I wanted to post these sooner, but the past few weeks have been nuts. Pretty much everything that could have gone wrong did, but I'm still happy. It snowed several feet and we went into state of emergency the night before and the day of the wedding! Other things that went wrong like my hair, my dress not fitting, etc. I got over pretty quickly. I thought of you guys the day before, though. During the rehearsal, officiant suggested we get "legally married" that night in case she couldn't the next day. MIL and SMIL were flipping out and I reminded H our friend who is ordained was already here and could sign tomorrow if necessary (she told us months ago if something happened she would gladly step in).
My DOC was amazing and somehow helped make the day wonderful. My photographer and his assistant were also super awesome and even coached H and I through the cake cutting (we were clueless and nervous that we would ruin it). The ceremony was very nice. H cried a lot, which surprised me because him and I are incredibly unemotional at stuff like this. The reception was a ton of fun, food was delicious, drinks were abundant, and we all danced. Plus, since many people couldn't come last minute, we all got extra French macarons for dessert, cake, and chocolate favors. DJ even started off with "White Wedding" by Billy Idol, which caused my boss and her family to go nuts on the dance floor. We had several people tell us it was the best wedding they had ever been to, which shocked me and made me feel really good about the stress H and I went through.
