Im a bit lost as to what to do.
We mailed out STD's so thats done. Yesterday I had all intentions on getting Coach wristlets for my 2 girls but when I walked into the store and the lady handed me a coupon I nearly lost it...half off you say?! AND another 30% off you say?!
I looked and looked, I swear haha, for wristlets but they were all ugly...so I bought myself a lil somethin somethin instead.

So Im back to finding them a gift and still looking for coral table runners. What do you all have for this month?

well good news for us the venue that we had issues with gave us a new coordinator since old one (one dealing with) is on her way out . thank god , they are throwing in a dj/band or steel drums instead of 850. we are doing a luau reception. they are throwin in tiki bar too.

so now they are going to work with us and they are preparing the contract

1) I'll probably get to work on our paper star lanterns

2) We have to make a payment for our reception (25% GAG!)

3) I need to work on breaking in my shoes

So my intended list is as follows
1)Mail the STDs
2)Ask ushers
3)Start timeline for bridal party (I am nearly done and have a template!)
4)Make master timeline, shot lists, other organizational lists
5) If I'm lucky, make my card box

Thats A LOT!! Can you send them half now and half later? We owe 5k in January and it gives me angina every time I think about it ...

My list is pretty small right now too. I've got to put a deposit on the florist, order STDs (after my photographer gives me final edits on a few more images so I can decide which one), get on my mom and FMIL about getting addresses for their guests, and schedule bridesmaid dress shopping with my girls.

Wow, none of our vendors, reception site included, require any more payments until between 3 weeks to the day of the ceremony. They all recommend making payments every month so its not so much at the end, btut otherwise we can just pay all at the end

.

I really dont know what we have to do this month. nothing major really. We will get the favors ready which wont take long if we do a few bunches a night. We cant complete them until right before cause we are adding skittles and they wont keep opened until July.

I am finding a bunch of idea on Pinterest so we will look at all of that. We are having a killer time with the guest lits, but i dont think that will be finalized until march.

BTW, does anyone know how to do an idea board type thing in your siggy? I wanna take pics of the things we've done and chosen and put it in a large sectioned box in the siggy( well if I can ever figure out how to do my original siggy of course).

Wow ladies. Now I feel blessed. Our venue only required a deposit of $500 when we first inquired, and 5 months alter when we decided to book, they had added the room fee of $1000 ( discounted due to being on Friday) to the deposit, making the deposit $1500 total (about 40 % down) within 90 days of booking. We had to put the $500 down at signing and $1000 later, but with an Dec 19th deadline, I was worried about Christmas. This month I'm trying to Get e ring insured Finish website (98% complete) Finish invite pocketfolds Finish gift toasting glasses Redo hotel block Redo cake design and order Start purchasing gm gifts ( pocketwatches) Get wedding decor leftover from my MOH Start on flower stands Redeem groupon VP and place orders (std, wp gifts, invite envelopes, etc.) Completing body cleanse and started insanity once a week. I'm suppose to be booking a band this month according what I'm reading, but I'm not going to. I'm going to wait until the next year. If needed I have a professional saxophonist on reserve as plan b.

We have our stds but are still gathering addresses; hoping to get those out within a couple weeks. We just finalized our honeymoon plans, got a wedding block for guests, and started planning out our ceremony music with the musician. We still need an officiant and a few other things like figuring out bouquets. Luckily my venue provides flowers for the tables so it helps a lot. Other than that just trying to save money and get some DIY things done.

~Get my girls thinking about dresses! (I'm thinking about using weddingtonway.com, not necessarily to purchase from, but to get an idea of what everyone's thinking since my BMs are all over California so we won't be able to get all together...)
~Have MY first dress fitting!

Cringe worthy deposits for the month:
50% to Caterer (half my current wedding fund savings, oh hi there, goodbye!)
50% to Photographer (not quite so drastic, but when you add it to the caterer...ahhhh)

I am feeling overwhelmed this month... 9 months doesn't seem that far away, and we still have a ton of things left to do!

My top priority right now is to get our STD's mailed out. After that, ordering my dress and helping FI figure out what his GM will be wearing.

Other things we still have to do include: invites, officiant, flowers, cake, chair and linen rentals.

   - Mailed STD's this morning
   - Finish asking bridal party
   - Order color samples from cardsandpockets
   - Work on invitation mockup/Order invites file
   - Keep waiting for estimate from florist
   - Schedule appt for BM dresses, Moms dress and alterations for my dress
   - Look into bakers

Plenty for that needs to get done but this is a good start for now

Reading everyone's to do list for this month has me super nervous. I am not nearly as far ahead as many of you. Need to pay for the venue. It's only 625 but I haven't made the deposit yet. He has us down on his calendar and if someone else inquires about it he will let us know I also need to find a DJ My caterer doesn't require a down payment but I need to apply for a payment card which is where I can make small payments to it My mom will finish paying for my dress on Friday. She will also be meeting with the photographer. I would really like to finish up the guest list. I am waiting on information from my future in laws.

I am not as far ahead either! I just met with a florist today and I'm definitely going to use her...we haven't signed a contract yet but she's reserving my date. I have to get my bridesmaids' dresses so I can figure out exactly what color flowers I want. My fiance's parents know a DJ that is willing to do our wedding for a really cheap price, so I have to talk to him and see if I need to give him a deposit or sign a contract or anything. Other things I'd really like to start thinking about...buying invites (probably a DIY kit from Michael's), buying a wedding band for my fiance, and maybe start a registry somewhere. I feel like 9 months isn't really that long of a time, and I feel like there's still so much to do!

I'm impressed with everyone's lists of things completed...We're (I'm) about half-way through what most of you have done:

Deposit on venue
Deposit to caterer
Deposit to photographer
STDs being designed
Inquiries out to florists and officiants

I have plenty of DIY items to work on, but I feel like its too soon to start and I'll just end up with wedding crap all over our house waiting for July to get here!
