Re: Tuesday

  • @minskat30 The wedding is at my uncle's house about 45 minutes north of Phoenix and all my friends live in Phx. Sending all the love to Raj today, he will be fine and fantastic and amazing! also good luck telling your boss, hope you find the right time.

@untouchablets yaaay to your own class!

@misskittydanger sorry about your cavity but at least you can get it fixed and not hurt anymore

@labro OMG. I need to be adopted by a southern family. My mom has never baked a cookie in her life and therefor never taught me how. One time I tried like the premade grocery dough and even managed to fuck that up :(

Oh man!!!  You have got to remedy that, quick!  There is nothing like a fresh, hot, gooey homemade cookie right out of the oven.
  • @jenna8984 Well I'm glad you fucked up the pre-made grocery dough shit because that stuff is gross. ;) Baking is so easy! You just follow the instructions!!

  • Actually, FYI, the Nestle chocolate chip cookie dough is supposedly egg-free and safe to eat during pregnancy...  cookie dough FTW!!!!

hahhahaha I swear to God I have gone on so many tangents about that because every time I follow the instructions they burn. So I do less time and temp like people suggest and they are either raw or still burnt. cookies, muffins, rolls, you name it LOL

  • Send me cookies please!!!

BTW, does anyone have a recipe for pasta with a balsamic sauce or drizzle?  I'm finding lots of pasta salads on Pinterest, but I was thinking like a hot pasta dish.
  • @CocoBellaF OR you make your own!

    You're welcome in advance. ;)

I also told @Swazzle about THESE beauties. Same recipe, but you shape them into footballs and dip them in melted chocolate.

  • @jenna8984 - I'm not a baker by any means (seriously, have you heard about my green scones before?) but I had the same problem when I lived in my apartment. I think the oven cooked way too hot and I didn't have great baking sheets either which I'm sure didn't help. My oven now is a good one and I have something decent to put things on while baking and it's helped immensely!

  • @jenna8984 That's super annoying. I had a terrible oven at a house I rented in college. I couldn't trust the oven temp. dial so I bought a thermometer and hung it in there to see what it actually was and just baked according to that. For me, whenever I bake a batch of cookies the first pan takes the longest (like chocolate chip cookies they recommend 9-11 minutes so the first batch usually ends up being the full 11 minutes), and then all the other batches take around 9 minutes. I never mess with the temp. because I don't want them to be undercooked. I'd rather bake them for less time/more time and just watch them carefully.

  • @labro - There is no cooking at my house right now.  The smell of food cooking triggers a puking episode.  :(  We are surviving on take-out and drive-thrus, and H will cook himself a few things to eat during the week while I'm asleep with the bedroom door shut.  I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to bake my own cookies and shove them in my mouth while they are still hot and fresh.  *drool*

@Swazzle is right about the oven and baking sheets.  It makes a HUGE difference in baking!
  • P&R because of a meeting in a few minutes...

@minskat30 Thinking of you and Raj today! Please keep us updated on his surgery! I also really hope you're able to tell your boss your good news. :)

@Swazzle and @labro I agree with @minskat30-- you both are fabulous and beautiful, but it's really great that you're both joining WW to work on overall fitness. You're both going to kick ass! I know it!

@MissKittyDanger Recipe for those Reese's cookies please! Reese's are basically my crack.

@CocoBellaF I'm sorry you're having such a rough time lately. :( My coworker said she craved chocolate milk ALL THE TIME with her first pregnancy, so apparently that's a normal-ish thing?

@wink0erin Good luck with the inspection! Crossing all appendages that it goes well!

@labro DROOLING over all those cookies you guys will be making. OMG.

@peaseblossom55 I had really weird dreams last night too. Must be something in the air. ;-) I have also been craving cookies non-stop... there are so many amazing cookies this time of year. You deserve a cookie at lunch today! <3

@beachyone15 I think wine on a Monday night is a great idea! It would definitely have been the highlight of my night as well.
    ------------
LOL so much for getting into the routine this week! Yesterday was all sorts of crazy, and I only remembered to eat anything at all around 9pm. Oops. Hoping today is better!

