Good morning!
I'm feeling immensely better today. I got on the couch as soon as I got home yesterday, got caught up on Quantico, and ate leftover steak from my Christmas party for dinner.
Today is my first WW weigh-in and I'm -2.8 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a dentist appointment after work that I'm dreading because I hate the stupid dentist with a fiery passion. I also have to go food shopping and maybe start straightening up the house because my ILs arrive on Saturday and even though H and I are off together on Friday, I don't want to spend the whole day cleaning.
I can't even believe that Christmas Eve is a week from tomorrow. I'm done my shopping and all but 1 of my gifts have arrived so I'll spend the beginning of next week wrapping everything.
I really hope this workday flies.

I'm thinking of asking if I can leave early today so I can get some Christmas stuff done. I need to pick up something for my mom, pick up some of H's gifts from my aunt's house, buy the rest of H's gifts and get something for my team! Tomorrow is our work party and everyone usually exchanges gifts then so I need to get it done ASAP. I think I might just get them each a Visa GC and some nice chocolate from a local store. Last year I did more personal gifts but it's really hard when you know some people more than others.
I'm not mad.

@lavenderfields13 you have to buy for each person at work? That is hard and odd. We just do a big yankee swap. I wasn't sure what to get but I walked into TJMaxx and they had big gift tables set out so I got this board game. You can flip the board over so it's got like 4 games in one, seems generic enough but neat.
I'm just over here trying to fix other people's shit before year end. I go into my A/R aging report and see that someone in Albuquerque entered a credit memo in my company, to my company...I'm like wtf is this? How I can owe my own company $-67,000?? So yea, dealing with lots of those til year end lol. But I made chicken scampi last night and it came out amazing so I can't wait to have it for lunch today!

@lavenderfields13 - You have to buy presents for everyone at work? Holy cow...I just go in with my boss (we share an assistant) for my assistant.

I'm back at work today and Rajah is by himself for the first time post-surgery. I hope he does ok and doesn't hurt himself or knock anything over with his cone. We kept him in a cool relatively quiet room so he should be ok...his dog walker is coming with an assistant today too to help. I lucked out in finding the best dog walker ever...I spent like 10 minutes chatting with her yesterday about Raj and she misses him so much when he's off a week with his walks.
We have a work holiday party tonight so I'll go to that too. I'm thinking of telling people at the party I'm KU if the right opportunity presents itself (i.e., drinking questions). I'm bumping out at this point anyway and my boss knows so I might as well. If I don't do it today, I'll do it tomorrow at our team meeting (our boss wraps up the meeting with asking people around the table if they have anything new in their life, which is usually when people make these kinds of announcements).
Other than that, I have to do some shopping tonight online. I'm still stuck on Christmas presents. I've settled on gift cards for my sister and BIL but I'm thinking of getting my mom a camera. I got my nephew a few Star Wars things so I'll give him a gift card for the rest of his gift. I need to find something for my niece to open and I'll also supplement her gift with a gift card. H is going to be a trip I think but I still haven't finalized that (thank you all for the awesome suggestions yesterday! I'm narrowing the list down now).
We do a Yankee Swap too but I haven't participated in a few years because we have so many people now (like 100 in our office) and the swap had like 50 people at one point and it just was not fun any more.

Not much happening over here, just living vicariously through the rest of you. H is going to see Star Wars with his cousin tomorrow so I might try to wrap his presents while he is out of the house. I am so glad I took care of most of our shopping early because I have been such a bum! I feel like Christmas snuck up on almost everyone this year.

I made HelloFresh fish curry last night and it was SO good. Plus it made enough for us to have dinner and for me to bring a big Tupperware of it for lunch today. Love that!
FI agreed the idea of using decor to sort of rope off the aisle at the ceremony is a perfect, so I will email the florist today to get that taken care of. Thank you again @swazzle @bethsmiles!
Unfortunately the family drama is not resolved. FBIL got engaged Saturday night and texted FI after it happened. The next morning FBIL and FSIL went to FFIL's house to tell him the news in person.....and he was very upset that FBIL had told FI first. And by very upset I mean slamming doors, punching walls, screaming, etc. I really don't understand why he reacted like that at all. So now FBIL is upset with his dad's reaction and FFIL is still pissed off that FBIL told FI first....and neither one of them wants to be mature adults and sit down and hash it out. I feel like FI has done all he can do to try to get them to work it out so now it's just up to them.
In other news.....I GET MARRIED IN 1 MONTH!!!!!!!

