Re: A little part of me died inside when..

  • Maggie0829 is valid - if you are outraged over this, what about every single other phrase involving death or dying?  People say "you're killing me" all the time, is that offensive? What about "I just died when she said...."? And all the other ones Maggie mentioned?

    Whether you consider it one or not, "A little piece of me died inside" is a very commonly used phrase, and it is not offensive to 99.99% of the population.  For example, a little piece of me dies every time someone uses the wrong form of your/you're or their/they're/there.

    @blushingbride8888 - you're all good.

    Totally off topic.  Your title offends me.  I thought this was going to be a sad story about something tragic in your family.  Please don't be a drama princess.
    You wanna talk about death.......?

    What? No. That's absurd. It's a common figure of speach. It would be horrifying to say a little part of you died . . . when your mom died.

    A little part of me dies every time I run out of the fancy coconut water.

    I'm in love with this.

    I buy the young Thai coconuts by the case at the Asian store down the street. Fresh coco water and the soft meat makes an excellent breakfast!
