TGIF

Nothing like coming back from vacation, working 2 days and then the weekend arrives.

Any one have plans?

We plan on getting new snow tires on Saturdays (just in time for a Monday snowstorm).   Then pretty much nothing. Although DH might go skiing on Sunday.

Even our house/dog sitters cleaned our place to the point we don't have to this weekend.  woohoo

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

I have a set of Blizzaks that have less than 3K miles on them from the year I lived in CO. Lifesaver for sure, but now they just take up space. I need to sell them.

I've been sick all weekend, but I hope I'm well enough for the TCU game tomorrow!

That is what we are getting.  They are the best.

  • I'm aspiring to complete some home improvement... Repatching and repainting a wall. Why didn't I buy stock in Home Depot ages ago...?

Frogs need to step it up!!!!!!  (my sister is a TCU alum and I went to a Div 3 school, so my allegiance is to TCU now)
  • We need to do some serious cleanup this weekend.   We have an annual turkey fry party at our house with a ton of friends and their kids and the house needs to be organized.   Plus, I want to make a few things ahead of time so I'm just taking frozen food out and heating it vs. making things on the stove when people arrive.

It's supposed to flurry this weekend.   I'm hoping we have a few more weeks before DH needs to do the winter tire shuffle.
  • I've been in a funk for a week due to some work issues, so DH made the executive decision that he is taking me to Galveston this weekend.  I could totally use a day to walk the beach and just relax.

Sunday we have a tough lesson for our Sunday school students ... we are required to teach a session regarding inappropriate relationships and inappropriate touch.  It's not going to be fun, but I know it's neccessary.

  • My plans for the weekend generally consist of housecleaning. My family is invading my home for christmas, so we need to start decluttering and preparing for it. I really don't want to put it all off until the last minute. My guest room turned into wedding planning central last year and has mainly been a junk/storage room since then.  Plus, I've been having a horrible time sleeping lately and I think allergies may be partially to blame.  So, I want to super clean & dust the bedroom.  We have textured walls that dust gets stuck on, so I need to scrub the walls and get everything really clean, which I'm hoping will help me sleep through the night for a change.

Then, I may need to go into work to set up and prep for my new employee that starts on Monday. Plus, I'm hoping to get a couple of my projects done by then, so I can focus on getting her started without having to worry about missing my project deadlines.

  • My friend is having a "clean out all the alcohol by drinking it" party  tomorrow night. On Sunday, I am meeting a friend who is moving away for coffee.

I hope it will be a chill weekend because I am coming down with a cold. All I want to do it lounge around the house in my pjs while watching tv. I am lazy like that.

  • This weekend is going to be fun.

I'm going to get my hair chopped off tomorrow morning (yay!!!) I am getting so sick of it. Definitely ready for a change after growing it out for the wedding.

DH turns 30 on Sunday so we are having a party. He is NOT a party person, but he requested one specifically. It is going to be a blast!

  • I usually work weekends but I have this weekend off! With the exception of having to do some stuff from home Saturday morning. But I am taking Monday off.

Anyway, hoping for an Eagles win on Sunday, @lyndausvi and a NYG annihilation! Why I still have hope for our season, IDK. But I do!

Going to do some volunteer work and some editing for a friend.

Today, I'm going to hope I don't have any Friday the 13th bad luck.

My DH still has hope that the Tennessee Titans will make the playoffs. If he can have hope for them, you can have hope for the Eagles.

Rough year for them. I feel for your H! Being a football fan is not for the faint of heart. Sometimes I think my blood pressure would improve greatly if I could stop caring. But I can't stop caring!

I know the feeling! My family roots for several teams and when they play, it's a maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaajor event in our family.  If they win, the afterglow lasts for days; if they lose, it's a grand tragedy.

All of my family and friends who are Eagles fans always joke how our blood pressure are going through the roof watching our games. And mine is naturally low, but not during our games.  It's rare they give us a blow out.  Nope, it's always nail biters.

My husband is a Bills fan - he's still holding out the tiniest bit of hope that this will be their year. It never is.

Last year when I was dealing with the whole gamut of emotions from my divorce in a more acute way than I am now, my doctor actually suggested I don't watch football as it wasn't healthy for my blood pressure. I really try to manage my football expectations and stay calm but it's hard. I love our team so much and want it for us so bad!
  • I'm a Bears fan and last week on ESPN radio they were talking about the Packers and saying "good news for Bears fans! Packers lose to Denver!". Why? What, are we going to win the division now? No. We can't even beat the Lions. I get it, anything bad that happens to the Packers is good to me but we still blow ass.

Oh me too. I'm very upset that our #1 RB is out and now our #1 WR will likely be out on Sunday. Again - why? Unless both the Vikings and Packers cease to be football teams or their planes go down, we have no hope for this season whatsoever.

They send two playoff round tickets out with the season tickets at the beginning of the year - I laugh at them.

Yeah, it's bad when you have to start hoping for other teams to lose in order for you to even be able to think about a wild card spot. I just can never help but hope that each year will be our year, much like you, I'm sure, as a season ticket holder you are obviously a big fan. I keep telling myself I need to learn to like hockey or basketball to ease the pain of the end of of football season every year. I'm not sure this is a sound strategy seeing as I don't manage being a football fan very well.
  • @ShesSoCold Your weekend sounds awesome! My teams (SJ Sharks, Seattle Seahawks) are too damn far for us ever to go to a game... Sigh.

I think tomorrow I am going to go get my hair cut. It was mid-back at my wedding in June, then I cut 6 inches off in July. And it's still a pain in the ass. I am thinking I will get it cut above the shoulder and grow out my bangs so I don't have to blow dry/flat iron. Because I'm lazy like that.

I'm sure Sunday will just be a football watching day - H and I are going head to head in our league this week, and he beat me in week two. Hoping I can pull off a win, but things could get heated at our house...

Well I'm a pretty huge Blackhawks fan too so that helps. It definitely helps. LOL

  • I could never be a hockey or basketball fan.  I barely deal with 16 games over 17 weeks (regular season).     No way I could keep track of 82 games for 6 months.

Thanks! I'm super excited. I LOVE away games and try to go to at least one per year. This year I've got two away Bears games and at least two away Hawks games. I'm still trying to talk my sister into going to MN for the Hawks' outdoor game...

At least you're not a Lions fan...the most exciting thing we have going for us is our new owner, the widowed 90 year Martha Ford.  I love her!

I need to clean my house, do laundry and pack, but instead I'm going out for drinks with my best friend tonight, having a girls Sunday Funday with some coworkers and my mom is here for the weekend.  Ugh, I need to clone myself!

Alshon Jeffery? He's questionable, but he was seen walking around the locker room without a limp... I have been following closely, because he's MY #1 WR (in fantasy), so I'm sending good thoughts that he will be at 100%!
