@AuroraRose41 - Speaking for myself, @GoldenPenguin, and @beanbot2002 (correct me if I'm wrong, of course!), I think having the shower and BP all in the same day/weekend is ideal especially when you have people traveling from out of town. It consolidates it so those people only have to travel one time for all of the festivities which makes it much more possible for them to attend both events. AND, I almost forgot, they'll have to travel for the wedding too so instead of it being 3 trips, it cuts it down to 2. Just my $0.02!
All of this. We did my shower around lunchtime, everyone went to the hotel to check in & get ready, and then we did the bachelorette. It was perfect. Especially with OOT people/friends, it makes everything way easier. For my best friend, we did her bachelorette Saturday night and a brunch shower Sunday morning, and I would NOT recommend that. We were SO hungover at the shower.

Also, I fell down some stairs last weekend and hurt my ankle/foot/let pretty badly. Apparently it's not broken, but I'd be surprised if there wasn't something popped/torn in there. My entire foot is purple. I've sprained this ankle a million times, and it's NEVER been like this. I had x-rays on Monday, and they told me there was no break, but that if it didn't get better to go see an orthopedic, so we'll see what happens after this weekend.

  • @AuroraRose41 Re: Shower/bachelorette... Two of my friends had their shower/bachelorette on the same day. Afternoon shower, evening/night bachelorette. There was time in between the two events for changing clothes and redoing makeup for the evening. I lived an hour away so it was convenient for me to only need to worry about one day.

  • Thanks everyone for the opinions re: shower/bachelorette on the same day! Okay, I feel way better about this now :)

@GoldenPenguin I'm so sorry! I have had sprains too before on my injured ankle and they have never been like this for me. The doctors even told me that even though the Xrays didn't show a fracture, one was still possible, as there are areas of the ankle/foot that won't show a fracture on an Xray until the new bone material starts to form after a few weeks. My dad (and I think @speakeasy14 ? Correct me if I am wrong) had similar things happen too, where Xrays didn't show a fracture but MRI/CT scans did. Since they haven't done a MRI or CT scan on me yet, I am not sure, but it very well still could be a fracture. You might have a similar case.

In any event, I really hope yours heals soon too!

  • @aurorarose41 yup, my fractures were internal and didn't show up until they took the MRI.  And the fractures weren't in the area that I landed when I fell.  I landed on the top right side of my foot (where there was a massive lump).  The fractures were where my foot and ankle meet.  But like I said to you and @goldenpenguin if the swelling doesn't go down and you can't wiggle your toes after a week, get to an orthopedist.

  • @AuroraRose41 - We do have a venue and it's capacity over even who my mom wants to invite - she's thinking 150 and the ceremony space accommodates 180 so it's not a concern there. :) My mom suggested a couple of venues that held way less and I was worried she's want to over invite so we didn't even look at those!

  • @speakeasy14 did bruising show up a few days after the injury occurred? Because I have had no bruising or swelling until the past day or two, and the injured part is where the foot and ankle meet in the front. The swelling is still very minor though, but the bruising is getting worse.

I have a follow up with the orthopedist next week. We will see how PT and rest this weekend go, but if there still isn't much improvement I am going to ask him to do a MRI.
