Finally Friday!

image

Happy Friday, everyone! What's on the agenda for the weekend?

I'm wearing my new grey and black striped dolman top from SF with black skinnies and booties and I'm so comfy and feel so cute!

Tonight, H and I have a Devils preseason game. I think it's a toss up on whether or not we're going to go, though. It's miserable outside. SO windy and pouring and all I want is to be home with my babies! Plus it's preseason and we'll be going there multiple times a week soon enough. I'm leaving the decision up to H.

Tomorrow I have yoga in the morning and then grocery shopping which will be a freaking nightmare because of people panicking over the hurricane. I'm going to suck it up, though, because they give out samples on Saturdays and so #priorities. When I get home, I desperately need to clean my bedroom and closet and organize my cool-weather clothes. I may or may not have unpacked from Africa.

Sunday I have a 5k for colon cancer in the morning then the Eagles play at 1. The rest of the day will involve prepping lunch for next week and relaxing with H.

Hopefully this Friday flies by! I'm ready for my weekend to begin :)

Re: Finally Friday!

  • @swazzle happy Friday! The grocery stores here were packed yesterday from hurricane panic, for us it's blowing out to sea, but it's probably still going to be a crappy weekend.

Last night I got home and immediately took a nap (weird), then I made my Home Chef dinner and watched Empire.

Tonight I'm grocery shopping and making another Home Chef meal then binge watch something on Hulu. I think I might start watching Scandal again on Netflix.

Saturday I'm making my lunch for the week (pasta fagioli) then probably organizing the house. H and I decided to bite the bullet and hire a cleaning person to come in once a month and clean so I want to get the house de-cluttered since it'll be easeir for them to clean. I just hate having stuff on our dining room table, it's like our catch-all for stuff to go into the basement (example: Tide Pods and a Ninja cooker).

Sunday is going to be a lazy off my feet day, Patriots have a bye week so I'll see whatever football is on.

Monday and Tuesday I took off so I might decorate for Halloween on one of those days.

  • @buddysmom80 - Definitely watch Scandal! And you should check out How to Get Away with Murder! This is only the 2nd season so it's quick to catch up on. I need to convince H about having a cleaning person come once a month.

  • @Swazzle - Your outfit sounds perfect.  I tried on my booties yesterday, but I didn't like the combo with the top I'm wearing.  I'm wearing a very loose top (kind of like THIS one) and I thought my legs just looked chunky.  I paired it with a dark denim knee-length skirt.  I think part of it is just that I'm grumpy.

@buddysmom80 - Pasta fagioli sounds amazing.

I'm so glad it's Friday.  I have to work 5 hours today, so meh.  I'm here until 11:30.  Then all kinds of exciting stuff like grocery shopping.  I think H and I are going to eat Guatemalan for a late lunch after his haircut, so I am looking forward to that.

I'm mostly looking forward to PJs and finishing a book tonight.  And a nice frothy coffee.
  • @swazzle my mom told me to watch How to Get Away with Murder too! Maybe I'll watch that this weekend instead.

@cocobellaf lately all I want to do is go home and put my PJs on too! I think it's the change of weather here.

  • @CocoBellaF - That top would be perfect with skinnies. I know you said you don't wear jeans but a pair of black skinny pants would look great with it! The ones I wear are Lauren Conrad from Kohls and they practically feel like leggings.

@buddysmom80 - Your mom is wise. The first season was soooo good. Text me while you're watching if you decide to!

  • @swazzle well, I don't know what I'm going to do now #FWP because H just texted me and told me he got all of the Halloween movies on our Plex server. Decisions, decisions.....

  • Morning ladies,

TGIF! It's been a busy week at work. Wednesday was month and year end close and it was a disaster. Everything was going wrong and I was here until almost 7pm. I have a lot of stuff to do at the beginning of the month too but I'm almost done so I can relax a little bit.

Tonight I may or not workout. I really should because I skipped Monday as my day off, Tues I had to clean the apartment because Weds the appraisal on the house was being done & Weds I was exhausted. Last night I walked. I need to stop at the bank to deposit my check for the partial refund we finally got from our wedding photog! I have a book due at the library today but I'm not done yet and won't have time to finish it today at work so it's going to have to be a day late. I can usually renew the return date but someone else is waiting for it.
I might have to pick up H from work tonight too because he had to have his car towed to the dealer yesterday- I guess it's overheating or something. He only bought the car last May and it's had a ton of problems. I hope it's not an expensive fix because we need to be saving money now!

