My work phone is apparently invisible. I feel like every time I'm on the phone, people are trying to talk to me. I point at my phone and they start whispering to me.

shut. the. fuck. up.

What's irrationally bugging you today?

I feel like I'm waiting for a bully, it's so weird! As if this doesn't suck enough :-p

I wonder how the fuck my twin brothers are related to me.

So we are meeting in NYC next week as a surprise for my mom.  I've already complained about the one brother.  He is still be irritating and non-communicative even though my dad is paying for their trip.   Via, my sister actually.   My dad can't pay for the trip yet because my mom has access to the accounts.  So my sister is floating the costs, because my brother can't even do that.

Anyway, brother#1 has a twin brother who has a junior in college.     Because of exams or labs or something she was going to fly in late Friday night.  They never asked me specifically, but from the grapevine I heard they were gong to ask if she could stay in our hotel Friday night.   (brother and rest of the family is coming in on Saturday am).   Fine, no problem, we will make it work.     We are 10 days out at this point and no word.  Yesterday he finally answered my text if she is coming in Friday or not. He said, she is flying in on Friday, but not sure the times.    (although now that I think about it, they never actually asked if she could stay with us)

Now on a sidebar, we have a friend who works for the hotel company we are staying at.  We got a great deal and she is trying to hook us up, but I need to know if I need a rollaway bed or not.

This morning brother#2 text me.    Get this, the flights doubles in costs so  they are putting her on a bus to NYC.  WTF dude?  Isn't not shocking prices jumped so close to the departure time.

So asked what time is she arriving and where is she going when she arrives.   Umm, 6:30 am.   And he had not thought about where she is going to go.

Okay, I'm not going to allow my 21 year old niece roam the streets of NYC at 6:30 am so yep, she is coming to my room and wait until the rest of the family arrives.

Now I'm not as big of a planner as my sister.  She has dinner reservations made 9 months out.  But damn. how about a little planning when you are traveling with 17 people and expect other to help you out with some of the details?  How hard is that?

    I keep saying:

this is for mom.  This is for mom.  I can survive hanging with my brothers for a day for my mom.  Yep, I can do this.

My sister added in bar time between events to help us get through this :p

This sums up how I feel whenever we are planning something with H's family.  They're all very last minute, no real planning ahead kind of people and it drives me nuts.  I just always tell myself "This is for H, this is for H" as he really loves the time we get to spend with his family.

I'm gunna punch this broad in the face.

My coworker is very....what's the word....narrow-minded and ignorant. No gray area. She says she "can tell" when people are gay by their voices and just other dumb antiquated shit.

She's the assistant of the financial planner in the office. She just told me about a time a client came in with his new girlfriend to move some money around after he'd been widower-ed. She described the girlfriend as a "cute young thing - you know" and apparently dug around in some shit and found that the wife had committed suicide. She said "I'm sure this woman was the reason for it..".

I tried to tell her how offensive that is from all sides and now she thinks I'm the ass.

Yes.    My sister is a super planner.    My brothers do not plan shit.   DH and I are in the middle.

If we are traveling with others we are on top of planning.   Coordinating 17 people traveling to NYC is not something you can just plan last minute. Well you can, but it often ends up costing you more.  17 people just walking into a restaurant for dinner doesn't really work well.  17 people wanting to sit together at a Broadway show often requires a little planning.

If we are traveling just ourselves we do not plan as much.  We like to be flexible.  We need a hotel room on Nov 1 (early flight the next morning.)and I haven't even booked it yet.   There are always rooms near the airport, the costs do not vary much. I'm not concerned.

Now if I was traveling with other people, then yeah, I would be more on top of getting those room booked already.

Sometimes my ILs are not very thoughtful and it really hurts DH. We got a text yesterday that IL's dog was not doing well. He was old, blind, and diabetic so turns in health aren't super surprising. I actually texted H about whether he wanted to go over and visit the pup since there didn't seem to be much time. He wasn't sure but got an email from FIL saying they weren't up to visitors.

Then I get home, go on Facebook, and see a post from MIL saying RIP Puppy. Apparently they actually put him down without telling us it was going to happen, that it had happened, or letting H have a chance to say goodbye. This dog had been in their family long enough that H was a teen when they got him, he cared to say goodbye. H works from home, he could have taken off during the day to see the puppy and called it a lunch break.

