Song to get everyone on the dance floor

hello. So I have been to a few weddings where once the bride and groom are done with their first dance song they play a song to get the entire crowd on the dance floor and get the party started. Has any one else been to a wedding where this is done? And if so do you have any suggestions?

I know it is used a lot, but at daughter's wedding, when Etta James starting singing "At Last", everyone with a partner jumped up and danced, even the old folks.

Addie's got great links. This is also know your crowd. Our party started with some current Top 40 hits, as that's what is easy and fun for our friends. Some people might hate that. Evaluate who you think is most likely to start dancing first anyway and think about what music a lot of your guests like.

Depends on your crowd. Old, young? We started off with some oldies but goodies that got everyone moving. "Twist" - Chubby Checker, "Oh What a Night" - Four Seasons, "Twist and Shout" - the Beatles, "Do you Love Me?" - The Contours, "Signed Sealed Delivered" - Stevie Wonder.

We decided on "Something to Talk About" by Bonnie Raitt for our get-on-the-floor song, and then "Footloose" (Kenny Loggins' original but Blake Shelton's cover would work too) if people still are sitting down.