Tomorrow I have my LHR appt in the afternoon. I definitely noticed a difference after my first 2 appts (tomorrow will only be my 3rd) but recently I feel like the hair I thought was gone has come back.....hope I'm not doing this for nothing!

Sunday should be food shopping day and I guess the in laws want to get together.

Oh I'm supposed to get my SF delivery today too and from peeking I am not excited about it. I may need to go to the mall Saturday to make up for it.

@swazzle Good luck at the 5k! I vote for staying home and snuggling with the animals tonight.

@buddysmom80 Our dining room table is our laundry area- we fold the clothes there and hardly ever put them away. And our china cabinet area is my catch all. It's awful

  • Morning!

@swazzle my grocery store doesn't do samples but every time I go to BJ's I can't resist lol

@buddysmom80 How to Get Away With Murder gets better every episode! And it's the kind of show where you're like "OH MY GOD WHAT" every time.

So, last night I was happily watching Scandal when suddenly the power went out in my entire neighborhood!!! I missed the good parts AND How to Get Away With Murder so I am very disappointed this morning.

It is cold and rainy today, I am so glad I have a car this year! No more walking through the wind and rain to work! I am working this afternoon so today I am gonna try to bang out some school stuff because I was weirdly busy yesterday and it was my first day off in a week so I didn't really feel like getting much work done. Between today and Sunday I should have enough time but it'll be a crunch as usual. I'm usually so good at time management idk what's wrong with me lol.

@swazzle - Good luck with the 5k!  I'm rooting for you!

@buddysmom80 - I was thinking about starting Scandal too!

    @swazzle and @untouchablets - how is it?

@cocobellaf - What book are you reading?  I need book recommendations for India.

@lavenderfields13 - Yeah for the refund finally!  Sorry about your H's car...hope it is an inexpensive fix.

    -------------------------------------------
I'm tired.  I went to bed early but had a headache last night and its continued to this morning a bit.  Since I'm off coffee and I really don't take medicine unless its dire = no bueno.  I'm hoping some food will revive me so I have a breakfast of banana, cheese stick and babybel cheese.  Mmmm, breakfast of champions.

Let's see...today is work, working out (maybe walking home the 5 miles?  I'm tired of the ellipitcal as I've been doing it all week as work has disabled me from spinning).  Tonight I'll make H's Indian food, maybe make myself a grilled cheese (think I love cheese?) and hit the bed early.  I'd like to get up early tomorrow and get a walk in.  We have grocery shopping tomorrow too.  I think we are going to try to see the Martian movie this weekend so I'm looking forward to that!

Sunday is food prep, cleaning the house and lazing around otherwise.  Boring but productive.

  • @minskat30 - I'm finishing up a couple books right now.  I've read through all of Ciji Ware's books that I can get my hands on, and then I'm finishing a book that I don't like but I want to know how it ends.  Something about Helen of Troy.  I have a bunch more loaded on my iPad to read but they are just random books I downloaded from my Kindle Unlimited account.  I want to read the new Philippa Gregory book that came out in August.
  • @lavenderfields13 - If we end up staying home tonight, I'll have a date with the cardio room at the gym, at least for a little bit. What are you getting in your Fix?! I love peeking, even at other people's.

@untouchablets - The samples are always things that are bad for you so going after yoga is perfect because it's guilt-free! OH NO! Did the power come back on? I watched Grey's but couldn't stay up for Scandal or HTGAWM so I'll probably watch those tomorrow along with the other 89 things on my DVR.

@minskat30 - Thanks! I'm hoping to see the Martian on Tuesday, waiting for the OK from H to buy tickets (my theater is assigned seating). Did you read the book?

@swazzle - Your outfit, as always, sounds adorable.

    @cocobellaf - I wish I were only working until 11:30.

@lavenderfields13 - Fingers crossed for your LHR. I feel like I felt the same way going into my 3rd appointment, but then they changed me to a new laser and the results were awesome! I had my 4th appointment yesterday and decided to add in my underarms too because I'm so lazy about shaving them and it can be embarrassing.

It's grey and cold here in Boston (the temp is 50 but "real feel" is somewhere in the 40s). I'm wearing my most comfy skinny jeans, brown flats, a white long sleeve shirt and a beige scarf. I'm having a good hair day and wearing fun earrings that I love. I feel cute and comfy today. I was also down 1.5 pounds (thank you, water weight) this morning, so that's putting me in a good mood.

