Good morning guys!

How are you today? Anything good going on?

I was woken up prematurely by a dog who shall remain unnamed barking his head off at 8:15 today. No bueno.

Today I am going to work, and I am going to go nuts there because I can't say anything to anyone about my new job and nobody has a clue that I was even looking, including the customers. I just don't want anything to get to my boss before I do. We are close and have worked together since I started and I know it will be a hard discussion. I am not sure if I should actually WRITE my two weeks notice or just tell her when my last day is. Other people have done that but I want to make sure I don't burn ANY bridges doing this.

If you could travel to the past, what year would you travel to? What is your favorite historical place? If you could travel 30 years into the future what do you hope you'll see?

Re: Back to the Future Wednesday!

  • Good morning!

I am jealous of you being woke up at 8:15.  My alarm goes off at 5:15 every morning.

I wrote a 2 weeks notice both times and sat down with my boss when I gave it to them.  I've been told it's considered more professional, plus HR puts it in your file.

I wouldn't want to travel to just one time in the past.  I would want to travel back to all sorts of times and places.  My favorite genre of reading is historical novels, so there are so many different things I'd want to see that I've read about!

This week is so busy!  Last night, I got off of work at 4:00.  Prepped dinner and got it in the oven by 5:00, taught piano until 6:00, and then ate before my 7:00 algebra tutoring session arrived.  H was at the hospital until 7:30, doing visitation.  I was finally done with work for the day at 8:00, so I did a 30 minute work out.  I tried 21 Day Fix and loved it.  Showered, put on PJs, read a magazine for a little bit and then konked out.  EXHAUSTED.

Tomorrow we're going to a wedding on a mountain (well, as much as OK has mountains) about and hour and a half away.  And it's 100% chance of rain.  No idea what's going on now.

I can't wait for the weekend.  I need a chance to breathe.

Aaaaaaand, I drank all my coffee by 7:15 this morning.  NEED MOAR COFFEE.
  • @cocobellaf I feel you on the 5:15 alarm, if I don't post here on a weekday it's because I either got up at 4:30 or 5 and have already been at work for half my shift by 9. That's why I cherish the nights that I close so much!
  • @untouchablets - Considering I had been at work for an hour and a half when you were woken up you are getting no pity from me!

H and I went to the Devils game last night and they won! First at-home win this season woot woot! When I got home and got into bed, I noticed I had a voice mail which I mistakenly listened to at 11pm. It was my coworker basically saying I fucked something up. I'm not sure what he thought I could do from my bed at 11 at night but whatever. So I rushed to work today and discovered that I did, in fact, fuck up. It's taken the last 2 hours to sort out and I finally just made my first cup of coffee. So today is already on my last nerve and it's completely my own fault.

If you could travel to the past, what year would you travel to?
I feel like I could have a billion answers for this but if I have to pick just one, I'd like to see what this planet was like when the dinosaurs were alive.

What is your favorite historical place?
I really love old cities. Boston, London, Berlin.

If you could travel 30 years into the future what do you hope you'll see?
    That the world hasn't imploded.

  • @Swazzle - Ugh, that sucks.  I'm really glad you were able to get it sorted out.  I hope your day starts to get better!
  • @swazzle sorry about how your morning is going! Glad you were able to sort it out eventually and I hope the day gets better!
  • This is a post and run. I am presenting this afternoon to my old workers on some stuff about my current job and how it impacts them ( real specific right?).  I am excited and nervous.  I am mostly just about seeing people I haven't seen in awhile especially those who don't know about Anneliese.  The question How are you? is now such a loaded question.  Do I smile and say everything is great, ignore the recent tragedy or do I share about Anneliese.  I don't just mean today but all the time now that question haunts me.

I am excited though my manager has the confidence to let me present and represent our department.

    Anniversary

  • I have no complaints - YET. But I have only been at work for about an hour now. My shirt is also full of glitter and it's getting EVERYWHERE.image

If you could travel to the past, what year would you travel to?
I'm weird but I think spending some time in the 50's would be fun.

