5 days off and I come back to a shit show at work. It makes me question why I even returned.
And the most frustrating thing was I worked on vacation. Every morning I logged in, did some stuff I can only do. Everything was fine. Yet last night boss man's son did something stupid and I returned to a shit show.
I can only imagine what it's going to be like when I return from 11 days out-of-the-country.
Post your work vents here if you have any.
What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests. Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
Re: Post your work vents
I'm waiting on the photos for some reports I have to write, meanwhile preparing photos for other people's reports - - why on earth can't they keep field work and report writing together???
Work is super slow right now, so I understand that they need to spread it out, but come on!
My general work vent is that both of our employers just started not covering working spouses in the health insurance plans. I see no point to pay 2 individual deductibles and worst of all have to deal with two separate companies and plans.
I wish this was still a country of single income families!
That's what I meant, if insurance is offered at their job, then the other plan won't cover. My company actually says "if they have access to other insurance" and I have no idea if that means through the state plans or what!
I work at a bank. So to make things worse, the collections department is right on the other side of my cubicle. They are SO LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!! and they never do any work. It's chit chat and gossip and family drama and cackling all day long. Everyone in my department complains about them, but nobody does anything about it. It makes it so hard to concentrate!

Even though DH and I are on the same policy, we have separate deductibles. DH hits his before March. I rarely hit mine at all.
The separate companies would annoy me.
DH's last job doesn't cover working spouses who can get insurance at their job. My job doesn't provide insurance, so I was able to get covered. My boss had to send in documentation proving he doesn't provide insurance. (there are only 10 or so employees). The last class they had had an average of 6 months in sales.
It sucks to realize that you're not as important as you used to be. When I was the only other person, I knew everything that was going on. I wasn't super-senior and I knew that she would hire people above me in time. It just sucks being left out of conversations that I would have once been party to. I know that I don't work on strategy anymore but it hurts to feel left out all the time.
And some bitching: I have an MBA in marketing from one of the best programs in the US and spent 2 years running marketing websites for an organization that is our type of target audience. I have run social media projects at multiple employers, freelanced writing marketing plans, and overall have a great marketing resume. While my current role isn't marketing, it was a huge part of my work when we started. But now we have a girl (that I genuinely like) hired as a project manager who is supposed to work on some of our marketing projects. That's great. I love not handling everything. However, I'm constantly being asked questions about things -- then am consistently told that I'm wrong. Why ask if you don't want my opinion? And shouldn't the opinion of someone with relevant experience play into decisions of two people without relevant experience?
Basically, going through a phase where I'm feeling incredibly alienated and unappreciated.
It's also that "older people" smoke smell. You know, the ones who smoke in their car with the windows up and don't wash their hands after, or take a mint, and don't wash their jackets and always smell like stale smoke. That's the worst part. Because I've dated 3 smokers (H used to) and they NEVER smelled like that.
@luckya23 It is called a spousal carve out which basically means if your spouse has access to insurance through his/her employment then you cannot be on the group plan. It doesn't mean if you have access to any insurance since technically everyone has access to the Exchange plans now. The other option is a spousal surcharge, which another PP mentioned, which is when they say if your spouse has access to work insurance but still want to be on your plan then you will have to pay extra for them since they could get coverage at their own job.
To be honest most people would benefit from being on separate individual (employee-only) policies vs being on a family plan or an employee + spouse plan. that is because employers typically subsidize employee-only coverage the most (and now with the ACA they have to to meet affordability requirements or face a penalty) but there is nothing that makes them subsidize the spouse or children. So the employee-only part might be $40 per check but to add you as a spouse it would run $150 per check (just making up numbers). In that case you would be better off having 2 $40/check plans than 1 $150/check plan. Sure there are still employers out there subsidizing spouse/dependents on the plan but it is getting away from it as a way to cut costs. My H and I are on separate plans and the only reason we are combining for next year is because his plan covers all maternity costs at $0; but as a result we will be paying about $120 more for combined coverage than if we had separate policies still.
Edit: Words!
I just found out that someone I work with took it upon themselves to go through comments on a post, go to another person's fb page, and screenshot the fact that I am friends with that person (who happens to be a director). She then sent it to other coworkers saying, "They can get in trouble for being friends."
Well, no we can't. It's not an issue. But the fact that you went to those lengths annoys me. I've now deleted almost all of my coworkers so I don't have to deal with high school drama.
