Just a few things I'm wondering about.
First, when you write thank you notes (whether for wedding, birthday, christmas, whatever), and someone gave you a bunch of little things, do you list ALL the things in the thank you note? It always sounds kind of awkward when I do that. Sometimes I just say "gifts" and then specifically mention a couple of them. Is there a proper etiquette for that?
Second, I'm a teacher. Should I be writing thank you notes to students when they give me gifts? I usually get a few gifts from students at Christmas time (like cookies or a bottle of lotion). I've always kind of thought of them as "thank you" gifts, and you don't write thank you notes for thank you gifts. BUT maybe I should treat them like normal Christmas gifts and write the girls a note? Sometimes I wouldn't have a chance to give them the note until I see them again in January. What say you?
