  • Also not new. I was born in suburban Chicago and I live about 15 feet from the house I grew up in, lol.

  • I'm not new. I live in Alaska. Pretty sure I'm the only one. Once in awhile a newbie comes through but none who stick around, it seems like. The Alaska board hasn't been used in literally years. Except for a couple posts/announcements by KnotRiley with no comments, there hasn't been a post since August 2013.
  • So, I am new..(just kidding)...I am from San Francisco but I live in Boston.
  • Also not new. Central Mass, 1 hour from Boston or Providence RI. I have also lived 4 months in Alabama and 3 years in Arizona.

  • Not new but I live about 45 minutes east of Baltimore, MD.

  • I'm not new either but I was born and raised and still live in NC. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else.

  • Not new here either, but I live in the Finger Lakes area of NY - so not really Western NY and not really Central NY.

Sorry to threadjack here, but DH and I are visiting Asheville in October. Any recommendations for places to eat/things to do? We were thinking of doing a food tour.

I actually live about 3 or 4 hours from Asheville. Whenever we've gone in the past we like to tour some of the breweries. Asheville Brewing Co. is one of the most popular and had a good tour. The downtown area is always a good bet. The bars have live music, good beer, and good food. I would also reccommend to go to Biltmore if you haven't before.

  • Metro Detroiter here as well!  It actually is a much nicer, cooler place than you hear about in the news:).

I knew I liked you, Robin Sparkles.  We're moving just outside of Lethbridge in a couple of weeks.

  • @mrscomposer Good luck with your move! I'm in calgary. One of my friends moved to leth for school and actually loves it, which she was not expecting. If you see any Taber corn, snap it up! You'll be close by and its amazing.

  • Not new either, but I like finding out where people are from. I'm from Woodstock- Feeley's town (hi!) and currently live in Chicago. I'm a Sox fan living a stone's throw from Wrigley Field, so, that's fun.

We're having Taber corn for dinner tonight (with chicken too).  It's the only time we eat corn on the cob.

And yes, my BFF loved Lethbridge.  She was there for Uni too.   She's in Yellowknife now though, which she likes even more.

We made lime chili butter corn on the cob on the bbq, and when we ate it, I had to check if there was any sugar in the rub, because it was so sweet! Delicious...

Lots of Chicagoans!  I didn't mention it, but I lived in Chicago from 21-28.  I call it my "second hometown".  My real hometown is not nearly as fun... Visalia, CA (central valley).

  • Whooo! Glad to see fellow Canadians :)

Not new, but from Ottawa, Ontario here :) and just like rest of this country, it is stupidly humid here.

A SUX, I mean SOX fan?!  NOOOOOOOOO!  (Hi!)
  • From Wildwood, IL...living in OH! Moved there for the US Coast Guard and met my FI at work :)
  • Not new, but also not a frequent poster. Downtown Boston.

I grew up just north of Red Deer - Taber corn was the best part of summer up there, too (along with BC fruit).  My parents and siblings have lived in the Lethbridge area for the past six years.  I love it there.  Can't wait!
