  • This all sounds a little too weird! I'd say no, but if you feel the need to compromise or keep the peace, I'd offer some alternatives. Cocktails and appetizers, or a post wedding brunch. Something low-key with none of the re-enactments.

    Thanks. That is exactly what we negotiated (attending an annual holiday cocktail party) as I mentioned in my post above yours. Very low key and none of the trappings of a wedding.
  • Good job! I was thinking she shouldn't get to invite any friends unless she's paying for their meals, a difference in price for getting a larger venue, etc. but the cocktail party is a much better option!
