Wedding Woes

Since there are more people here now: what's for lunch?

I'm asking because I didn't bring anything today, so I have to figure something out.  Preferably something healthy.  I'm all stuffed up, so I can't smell, and thus not much taste and not much appetite.  You know when you're hungry but you don't have a taste for anything?  That's me.

  • I made a this on Tuesday and will have it for lunch the third time this week.

  • Not sure - probably something from Wegmans, since I have to get groceries on lunch. I'm thinking that a buffalo chicken sub sounds good.
  • Leftover chicken from last night and garlic quinoa rice stuff I got from Costco.

Is it the bag you microwave?  My kids eat that UP.  I make it for them when DH and I are having potatoes.

ETA: my kids won't eat potatoes.
  • I just ate some pizza. But that was breakfast and because I took my meds, that means I won't have an appetite for lunch.
  • A yogurt and a granola bar, scarfed awkwardly between meetings. More awkward because people inevitably stop in when I've just taken a massive bite, to ask questions pre/post meeting.

YES! My kids weren't big fans of it.  I think if I salt and pepper it next time, it may go over better.

What the what at your kids not eating potatoes?  Not even a fry?  What about piled high with cheese and bacon?  OMG, now I want one of those giant spuds from McAllister's deli.
  • Not sure.  Maybe just yogurt.   I have a leftover quesadilla that I could eat.

I work from home, so basically whatever I grab.

DH works from Thursday - Sunday nights these days.  I tend to eat light the days he is at work because on his days off we tend to eat more and heavier meals.

  • @glasgowtolondon,  I'm so jealous of your lunch.  Now I want butter chicken.  I think I have PMS right now because ALL THE FOOD sounds amazing to me and I feel like I need it all in my life right now.
  • @glasgowtolondon butter chicken is one of my most favorite foods. H is doing this Whole30 diet for the month of January but as soon he's done with it, we're getting indian food for dinner.
  • Just to drop in casually that I'm in India for work right now so my lunch was butter chicken, paneer masaala, yellow dahl, and saag aloo. Had to be rolled back to the office and could have killed for an afternoon nap but I'd do it again.

I would marry Wegmans if there was one in my area and polygamy was legal.   LOVE that place.

Nice humblebrag there.  I hate you! :-P  That sounds so good.  Now I want Indian food ><

I was thinking of getting a Caesar salad and soup from Panera, but that might not cut it.  I might *have* to get tacos or a burrito from Qdoba, even though I'm supposed to be on a diet.

  • I didn't bring a lunch today and ate 2 day old donuts about 10 minutes ago. I don't even know why, I wasn't hungry, they were just sitting there being all 'you know you're going to eat us eventually might as well do it now' :/
  • @ThxSugar - I also ate 2 day old donuts (well, donut holes) this morning. No shame.

@PrettyGirlLost - Wegmans is the most magical place. I spend more money there than anywhere else. I've told H repeatedly that I will never live more than 30 minutes from a Wegmans because I'm spoiled like that.
  • I made a ham sandwich and I have one of those salad kit things. An Asian salad that's pretty good. I need to cook tonight because I'm out of leftovers.

  • Turkey and green beans. Boo

  • I'm stopping at Newk's since it's near my PT, and bringing something back to the office. I usually get the Mediterranean pizza, so probably that. From the website:
Sliced flame-grilled chicken breast, ripe Roma tomatoes, imported kalamata olives, artichoke hearts, crunchy pepperoncinis, diced red onion, crumbled feta cheese and house-shredded mozzarella.

Every pizza comes on its own crispy, golden, 10-inch crust made of hand-rolled dough. We brush the dough with garlic-infused olive oil to make it extra crispy.
  • I had leftover frozen pizza from dinner last night. It was made right after DH and I had a long discussion about cleaning up our eating habits. #winning

  • @mrs.conn- they'll eat fries sometimes, but it's the last thing they eat in a happy meal.  If we sit down somewhere they'll pick applesauce or carrots more often than fries. It makes me question if they're mine sometimes.

Max asked for that rice for his bday dinner.
  •  Holy Kale Green Smootie... :/

I seriously miss Wegmqns more than my family sometimes.

I also forgot my lunch, campus is icy, and we had a delayed start because of the winter storm. So not only did I have walk out of my office to get lunch in the cold, but I had to walk/slide to the student center because it's the only place open. At least they had potatoe bacon soup.
  • I went with a coworker to one of those bar/grill places and got a salad with buffalo chicken tenders and vinaigrette dressing.. yum. Better than what I've been eating for lunch this week- sunbutter and jelly sandwiches (DH is allergic to peanuts so I don't eat them to be safe).
  • I got a prepackaged salad at Harris Teeter because it was right where I was running errands.  Lame.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll be home having a snow day, enjoying grilled cheese and tomato soup.
  • Chef salad and baked Cheetos.  It wasn't bad

Yup the bolded statement is totally true for me sometimes! I would always talk about Wegmans to DH and he's like it's a grocery store get over it but the first time I took him to one he got it and now he wishes we had one!

I had star wars SpaghettiOs. I know it's crazy but yes I think eating a yoda shaped SpaghettiO tastes better than an O. Same applies to mac-n-cheese but we are saving for a house so it's elbows for me... the star wars SpaghettiOs were on sale though so I couldn't resist :P
