*eye roll*

What's making you roll your eyes lately?

Saw this on my FB newsfeed today:

"I am sending out wedding invitations today! Enclosed will be an RSVP card with a stamp on it! Please send those back to me with how many people are coming in your party! Thank you guys and I can't wait to see everyone in May!"

Why do you need to announce that you are sending your invites out? You absolutely do not need to instruct people how to use an RSVP. I'm so ready for this wedding to be over because all she does is post this type of stuff about it.

Re: *eye roll*

  • I saw the most ridiculous facebook wedding post yet the other day. This girl "announced" her bridal party with a facebook post! Like, that's how she asked them. It said:

So I know not everyone has been "formally" asked but yall know and I think it's due time I announced my dream team for my wedding. Besides getting to marry the love of my life, [FI], which already makes me the luckiest girl I get to have these amazing chicks by my side (hopefully) keeping my crazy ass sane. *drum roll please*

And then she listed the people and thanked them. WHAT.
  • "dream team". Barf.

I can't with the dream team. You're planning a fucking party. Get over it.

I rolled my eyes at a FB friend, someone I went to high school with. Someone in her household took a whole 2 minute video of her finding out that her dress had been delivered to the house. She was "oh my god"-ing all over the place and really emotional. The dress was in the dress bag and she hugged it and all that.

She's a nice person overall, but sheesh. '

ETA- I have to roll my eyes at myself that I even watched the video, but, ya know, can't tear my eyes away and all that.

@thisismynickname, I eye roll how everything has to be recorded these days.  I'm obnoxious with photos, admittedly, but don't get the need to have  everything on video.

  • @nerdwife , a good friend of mine announced her BP in a similar way but I think she did ask them first.  I thought "OK I get it.  Just because you were my BM doesn't mean I'll be yours but why announce it?"

I saw a family member later who rolled her eyes at the post.   I love the girl and am happy to attend as a guest but I loathe some of the FB shenanigans.
  • @thisismynickname An old college acquaintance of mine posted a similar video. Except it was her with a fresh pee stick in hand singing to her husband Salt & Peppa "what a man" because of the line "I wanna have yo baby". And posted how she is 4 weeks pregnant. REALLY?! REALLY?!

  • There does seem to be a lot to eye roll today. I guess its hump day.

  • Someone on facebook announced they will be giving out trucker hats as party favors. Trucker hats. But there will be an airbrush station to customze them. Oh boy!

Someone on facebook posted that they want to have a backwards wedding to reduce the chances that people will get drunk.

Umm...not sure how throwing the party first will stop people from hitting the bottle and again, why people care if people get tipsy/buzzed/drunk at a party.

But the best is she plans to have sparklers for the exit.  Summer Day Drinking + Sparklers = bad idea
My brother set his shirt on fire with a sparkler when he was 2.  He had a mosquito bite that was itchy, and he didn't put the sparkler down before he tried to scratch it.
  • Similar to dream team, any post that has the hashtags #squadgoals or #mybridesmaidsarebetterthanyours will get one big eye roll

  • A FB friend (sadly were distantly related) posted a photo of two large pieces of paper (this big teacher paper taped to the wall) with a large A at the top of one and B at the top of the other with her and her FI standing next to them with markers. The caption was something about Guest lists planning with organized FI.

omg is their wedding a time machine back to 2002 ?!?!?

    Or the 70's?

Are they using an El Camino for their getaway vehicle?

I would have immediately unfriended them. Pee sticks on FB are one of the many things that grind my gears. charlotte989875 said:

Wait - posting pee sticks is a thing??!
  • this isn't wedding-related but I did just see something about a GoFundMe for Kanye West who is in need of $53M https://www.gofundme.com/kanyesmedicis

I suppose I'm not shocked after his begging tweets.

Who in the hell already contributed to the $910 raised so far???
  • I saw on facebook a picture of a bride using the toilet in her gown and her MOH helping her hold her dress. They were both smiling and posing for the photographer. It was all bad.

Yes. Yes it is. What's more gross is that they took the picture when it happened and waited a couple months to post the picture to announce their pregnancy to Facebook land. It's one thing to take a picture of the pee stick (I would never do it, but hey, people like to save moments). It's another to wait months to share with other people. On what planet does anyone think that 250 former acquaintances want to see something you peed on?
I've also heard of people saving the stick and having it framed in a shadowbox type frame.
    The mind boggles.

Where is the WTF button when you need it? I can't even.

Whoa. I'm rolling my eyes so hard at this, I'm afraid they might pop out.

It also makes me wonder about the custom framer who says "yes, I will handle your pee stick for you and turn it into wall art." Gross.
  • I can beat that. Here is a direct quote from a wedding website that was shared on FB recently:

"To give all our guest the opportunity to relax and have a good time with no worries we politely request no children."

Hmm, wonder how old Kanye is going to pay the taxes on that 53 million.

  • WW is posting "engagement stories" on Instagram and today's is a proposal in a rain room (this exist apparently).

Am I the only one who doesn't find being stuck in the rain, let alone paying to stand in fake rain, romantic?