I can't believe it's already Wednesday. I HAVE to finish my Christmas shopping.. BF's family is so difficult to shop for, and I have done barely anything. It is stressing me out SO much! So if anyone has suggestions for people who either have everything or are hard to shop for please share!
Yesterday I was super busy running around but I finally put up my new shelves! They look awesome, and today I plan on moving my books from my big bookshelf to my nightstand (which I think I am now keeping... we will see). The main plan is to empty the bookshelf and move the dresser so I have more room for a dog crate and ex-pen when my puppy comes home in March
Today I have to go to work and call all of the people who put their names and phone numbers on my dog training list. They haven't bought any classes yet and I technically can't teach any until I finish this program they have me in, but the DM is putting pressure on my manager to sell classes. This WILL help me make my class schedule when I finish the program, but I will have to tell people I am calling to start reserving spots, otherwise it will be hard to justify selling $100+ packages for classes that don't start for another month.
@lavendrfields13 - Thank God! I would have to shop for 50 people if I bought for everyone in my office. Not to be a scrooge but there is no way I would do that.
@cocobellaf - I feel the same way (like Christmas snuck up). I think the weather here has something to do with it...its raining....in Wisconsin...in December.
@jenjen047 - My God, it sounds like your FI's family needs medication. Why the hell all the drama over the telling of news? My mom and sister flat out told a bunch of people I was KU when I told them not to say anything and I just sighed and moved on.
@untouchablets - Do you buy them gifts separate from your BF? Until this year, I left H's family up to him and then the gifts he gave were from both of us. The gifts this year are still from us both but I did the shopping because it was easier.
@swazzle Ah gotcha, glad I got my house this year under 4%, I heard they are going all the way to 5. ?

@untouchablets I used to buy separate gifts for my MIL and FIL too because they gave me a ton of gifts! Then once we got married I was like this is crazy, I'll buy for my family and you buy for yours and everything will be from both of us.

@cu97tiger @swazzle I knew the rates were supposed to go up in January but my boss had suspected they'd go up mid December, makes me dang glad I locked in a good rate on the house, now here's hoping the rest of the paperwork goes smoothly.
@untouchablets for hard-to-buy-for people I usually go with something they can eat, something they can wear, or something artsy. Or a straight up gag gift. uncommongoods.com usually has neat stuff. For stores I tend to hit up TJ Maxx or Home Goods and any local shop that has artsy stuff in my gift price range.
I woke up thinking today was Thursday, and it's not, so boooo. Things are moving along with the home buying, I should be closing on the 29th! With the feds raising interest rates I'm glad I locked my rate in already, even though I wasn't really planning on looking until spring. I guess when you find the right place it jumps out at you. I really thought it would take me months to find a place. Only took me a week and a half. I know my area though, and I had a good idea of what kind of home I could get in my price range from browsing listings here for years as a pastime.
Star Wars comes out tomorrow, but I won't get to see it until Sunday. I'm so afraid of spoilers that I might remove the facebook app from my phone and completely avoid the internet (aside from email and NEY).
I'm meeting up with a friend of mine either today or tomorrow to give her some shampoo I won't be using, and I crocheted a super fast cowl last night for her too. I had completely forgotten to get her a gift and I couldn't find anything at the store, so times like these I'm glad to have a stockpile of chunky yarn and a huge hook. I would have felt so weird just giving her a used bottle of shampoo this close to Christmas.
@cocobellaf I feel the same way. I have all my shopping done, but no decorations, or anything wrapped. I seriously thought it was still November.
@untouchablets I made my bf's family coasters out of family pictures. They came out gorgeous. I used personalization mall, and it's 4 coasters a set.
Yesterday was insane. I feel very much out of shape today. I was up at 4 for my global meeting, which went perfect. During lunch I ran to Crayola to get a gift for my bf's goddaughter. After work we drove to NJ to see his gd for her birthday. She wanted to go to Skyzone.... so we forgot that we are out of shape and jumped on trampolines for an hour. My ankle gave out a few times so I didn't do anything crazy... my bf on the other hand... he decided to do flips and bounce off the walls. I don't think he is making it out of bed today. Then we went out to eat and let gd open her gifts. She loved all the art supplies and wanted to start coloring immediately. We then helped tuck her in and then went home, where I made two dozen cookies.
We have a cookie swap at work today. I made Guinness chocolate chocolate cookies.
I have to leave work early for a dentist appointment. They need to add a few more buttons to my teeth and I think space out my bottom so they adjust correctly. Ugh, this is the downside of the invisalign.

Good news: sensitivity in my mouth is not from bad cavity
Bad news: likely from another cavity or inflamed gums.
I don't know until June if I have to have a root canal and my jaw still hurts from dentist last night.
For a month - A FREAKING MONTH! - I have said "oh I only need to get 2 gift cards and I'm done shopping!"
Well ... guess who has not bought those gift cards yet and is running out of time because I need them by Sunday! *sigh*
I'm getting my teacher to email me my mark from the exam because I have zero time left to do my running around before Sunday except for tonight.
This week:
tonight: run around for gift cards and left over stocking stuffers and food.
thursday: dinner with my mum, wrapping Matt's gifts
friday: shortened coffee date with friends, then likely on my own because Matt wants to see "Krampus" - So I'll be watching Quantico while wrapping
Saturday: serious baking. I have to make 3 sets of snowballs(cookies), lemon bars, brownies and reese cookies! Then at night we're going to a friend's place for pre xmas stuff.
Sunday is family pre-xmas buffet dinner ....

I just feel frustrated today. I had two trucks cut me off when I was trying to merge on the highway this morning, the first one sped up rather than give me room to get on and the second one merged into the same lane I wanted to merge into and cut me off completely so I was pretty pissed.
I'm hoping to make it to the post office in a little bit so I can stand in line for one million hours and then pay 11 billion dollars to mail the packages filled with all of the Christmas presents for my ILs. I also need to buy stocking stuffers for H, figure out what in the hell I'm getting my dad for Christmas, and make some returns/exchanges. There are just not enough hours in the day anymore....ughhhh.
