Christmas was good! My parents' family celebrated on Christmas Eve. We finally named my mom's kitten - he's Bentley. Sherlock was a close second, but even my mom agreed we couldn't name a cat who stands in his water bowl to drink Sherlock. My parents got me a huge fluffy bathrobe that looks like a Jedi robe, and it is so warm and comfy. Christmas lunch was with my parents, H, DB, DB's FI, and my uncle and aunt.

Christmas Day my parents made brunch, then H and I drove to his grandparents' place to celebrate Christmas with them. My secret santa on MIL's side (we drew names for adult gifts - other side of the family, H has too many families) was SIL's FI, and he got me a copy of Compounded, a chemistry game, which I'm really looking forward to trying out. GFIL made ice cream in the afternoon, which was excellent. H and I stayed at my parents' place that night.

H's family learned that SIL is (supposedly) throwing a black tie wedding and wants everyone to wear long dresses. I say "supposedly" because we have to pay for parking and she's not opening the bar, but my dress is nonreturnable and I'm sunk this deep anyway, so I'm dressing up on principle at this point. Many of the women in H's family don't own long dresses. Honestly, she's hit the point of being rude and she's not making friends with her family, but I'm looking forward to being charming. In my own subtle way.

Saturday my mom and I went shopping - I got new shoes for work, yarn to make a Jesse tree (link), yarn to make my mom a functional scarf, yarn to make my mom a fun scarf, and some other odds and ends.

Yesterday H and I watched football all day. I was pretty amazed by how badly the Panthers and Packers played, and I'm not sure Eli Manning knows which team he plays for, either.

Tonight we'll watch MNF and probably clean up the living room.

@GoldenPenguin - I love that picture of you and your nephew! You look so beautiful and happy!!! Also, I don't think its unusual at all to want a pregnancy pillow for every day life. It is like a giant hug.

@KeptInStitches - I love that name! Bentley is perfect! Also, your SIL is rude. I feel like no one really understands what black tie means on the hosting side anymore. I hope you rock your dress though and can't wait to see pictures.

It's going to be really hard for me to keep track of responses this week because I don't normally use mobile.

Weekend/Christmas highlights:
1. I got Rock Band (and it is currently downloading)
2. I got to go on two gorgeous hikes in the snow.
3. Everyone got along relatively well.
4. The food was incredible this year. Crown pork roast, yum!

ETA: I wasn't trying to post yet but this is too hard without a keyboard so I give up. I really need to buy a laptop!

I'm here, and already bored. There are 6 people total in my office today..... I retract that statement, there is a lot of drama. I just spent the past hour in a conference room trying deal with all the drama.

@jenna8984 I'm glad you were able to spend time with your family, even if your grandfather went on a political rant. And yay for your brother possible growing up!

Christmas was really nice, crazy, but nice. Christmas Eve we were running errands all day. We stopped at Tractor Supply to get special bones for Callie and they had Christmas trees for $8. Since we hadn't decorated for Christmas, my bf decided to buy one. It ended up being a really nice tree. We had dinner with his parents and then went to church. After church we were up till 1am decorating our tree.

Christmas day, we woke up super early to exchange gifts with each other before going to breakfast at my mom's. Callie loved her smoked bones and ignored us the rest of the morning. My bf got me a white gold pendant necklace. I love it so much and haven't taken it off since. My mom went crazy with breakfast, but it was all so good. My brother had me for SS and he got me a bunch of cards against humanity packs (all the holidays, 90s, science, house of cards, and the reject pack). My stepdad loved my packing tape wrapping, and it took him a good 10 minutes to open the box. My stepdad got each of us a google cardboard. So we spent most of the day playing virtual reality games. My bf loves it so much he asked me to order one for his dad.

After my mom's we went to my bf's parents' house. We had a late lunch of filet mignon and lobster with them and my bf's grandparents. His mom made enough food for 20 and they were gone all weekend so told us to have dinner there Saturday so none of the food would go bad (we did and there's still a lot leftover). His parents gave me a yellow gold chain necklace and his grandparents gave me these gorgeous snowflake earrings. They loved the photo coasters we had made for them (his parents and grandparents).

From there we drove upstate to my aunt & uncle's. We had told them not to wait for us to have dinner. When we walked in the door everyone had just sat down, so we nibbled a little bit on some fish and pierogies. I think the gift I love the most is from my aunt, she got me a handheld vacuum so I can finally get rid of the dog hair on the couches and steps. Never thought I'd be excited for a vacuum.

The rest of the weekend we relaxed. Last night we finally went to go see Mockingjay. I liked that it was closest to the book, but was still missing a lot.

Well, today is only the first day I'm really using it. So far I like it. I miss my other one being small and able to fit in my purse, though. I'm using some of the free stickers that came with it (birthdays, doc appts, vacation) so that's fun. I'm not sure I'll get as much crazy use out of it as some of the bloggers, though. We'll see, that could change! I don't use it much for work right now, but since this one is bigger and has more room to write, I could start putting in meetings and stuff.

It's like 9" tall (including the plastic cover) and 8" wide (including the spiral ring) and 3/4" thick.

We're supposed to get snow here tomorrow too. I woke up in Maine yesterday to some snow on the ground and I was so excited!! It's time!!
