What's going on this weekend?

I have plans to do a whole lot of nothing this weekend. In fact, I probably won't even leave my house other than to go to church on Sunday.

What's up with you guys this weekend?

  • Grading papers.

  • Snow, apparently. Like I whined about in the snow post, my birthday party was supposed to be this weekend, but we had to cancel. The good news is we already bought all the liquor for it, so we can still enjoy that. And I made FI get the ingredients for the salsa I was really looking forward to making/eating for the party. So still food and drink - yay!

Oh, and football! Rooting for Peyton (though victory seems unlikely) and I guess the Panthers?
  •  I have a funeral five hours away tomorrow. I'm hoping that we will come back that same night, but my dad might want to stay. :/

Sunday I plan to do not a damn thing besides watch football. I intend to not even wear a bra.

OH YEAH! I forgot that that game is this weekend. Perfect. Definitely pulling for Peyton over here too.

    Sorry about the funeral :(

But I support the no bra thing. In my home, we call it sports bra sunday.

Good. He needs all the support he can get.
  • I think I will go skiing sometime.

Other than you standard laundry, vacuum, dust and bathroom chores.

I should  finish my wine bottle jigsaw puzzle too.

If I'm home, I'm always in no bra unless we have company Why would I need it at home?

  • We're looking at a house tonight. I'm getting a pedi tomorrow and then football on Sunday. Oh, and I suppose I'll vacuum at some point. H is going to have to pick up the slack when I have surgery, so I guess I shouldn't really complain too much.

Yeah, no bra when I'm home either. I may not even get out of my PJs if I'm just watching TV!

  • I am very excited because this is the first weekend in more than a year and a half that I will have a "real" weekend.

Since I started my current job, I have worked Tuesday through Saturday. We added a new position identical to mine recently, and since I have seniority, I get the better schedule.

I don't know what we'll do. If it's a nice day, hopefully we'll get outside.

Tonight I'm supposed to be meeting up with some friends to go bowling but it depends on how DH feels because he got hurt snow tubing last night.

Tomorrow morning I'm going to an Intro to Pole Dancing lessons with some friends, and then the rest of the weekend is going to be cleaning and maybe some meal prep/food shopping. I did a ton of laundry last weekend but I will probably have to do some more this weekend.

ETA- fortunately I'm far enough north that it looks like we aren't getting any snow from this big storm- a nice change from usual!

I'm sorry to hear about the funeral SSC :(

Do not wear a bra on Sunday. Or ever when you're home. It's the first thing to go when I walk in the door.

  • I'm working my shift until tomorrow morning, then hopefully I'll be able to make it home in the snow. I don't want to jinx myself, but so far we have really only done home checks. Tomorrow will probably consist of trying to keep the snow down in the driveway so we don't have too much to do at once. FI works midnights this rotation so I'll be home by myself unless we don't have power; then I'll have to trudge down the street to my parents' house (they stay in the RV when there's no power). However, the whole ditching the bra thing is super enticing, so here's hoping that we don't lose power and I can stay home!

  • Add me to the "no bra at home" club.

I don't have any formal plans right now. Probably a movie tonight. I have to leave Sunday for a business trip.

I have serious winter doldrums. All we do is go to work and go to the gym and then sit at home watching TV. Or at least it feels that way even that's not totally accurate. Boring.

  • H is stuck in NC because his flight home tonight was cancelled. He isn't going to get home now until Sunday (hopefully). So tonight I'm going out with some friends. We were suppose to go to a fund raising Ball tomorrow night but no go since H won't be home. Kind of bummed, it was going to be an event where I could wear my dress from DD's wedding! I'll probably just stay home with the pups and read. They will be happy to have my lap where they can sleep.
  • I am super excited for the weekend! Unlike all you east coast people, the Pacific Northwest is currently sunny and in the 60's... Seems like the weather keeps flip-flopping.

I leave for H's family "Board" meeting - as in, snowboarding - on Monday. About 15 family members converge in Bend, OR for a week of raucous fun. H works tomorrow, and he is actually driving to Bend on Sunday, so tomorrow will be house cleaning, grocery shopping, and packing. H's aunt and uncle are going to stay at our house tomorrow night, since their drive from their home to Bend is, like, 10 hours. So we'll probably drink and play cards with them tomorrow, and then they and H will caravan out to Bend.

I only work a half day on Monday before I fly out to meet them. Super stoked for vacation, and the snow in the Cascades has been amazing this winter!

  • 12 hours at a cheer competition.  Whee!!  And my first assignment for one class, which is listed at 15 pages in the syllabus, now has the option of going up to 30 pages should we need it.  FML

  • This is my bad chemo weekend.  Definitely no bra.  I've learned to cook in advance so we have leftovers that I can warm up in the microwave.  Uuuhhhh.

  • am I the only one who doesn't do braless days?   Bras just don't bother me.  Well some do, but then I put on one that doesn't.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Sending up some prayers for you.

I'm pretty large chested (36 DDD), so it doesn't really matter what bra I wear. They almost all end up being uncomfortable after a while!

I'm 38DD, so not really that much smaller.       They just do not bother me.   Maybe I'm a freak of nature.

  • Snow and football. We were supposed to move this weekend but the storm made that pretty impossible. We're doing a lot of cleaning and paint touch ups of our old place.

And drinking wine. Straight out of the bottle because all of our glasses are packed.
  • Sniffly with a cold tonight, so just staying in and watching Netflix with FI and the dog.

Saturdays are always busy chore days, so I actually kind of hate them. I wake up early and tutor until 11:30, then FI and I plan meals for the week, grocery shop accordingly, review the weekly budget, and tidy the house/ do laundry. In theory those things shouldn't take too long, but it always seems to be 5 or 6 by the time we're done.

Sundays are study days, but at least I can pretty much just stay home and stay in pajamas to read except for going to church (we have evening services tho, which is nice).

I have one of my good childhood friends stopping on her way through town tomorrow for lunch, though, so I am looking forward to that. She has not met FI yet, but I have asked her to be a reader at our ceremony, so it will be nice for them to get acquainted briefly.

  • I used to be very large breasted.  Not so sexy.  More like Ma Kettle.  Bras were not optional.  After my mastectomy, reconstruction and reduction on the other breast, I'm downright perky!  Going braless would be fun, except it attracts the attention of DH, who is ALWAYS around the house.  "Dammit, I don't feel well today!  Leave me alone!"

  • @CMGragain, good luck this weekend! I remember spending one weekend with my dad after a brutal round of chemo, and it was rough. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

  • This chemo is mild compared to some.  I just get sick to my stomach, and feel like a cloud is surrounding me, keeping me from reality.  It only last for a couple of days every three weeks.  Kind of like getting a period, if I can remember what that was like!
    Thanks for the good wishes.

About bras:  I had to buy new ones recently, due to my weight loss.  Has anybody tried these super comfortable Bali "Comfort Revolution" bras?  They feel wonderful.  DD won't consider them.  She is insistent on her favorite Victoria's Secret bras, but I can't wear underwires, due to scarring from radiation.  I really love these new ones because they are so comfortable around my back.  DD did not inherit her breast size from me!