I'm just so sad it happened to H and pissed about the way his parents handled it. I really, really wanted to write them a passive-aggressive email last night about how much they hurt their son. But I resisted. Now I just guess we have to deal. And it super sucks that it's happening while dealing with the recent death in my family. There's no escaping death and sadness for the next few days.

123 people is still a lot of people.  We invited 200 and 128 actually showed up (132 RSVP'd yes).  I was SO GLAD that more people didn't come (as bad as that sounds) as the table arranging was already stressful with the 132, and I felt a bit overwhelmed by trying to say hi and talk to everyone.  I still missed some people because every time we tried to do table visits, someone else would pull us over to talk to them.  So be glad you only have 123!!

Our final head count was 150 out of 219 invited, and that included 3 +1s of single guests who weren't originally part of the 219 but whom we welcomed after it became clear that we would have room.  I'm so glad we didn't have the 170-180 we were originally expecting.  150 meant that we had room in the budget for a late night snack and our dance floor was way more comfortable than it would have been with 4 extra tables in the room.  123 is a great number!  I know it's hard not to be bummed over all the declines--I was bummed too--but try to look at the bright side.

I went to the eye doctor last week.  Tired new contacts.  I hate them.  They feel fine, it's just I can't see my computer well anymore.

I'm going back today, but I leave next week for vacation and really need to get it sorted out.  I HATE my glasses and they are so old they are not the right script anyway.

My whine is that I have my period and my ovaries hurt. I am chugging the Ibuprofen.

BUT yesterday I got the last of my new appliances installed and after what feels like plenty of drama this year, I have no more condo improvements to make! Bathroom and kitchen both got a face-lift and I'm thrilled with the results.

(I do have to repair one wall in the bedroom before putting the joint up for sale next year, but that's repair work, not improvements. I'm done with improvements. Woo hoo!)

Yea I'm wondering that too. If 123 are coming that sounds pretty great to me, I had about a 50% decline rate (Invited 70 have 38 yes's and a couple possibles still straggling) so I understand that it hurts when people decline. To make it worse my mom keeps talking about people who are going to my brothers wedding and how excited they are to make it a family vacation... I guess they like my brother more than me or something b/c they all declined my wedding... and she doesn't seem to realize that yea my feelings are hurt and no I don't think "it's so great" or even worse no I don't want to join in on the giant cabin you are all getting, my FI and I like our space and will get a room at the hotel.

@arrrghmatey Costco has a big giant thing of them.

A manager asking me (on my lunch break) to send them an idea for an event at work. After my lunch break I immediately went into 3 back-to-back meetings. Saw the manager on my way out of the 3rd meeting, "Got that idea ready for me?" Uh, no... I've been doing my job all afternoon, actually. Hate that because I'm the one who comes off as not following through.

H just told me he blocked the dudes posts because he got too annoyed with them LOL

Sunday was Eagles VS Jets.  I'm Eagles, DH is Jets.  As you can figure out, most of my family are Eagles fans, his Jets.

I posted Rumble in the [last name] household today.      I didn't even tag DH.

I moved to a new area at work and one of the new coworkers I sit by comes in every single day complaining about her young kids and how hard it is because they don't behave, etc, etc, etc.  She told me the first day I sat by her "Don't worry, sitting next to me is great birth control" but then she'll ask me after complaining about kids when DH and I are having kids.  She's now asked me this several times.  I. Don't. Understand. People.

    I am having 3..

I just had to explain to the same coworker that ground meat doesn't come off the animal like that. That ground meat is regular meat that has been put through a meat grinder. How does one live for 57 years without understanding that?
OMG really.. what part would be the ground meat part I wonder..

I have had to explain this to someone like 10 times now: the letter in the products lot number is a reference to the order of the product made on that date.. so A=first lot made, B=second lot made, ect ect.. so if there is a B lot there is always always always an A lot.. please don't make more work for me in having to fix data to put them in fucking order again!!!!!

Here's my irritation for the day.

Our wedding was a week and a half ago. All of the groomsmen left about 30 minutes into the reception. Every single one of them. Because they were "bored" (nobody else was) and they wanted to watch football.

It really hurt H's feelings, but he would never say anything to them.
