Re: August 2015 Brides

  • Hey Cesarsbride! That is cool we are getting in the 12th also!

The groom and I get in on the 12th, so our first night is just us! Time to get our minds in wedding/vacation mode! Then family and friends start arriving the next day.

Lately, I've been trying to find things for everyone to do the day after the wedding. I have a lot of family members not leaving till Tuesday so we want to do some site seeing on Monday. We've thought about Grand Canyon or Hoover Dam but IDK.

Generally you won't need a rental car for strip site seeing, but since we have family scattered throughout the strip in hotels and the private estate, we are thinking maybe rent car?

Does anyone suggest renting a car?

And yes, we honestly just said screw it and stopped pinching every dollar counting it. We pay a LOT off as we go, so ya know, lets have fun!!
  • hmgiffor,

That sounds AMAZING! We would love to take a cruise...that is def. on our wish list.

But since we will be in Vegas for a week then few days down time when we get home (plus the two two days we took before) that is our "vacation" time through our jobs :(

It's okay though, I graduate from the BSN program in May 2017, so it gives us 2 years to save and have our dream honeymoon/celebration!
  • What we did was just tell people to meet us at a certain location and time and those that wanted to meet us did and those who wanted to do their own thing did. We did the same for the pool...we just got a cabana and told people to meet us at a certain time. Several guests came and it was a blast :)

If you just provide optional things, then some will join and others don't feel obligated and can still do their own thing.

For the day after our wedding here is what we are doing:

I believe we're going to Bacchanal Buffet for brunch with our immediate families and will let guests know in case they want to join. (Non hosted)

We have a poolside cabana at Rehab and guests may join us if they like.

After the pool party I'm done for the day. I think I need that evening to rest since my bachelorette party is the night before the wedding.

Oh yeah, I actually booked a honeymoon cruise yesterday leaving from California since we'll be on the west coast already. Total change of plans but I'm excited to have that alone time.
  • @jswedding0916, I would strongly recommend skipping the rental car. It's going to be significantly more headache than it's worth.

Get a bus pass ($7 a day or $20 for 4 days or something like that). The Express runs up and down the strip every 10 minutes or so, and the Deuce runs just after that (stopping at all the hotels). You'll see so, so, so more that way (some drivers even spout out trivia), and you won't feel guilty about grabbing that martini on the casino floor (just because it's OK to have open containers doesn't mean it's OK to drink and drive!)

Getting a rental car is just going to bring you from seedy looking parking garage to seedy looking parking garage, and you won't get any of the glamour of the strip. Grab a taxi from airport to hotel and back and wear some very comfy shoes, and you'll be good to go!

We won't have a car but my MOH and her husband will. I honestly think it will be a great help to me though because we're at the same hotel. I need to pick up tuxedos and a few boxes from FedEx when I arrive. (Imagine me carrying 9 tuxedos in a taxi) But other than that, I think I would be ok without a rental. Do you have any errands to run when you arrive?
  • We had a car and it was helpful when we first arrived so we could go pick up our license, get my nails done off-strip and pick up our bridal party at the airport. After the first 2 days, we didn't use it again.

  • Yeah, we opted for the first 3 days.

We have family/friends to pick up at airport, shopping at SAM's for the alcohol/party needs, and tux fitting. FH family rented a private estate off the strip about 10 minutes out. So, we will have trips there back and forth and we are staying in two hotels...so it seemed like worth it. Once we are downtown, should be no problem. We chose to get it for those first 3 days at least so we can run the errands and get all our stuff together and not deal with cabs and waiting!

I agree, any other time we are in Vegas, a car is so not needed, but sooo much to do to get it all organized I need that freedom!!
  • My flight leaves in the morning! I can't believe it's finally here.
  • that is awesome! So does ours! (well in the afternoon).

I think I'm about wedding out...well the getting everything together such as centerpieces and so forth.

What is etiquette caesar bride....after the wedding and when we get home do we send the coordinator tips, or do I give it before we leave?