Last night I had laser hair removal and then a 2 hour phone date with one of my bridesmaids. She's in NC but she and her H are trying to move back to New England. I want them here so badly! Her H works in banking and is trying to find a job in Boston/Providence/NYC. If anyone here has any connections to the banking industry in this part of the country, please DM me!

This weekend I have zero plans, except tackling my long-ass to do list:
    Errands
    Clean up the apartment
Go through my clothes and organize/get rid of old clothes
    Order wedding invitations
Style outfits for me and FI for our engagement pics Monday
Look for a dress for my bachelorette party in 2 WEEKS!!!

    I'm ready for 5pm.....

ETA: Bath and Body Works is having a sale on candles this weekend! And I have a 20% Off Coupon!! Going to stock up on ALL THE FALL CANDLES!!!! And burn them all weekend!
  • @swazzle good luck running this weekend!

@buddysmom80 I love pasta fagioli such a good soup.  It's starting to be soup weather again.

It's Friday but the kind of Friday you want to be home in PJ's sleeping in under a pile of blankets.  Instead I'm at work.  It's just rainy and cold today.  I hate when the weather starts getting colder, it makes me so miserable.

My weekend will be pretty boring but nice.  I finally finished my book last night it was pretty good.  Tonight H has a poker game at a friend's house so I'll just be reading, watching TV tonight.  I hope to get in a work out as well.  Tomorrow morning is yoga and we need to do some house cleaning.

Sunday nothing is planned, so we'll just be watching football playing video games.  I don't think we need to do any food shopping since I just went on Monday and since hopefully the hurricane isn't heading this way anymore.  I'm ready for 5pm though and going home.

    Anniversary

  • UUUUGHHHH. You guys, H and I woke up this morning to discover that our stupid dishwasher had been leaking all night and got soapy water all into the carpet. I'm so annoyed and I'm at work but can't focus on anything right now. H is staying home to deal with it which is really sweet of him. On my way to work I decided I needed Starbucks which ended up being luke-warm. Not a good start to today.
The good news is that tonight we are going to a hibachi restaurant with H's brother so that will be fun! Saturday I'm determined to finish my Halloween wreath and I want to do some shopping for decorations. Also Zumba in the morning. I haven't been in awhile so I'm sure it'll be torture. Sunday I hope we can just be lazy.

@swazzle - Good luck with the 5K, that's awesome! I need to go through my closet too and transition over to fall.
@buddysmom80 - Having a professional come in and clean once a month will be so nice!
@Cocobellaf - Sounds like an awesome Friday to me.
@lavenderfields13 - Yay! I hope you like your SF! I can't wait to get my first one later this month.
@untouchablets - It sounds like you just needed a bit of a break. I bet you'll be super productive this weekend now!
@minskat30 - That movie looks so good, I've been wanting to see it too. Grilled cheese for dinner is always a yes for me!
    @Peaseblossom55 - I'm ready for 5pm too!!!

  • @cocbellaf - Thanks!  I've never read Ciji Ware and will have to check her out.  I did like the Philippa Gregory books I've read so thats a good idea too!

@swazzle- I haven't read the book.  I didn't even know it was based off a book until a few days ago, honestly.

@jenjen047 - Yeah for 1.5lb down!!! Even if its just water weight its still a great feeling.

@beachyone15 - Ugh, I'm sorry about your dishwasher.  We had one leak once (it was a slow, controlled leak) on wood floor and had to replace the wood around the dishwasher as a result.  I hope yours is an easy fix.
  • @swazzle it came back on right at the end of HTGAWM but I had missed so much of the episode I didn't even finish watching it.

@minskat30 it is my professional opinion that everyone should watch ABC from 8-11pm eastern time in order to fully understand the power of Shonda Rhimes and her crazy tv shows lol... if that is the "it" you are referring to lol
  • @Swazzle I'm getting some kind of tassel necklace- can't figure out which one but I don't know If I'm going to like. The dolman top that everyone and their mother is getting- I don't think I'll like it on me, a crochet back cardigan, a funnel neck sweatshirt and some other knit top. Not excited about any of it. I think I'd wear the sweatshirt but I don't want to spend $64 for a sweatshirt. We'll see!

