Rehearsal Dinner - How much food for 38 people?

Hi,

How much Italian food should I order for the Rehearsal Dinner of about 38 people?
We are having the dinner at the church.

I will prepare the salad and am planning to order 4 full trays (feeds 15-20 people).
Would that be enough or should I order more food?

    Sorry, are you saying that each of the 4 trays feeds 15-20 people (totaling food for 60-80) or that all 4 trays together feeds 15-20 people? If it's the first situation then I think you're golden, as you'll have 1/3-1/2 more than what you need for ~40 people; however, if you're saying the latter, then double it.

    Then you should have plenty.  If you are still unsure you can always ask the place you are ordering from.  I am sure they will be able to suggest how much to order for your crowd.
