Wedding Woes

Taking a lunch break and have to share

I am sure some of you recall I live next to an in home daycare. Oh, and that she thinks we are horrible people, but whatever.

I am sitting out back, stripping a dresser I found on CL. The kids are out next door. I can hear neighbor lady talking to someone, likely her sister who helps "watch" the kids.

Like an hour in to play time, a younger one starts screaming, so they take him in. But I can still here neighbor talking to her sister.

Then I hear "Mom, mom the baby is choking!"

Her daughter was inside with the baby.

Her response "Is he coughing or choking?"

"Well, he makeing noises like 'ghghgghough."

"Oh, he's fine then."

It didn't sound like anyone actually went inside for another few minutes, I heard them talking again right away.

I've always had a feeling the supervision was subpar.

  • And yet they're concerned about your vicious pit bull.  How is Tilly, by the way?
  • She is doing well, unfortunately, she and Sarge aren't getting along, so we are on a crate and rotate routine, working to settle them both. They have such similar personalities that I think they just clash.
  • i love that mom paused long enough to question "coughing or choking?"

  • I'd report them. Though let's be honest, this probably isn't their only violation.

  • I think "coughing or choking" is a fair question, since it pretty much determines what you need to do next.  However, in either case, "what you need to do next" is NOT ignore the kid and carry on as if everything is fine.
  • Stories like this terrify me.  Looking for a daycare is scary and stressful.
