly.

I'm pissy today because I have a huge painful zit just to the right of the bridge of my nose. It's an odd place for a zit, and it's making my face swell under my eye.
  • I had a good weekend.

    Birthday party and some shopping.

I saw Straight Out of Compton, along with 9 out of 10 Black people in America. I'm surprised Hollywood hasn't caught on that we will support a movie that we want to see. Anyway, It was good, especially if you grew up in the 80's and liked hip hop.

Confession: I didn't go to the suburban theater because I wanted audience commentary and they did not disappoint.

Confession #2: I was surprised I knew so many of the words to the songs since my parents didn't allow me to buy their albums. I do remember not being able to go anywhere without hearing them, though, so there's that.
