Morning everyone!

Last night I had a ton of stuff to do when I got home, so I did all that. BF got home around 7ish and the poor thing was having a meltdown. He just said he had a ton of stuff on his mind and he just needed to vent. We had a good talk and he walked away feeling better. Today after work I have to vote, run to the grocery store, and then head home and do Zumba!

Re: Tunes Tuesday!

  • Ugh I really don't feel good today. We had a seriously crazy weekend. Callie came down with a cold Friday and it developed into an ear infection diagnosed yesterday afternoon. She hasn't slept since Friday so we are all exhausted. She is on antibiotics so hopefully it's cleared in the next couple of weeks.

    @southernpeach89 Big big hugs!!! Hopefully the antibiotics clear up her infection soon so you can all rest! <3

  • @labro - I felt so crazy-productive.  H handled all the dishes and cleaning up the kitchen for me, but I actually cooked dinner.  I mean, it was frozen meatballs and jarred sauce but it's SOMETHING.  Woo-hoo!!

    @southernpeach89 - Poor Callie, and poor parents.  I hope she starts feeling better ASAP.

    @minskat30 - I have an appointment this afternoon.  I will find out more about bed rest (hopefully I can come to work, because I can only work part-time from home and my paycheck is the primary source of income) and most likely hear a HECK NO about our trip to CA next week.  They won't check on the placenta again until at least 28 weeks, unless I have a bleed and end up in the ER.  Also, I think that I'm gaining really fast, too... but my doctor tells me that my blood pressure is great, and the protein and glucose checks from my urine look great, and she will tell me if she starts getting concerned.  For reference, I've gained 20 lbs at 20 weeks on a 4'10" frame.  I hope that makes you feel a little bit better.  That, and FF told me this week: "In the next ten weeks your weight gain will increase more rapidly as your baby grows and develops layers of fat. This is when you will gain about half of your total pregnancy weight."  Now THAT freaks me out.
  • @caseface5 - Glad your new superintendent starts today!

    @southerneapch89 - Hugs to Callie, you, and H. That sounds awful. I hope it clears up soon.

    @minskat30 - Definitely call the doctor, especially if she indicated it was abnormal at all. Keep us posted and don't worry about venting too much!

    Morning all! I just voted and am WFH today so I'm happy. H is in the middle of a 16 day stretch fro work, so I haven't seen him in forever.

    KitchenAid sent me a new mixer.....in RED. I ordered silver as my replacement. WTF. Now silver is out of stock so I got white. Also our cable box keeps ordering OnDemand movies on its own. We have to keep calling the cable company to get them credited to our bill and now we have to go to the service center to get a new cable box. Frustrating.

    That's about all I've got.

    @labro - I haven't had the glucose test yet...my doctor tests at 28 weeks unless you are high risk or overweight before pregnancy.  I'm 26 weeks so 2 more weeks to go.  I did just get off the phone with a nurse and put a message in for the doctor and part of that message was to ask if I could go ahead and get tested early.

    @cocobellaf - I'm sorry the CA trip is likely out.  :(  I know how much you were looking forward to that.  That does make me feel a little better...I also hadn't read that in FF.  I'm at 22-23lb up at 26 weeks, which doesn't worry me really.  What worries me is the pattern of the last month and a half (14lb in that time frame).  My blood pressure is good so that is encouraging but my doctor was surprised at 9lb in a month and I know the 5lb in the last two weeks will be a surprising to her too.  I hate bugging her about stuff but, frankly, I just want to make sure I'm not being irresponsible or anything about eating carbs/sugar if I shouldn't be.

    @jenjen047 - I left a message for the doctor.  I've been really good about not calling them too much or pestering them but this is stressing me out too much to wait another 2 weeks to find out...I really want to get the GD test just to rule that out.

    @swazzle - Thank you, the nurse I spoke to said that water retention can be rapid like this in pregnancy but I should talk to the doctor.  Hopefully she calls soon and can give me some peace of mind.
  • @cocobellaf - You are wonder woman! Sending positive thoughts for your dr appt today!

    @minskat30 - Everything's crossed for you!

    @untouchablets - Happy early birthday!

    @cu97tiger I meant to ask the other day but how is your nephew doing? Also I love Bleeding Love too! How did I forget about that song?

    @TwoDimes Good thing we both caught that. ;)

  • @minskat30 Hopefully doc calls you back and lets you test early and everything is fine and normal! My friend gained 30 lbs PER trimester! Obviously, not advisable but she and the baby are completely healthy and she's lost about 75 of it.

    @cocobellaf Woohoo to getting shit done!! fingers crossed for your appt today and CA trip

    @southernpeach89 Hope the meds work soon and Callie gets better and you all get sleep.

    @misskittydanger welcome back, glad you had a great honeymoon! H & I are lunatics when it comes to sunblock and re-applying

    @jenjen047 that is so annoying with your cable. Similar keeps happening at my OB appointments- they keep submitting my lab work with the wrong insurance info (H's name is the primary) and it gets rejected and sends me a bill and I have to keep re-submitting the correct insurance info. They go through and I don't have to pay once I give them the info but I've told the office to update theirs 5 times and they just keep telling me that they have and it's correct in the system. I'm like clearly it's not when I get a bill after every fucking visit.

  • @jenna8984  We put some on before the dolphins but I'm not sure if it's we didn't put on enough or just didn't reapply. Mine didn't hurt but Matt's shoulders were tender. Serves us right ;)

    @beachyone15 My experience with cats is nothing stops them. My FIL traps them in his backyard and delivers them all to the local Humane Society because nothing else has worked.

    Last night I drove myself crazy comparing different carpet types. We finally received our carpeting samples and I have one more vendor coming Friday to give us a quote and then I think I'll make a decision on who we want to hire. Anyway, the three samples to the left are all from Home Depot and I don't recognize the brand. They are all a high-pile loop (Berber) carpet made with nylon. They are super soft and I really like them but I think we aren't going to select this because the high loops would easily catch on snags on my shoes or more importantly, the dog's claws. The two samples to the right are Shaw flooring samples. They are a cut and loop style meaning it's primarily cut carpet with a subtle loop pattern worked in. It's also super soft (made with nylon), and the pile is medium high. Maybe I'm just so used to a patterned carpet (the lovely funfetti below everything, it's a low pile Berber) that I can't get away from that but I just think plain cut carpets look super boring.

    I actually don't MIND some color in my carpet....but our current carpet went overboard with all the color. A few sprinkles yes, the rainbow? No.

  • @labro - Our HOA recommended calling animal control. I just didn't want to resort to that if it's someone's pet. But it's very frustrating.