My coworker is playing her 90's R&B radio station again. SO MUCH BETTER THAN CHRISTMAS MUSIC! I love it.

H worked until 8 last night, and then we watched Fixer Upper (our new favorite show) while Zoey dozed. Nice and relaxing Monday night.

We bought a heated mattress pad and a really soft, fancy pillow for me at the BBB registry completion thing Sunday night. I never ever want to get out of bed. Ever. Waking up is so hard now.

  • @CocoBellaF I  mean, it's cookie dough so there really isn't a cooking smell per se but I also don't have pregnancy nose. ;) I just hate all that pre-packaged cookie dough junk.

  • @eilis1228  I am all about the chocolate milk right now.  Yum.  And please for more Zoey pictures.
  • @labro - I'm not a huge fan of the pre-packaged stuff either.  If there is no smell, I might be able to get away with it though!!  I'll check it out, THANK YOU.
  • @eilis1228 @minskat30 Your words are seriously so kind! But I am at least 70 lbs overweight. So yes, while WW is a fitness thing...it's also definitely a weight loss thing. I need to get to a healthy weight otherwise I'm going to screw myself in a few years if I haven't already. Both sides of my family have heart problems, cholesterol issues, etc.

  • @eilis1228 - I asked for a heated mattress pad for Christmas! I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally hope we get it from someone. I mostly love them at night, when getting into bed because it's so cold in the bedroom.

  • Ok well I gave up a few years ago, now I want to give baking another try! I will get a nice cookie sheet too since mine are pretty crappy. I usually only use them with foil for roasting veggies.

    @eilis1228 90s R&B is where it's at!!

@cocobellaf I have been trying to make myself eat a bunch of fruit in hopes that later on my cravings will be fruit (instead of sweets). Don't know if it's going to work...it might backfire and turn me off of fruit haha

  • @jenna8984 @southernpeach89 was eating clementines by the pound when she was pregnant! I think she mostly craved fruit and ice cream over everything else. I don't know if what she ate in that first trimester had much to do with anything. I know I had a girls night with her one time and she was all about  ordering a stuffed crust pizza....so yeah.

  • @TwoDimes Omg those Rollo treats look to die for!!! I guess I'll be adding my Christmas baking to the holiday decor AW thread. I definitely do not have the patience for decorating a tree shaped cookie with sprinkle ornaments. Nope, those suckers get dumped on and that's the end of it! So you guys can all laugh at my 5 year old decorating skills. ;)

  • @swazzle @labro if you're looking for a healthy treat, everyone at my work seems all amazed by my frozen bananas. You just slice them like you would for a fruit salad and freeze in ziplocs. Eat them still frozen and they aren't rock hard at all, they are all creamy like eating froyo.

@Swazzle - I know how you feel with being overweight and just wanting to finally lose it! I will do well for a month and then gain it back, then do good again, and then fail again and it so incredibly frustrating because I don't know how to keep the motivation going. I hope you reach your goals with weight watchers!

ETA: I think you are gorgeous <3

Interesting!  I do this (freeze banana slices) for H's protein shakes I make him in the morning so they aren't watered down with ice but still cold.  I never thought about eating the slices frozen from the freezer though.  Sounds yummy and I have some waiting for me tonight in the freezer.

@jenna8984 - Even better than that? Freeze the bananas and then pop them in the food processor with peanut butter or nutella or cocoa powder and you have ice cream
Ha!  You posted this when I posted my reply to it too...this is pretty much H's protein shake with milk...frozen banana, milk, protein powder and peanut butter.  A dash of honey too is nice.
  • @minskat30 sparkling grape juice sounds pretty good!  Thanks for the idea!

@jenna8984 - I don't think what you eat in your first tri affects any cravings.  I've had no cravings so far, just aversions.  But eat healthy while you can!!!

Pizza with a white sauce sounds pretty good, maybe we'll end up with that for dinner tonight!!
  • @AlPacina LOL I am dying at your present story. My mom and dad conveniently live 20 minutes away so I just have all of H's presents delivered there. Then I go over and wrap them in secret and bring them back to our house to go under the tree.