@jenjen047 It is chilly here today! We need to take the ACs out of our windows because it's letting in cold air.
Glad that water weight is gone! Have your appts been getting more and more painful? My tech or whatever you call them suggested I buy lidocaine cream because the cream they sell is overpriced and probably doesn't work as well. So I googled using lidocaine for LHR and got really mixed things- some things were saying you can use it and some things said not to use it in a large area like that because you can die from too much of it in your bloodstream! I don't consider that to be a "large" area lol but um now I'm scared of dying so I guess I'll just deal with it.

Ughh @beachyone15 that really sucks! The only time my dishwasher has leaked I was home luckily and noticed it almost right away before it covered the entire kitchen floor!

  • @minskat30 - Absolutely,  a great feeling!! I hope your headache goes away.

@lavenderfields13 - I don't feel like it's gotten more painful and I don't use any creams or anything.

@beachyone15 - Ughhhh that's so frustrating about your dishwasher. Hope it can be fixed easily!
  • @beachyone15 that sucks about the dishwasher.  I hope it's an easy fix

    Anniversary

  • H just called and said he's calling our insurance to see what they cover. The floor boards are slightly warped but the carpet cleaning company he called said that if too much moisture got into the walls we could have a mold problem. And it could cost thousands of dollars. I'm freaking the fuck out right now.

@twodimes - I hate when I just feel frumpy. That was me on Tuesday. Also those invites are super adorable!!

ETA: @beachyone15 - I'm so sorry. Hopefully that's just a worst case scenario???
  • @TwoDimes my SF post is right above yours. I feel the same about my fal//winter wardrobe - it hasn't been updated in awhile and I don't like anything in it so I also don't feel cute today :( Definitely need to do some shopping this weekend.

@jenjen047 I've only had 2 appts but the last one definitely hurt a bit more and the girl said it's because they have to turn the laser up every time to make sure they're getting the hairs that are getting thinner and lighter? I mean it's not that bad since it's over and done with pretty quickly but I swore out loud last time lol.

@beachyone15 omg I'm crossing my fingers for you that the damage is not that extensive!!!

  • @lavenderfields13 - I mean all the appointments have hurt, but I don't recall a specific increase from appointment to appointment. But it's also over so quickly that it's hard to tell.
  • OMG @jenjen047 you just reminded me that I ALSO have 20% off bath and body works coupons! I didn't know they were having a sale THANKS!

@twodimes that is such a cute theme!! My sister has decided she's making the nursery winnie the pooh themed, so that's what we're going to do a vintage winnie the pooh theme for her shower.

added -- yes, people are disgusting. Every time someone would try, I'd point to the trashcan.
    image
  • @untouchablets - You're welcome! I actually have 2 coupons that both expire on Sunday. @lavenderfields13 - Are you interested? I can bring it to you!
  • Aw thanks @jenjen047! I haven't shopped there in a long time though, I try to use the most natural products I can get now since I had some skin issues a couple of years ago. I miss the delicious smells though!

  • @jenjen047 - It's all because of StitchFix! Good job with the weightloss!

    @Peaseblossom55 - Thank you!

@beachyone15 - That super sucks about your dishwasher. -- Just saw your update. Omg that's so awful! I really hope that it's a simpler fix. YUM hibachi! I haven't been out for that in so long. Pics of your Halloween wreath when you're finished!

@lavenderfields13 - If it's the funnel neck sweatshirt that I'm thinking of, I want that! I didn't think the dolman would look good on me either but I was very pleasantly surprised! I hope you are too because it's a great top that you can dress up or dress down and it looks good with everything. I turned off jewelry (I can get similar stuff for a fraction of the price, plus I don't really need these right now), scarves (I don't really wear them too often), and bags (I have a billion bags).

@TwoDimes - I'm pretty sure the ones I have are THESE. I have them in black and navy (not denim-looking navy, just plain navy) and I'm obsessed with them. They look great with flats or booties and are perfect for tucking into tall boots. That invitation is adorable!

@lavenderfields & @TwoDimes - You guys should check out ThredUp if/when you clean out your closets. You can request a bag and ship them (certain brands, good condition) clothing and they'll give you money for some/all of it. I filled a bag recently and they gave me back $30 which I'll probably use to shop on there. I usually go straight for the "new with tags" things and I got some really great cardigans and sweaters for like $12 that still had the tags on them. If you click/shop through the link above, you'll get $20 off.

@speakeasy14 - OMG ew! WTF is wrong with people?!