What is your favorite historical place?
    Berlin, Germany.

If you could travel 30 years into the future what do you hope you'll see?
Human race is still alive. Or at least cats.

    @untouchablets - Thanks!

@Peaseblossom55 - Good luck on your presentation!

@QueenOfGlitz - What do you do for work? What part of the country do you live in?

    @swazzle -

I am a Production Control Specialist - we build concrete pumps/mixers/etc. I'm in Wisconsin but we do business all over the world.

Edit: My sentences didn't make sense.

@peaseblossom55 - Good luck with the presentation!

@untouchablets - I hear you on the barking dog, no pun intended.  This is my life with Rajah.

@swazzle - So nice of your co-worker to leave that message *note the dripping sarcasm*  I'm glad you got it fixed.

@cocobellaf - Holy cow women, that is one busy schedule!

@queenofglitz - Where in Wisconsin are you?  I live in Milwaukee.  I grew up here actually but just moved back about a year and a half ago for a job.

    ---------------------------------------------
My day is off to a stressful start.  I dropped Rajah at the vet for his sedation and X-Rays.  I hope the news isn't too bad, guys.  Rajah is my baby...my giant 110+ lb baby.  I think arthritis is probably the best-case scenario but we will see.  They are calling me to pick him up hopefully in a few hours.

Other than that, I've got work, work, work today.  I hit the gym yesterday and was really proud to make it through 50 minutes on the elliptical, as I've been so nauseous and dizzy lately.  I hope to get a workout in tonight...we will see how I feel.  I don't want to push myself too much.

Hey heeeeeyyy, I'm in Racine! We are so close!

  • @minskat30 - If you're feeling dizzy, maybe a walk would be a good work out, or some yoga.  :)  I'm sorry to hear you're still feeling bad, but thankful that there's a wee minskat causing all the problems!  ;)

@minskat30 you have a dog breed known for its barking lol. We are actually dogsitting a tiny little dog who has a high bark and a higher whine and it DOESN'T STOP.

Hey heeeeeyyy, I'm in Racine! We are so close!

You are kidding me?!  I grew up in Racine (my family is Danish and Racine is sort of a little mini-Denmark...or at least it was back in the 40s/50s). Actually, most of my family is still there and we go to Racine all the time to visit.  I went to Horlick for High School (though I'm a lot older than you...I'm turning 34 next month).  Small world.  :)

That's crazy! I went to Case for High School, and Carthage for college. Def is a small world. :)

Ha!  True, true.  Rajah's bark doesn't irritate me at least...its deep and LOUD so it shocks me sometimes when it comes in the silence but he certainly isn't a "yipper". My family classifies dogs in three categories "yippers", "yappers" and "woofers"...Raj is the latter.  ;)
  • @minskat30 - Sending vibes that everything goes ok today. Big hugs to you.

@untouchablets - I think I'm mostly afraid of humans killing off each other. It's a scary world we live in.

@TwoDimes - Poor Indy! That must have been torture. I hope she's able to go crazy tonight!

  • @minskat30 WAIT DID I MISS SOMETHING?! A LITTLE MINSKAT IS IN THE WORKS??
Ha!  Yup, baking in the oven.  I did an AW a while back.  It had a lot of gifs per my usual. LINK

@Swazzle - Thank you, Raj is my baby so I'm on pins and needles until the vet calls.

@TwoDimes - I saw that Indy pic on Instagram and felt so bad for Indy.  Hope you gets to use her fenced yard tonight!
  • @Swazzle yes good point. I hope that in 30 years that's significantly less people killing going on. And that Donald Trump is not in the history books as a president lol.

From your mouth to God's ears, hopefully.  Cannot stand that man.  I will defect with H to India if he wins.  H thinks I'm kidding but I'm seriously contemplating it.
