Anyone else on the tired train?

I pulled into my driveway yesterday after work and since it was nice, H had the porch open for the kids and this was my view of the porch door:

He got himself stuck and was mid-yell. And like any good mom, I couldn't help but take a picture before I attempted to un-stuck him. And Lucy's just standing there like "I SWEAR IT WASN'T ME."

I had a nice dinner with my family last night for my aunt's birthday! I spent WAY more money than I expected and honestly that was kind of bullshit and annoying but what's done is done. I ended up getting seared scallops with steamed veggies and a house salad (well within my daily points!) and everything was delicious! I got home and basically went straight to bed.

I got up early again this morning and worked out! Today was Speed 1.0 and it was TOUGH. God, I am so fucking out of shape! I'll get there though. There was also some stretching involved throughout which felt so good on my tired and sore muscles.

I don't have anything going on today. Just the usual: work, commute, cook, eat, relax, bed. Just do to it allllllllll again tomorrow!

Ugh I'm definitely tired and in a mood today. I'm just so ready to be done with my job and spend every day with Callie. You could call me controlling but I get seriously irritated when I tell my nanny I'm wanting things to be a certain way with Callie in her daily routines and her naps and she is telling me otherwise.

I see the difference in her nap times for when I'm home with her on the weekends and it's super frustrating when Callie takes 2 hour naps with her nanny and 15 minute ones with me. Her nanny lets her sleep in her swing and she has become used to the swinging motion while she sleeps so when I put her down for her naps in her crib on the weekends...she isn't having it. Her nanny is trying to tell me that maybe I'm spoiling her buy holding her too much. I'm trying really hard not to lose my temper. I want to do a trial and error and see if this fixes the issue if she just lets her nap in her crib instead...that will tell me right away if what I assume could be the problem actually is.

UGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! So much frustration!!!!!!!!!!!

I definitely needed CrossFit last night before I see her this afternoon to relieve all my anger.

I wayyy overextended myself with dinner last night. I was craving stuffing, so I got home, baked cornbread, cooked some Italian sausage, and put together a sausage-cranberry cornbread stuffing. I also cooked some sweet potatoes, biscuits, made cranberry sauce, and cooked some turkey tenderloins I had marinated in soy sauce, rosemary, and mustard. It was such a good meal, but not worth being on my feet for an hour and a half!

DH and I watched Girls and Togetherness, then listened to HP in bed for a little while (we're on POA, he's never read the books!!!) before I fell asleep.

My boss is out of town all week, so work is fairly relaxing but I really want to kick ass this week and get some big projects done, since I may be talking to him about my post-baby plans next week (I'm asking for 3 WFH days a week).

@Swazzle - Way to go on getting up early to work out AGAIN!!!

@southernpeach89 - I'm raging for you. SPOILING your infant daughter by HOLDING her too much? People are stupid.

@PamBeesly524 Yes, my husband is in school right now getting his specialist so once he finishes his degree in October, I'll be quitting and staying home full-time with Callie. Callie absolutely Loves her nanny which I'm very grateful for but her nanny is an experience retired daycare director so she has this attitude that she knows best....which irritates me sometimes so it's so frustrating trying to work out these issues with her.

Last night H and I finished moving a bunch of stuff to get ready for the carpet people...who still aren't here and I'm not exactly sure when to expect them. I guess I'll be calling around 10 if they haven't shown up since that is when their business office opens. I'm just tired of living in a pig sty since we had to pack up and move a bunch of stuff. I decided to go ahead and permanently box up some of my books since I don't see much point in unpacking them and then repacking them in a few months. Hopefully I didn't pack any I'll decide I want to read in the near future.

Today is HOPEFULLY carpet installation day. I'll be WFH in our basement area and playing catch up on laundry during break times. Such an exciting life you guys....

If carpet gets finished tonight H and I will work on getting our house back in order so I can take some AW photos (mostly for @GoldenPenguin since she'll be staying in our beautifully repainted guest bedroom)! I also scheduled our contractor to come work on our bathroom in the third week of April so I'll get to AW our new master bathroom in less than a month from today!!!! YAY!

I'm clearly tired today because I'm at work but completely forgot my computer!! Yesterday I forgot my power cord. Waiting for IT to give me a temporary computer so I doubt I'll be on here much today.

Good morning. On the way to work this morning I was devising a plan as to how I might be able to quit my job and go live in Hawaii (or insert other tropical destination here). Adulting is stupid. Maybe I'm just in a bad mood because we had to work for spring break and also have to work on Good Friday.
Anyway, last night H and I had leftover fajitas from the party we hosted Sunday, and it looks like we'll be having more tonight. I also made margaritas which were SO good. I think I've finally found the perfect margarita recipe.
Tonight will be more of the usual. Dinner, cleaning, tv, bed. Ugh.
Anyone know of any cheap tropical vacations? @TwoDimes???

@southernpeach89 - I would be mad too. You're her mommy so obviously the nanny should be listening to what you think is best for your child.

@labro - When we had our carpet fiasco with the dishwasher leak, I quickly learned that dealing with contractors is not fun. It's definitely not as easy as they make it look on all those home reno shows. We had to constantly keep in touch with ours to keep the whole process moving. So annoying.

I came home with a migraine yesterday so my bf got Chinese for dinner. Then I took a long bath and my bf gave me a massage until I felt better. The good news is, since I got the IUD it seems I've only been getting migraines when I'm around my time of the month. I used to get them pretty frequently.

Tonight my mom, step dad, sister, and BIL are coming over for dinner. It's the first time we've invited anyone over. I'm going to make pork chops, applesauce, quinoa, snap peas, and corn for dinner. And then we're going to play board games all night. My youngest sister may stop by when she gets out of class, and no idea if my brother is joining.

@beachyone15 Yeah, I only worry for the carpet installer TBH. The guy we hired for our master bathroom is familiar to me anyway and I think he's trustworthy. I know that if he says he'll be here on x date, he'll be here. Oh well, only 30 more minutes until I can call! I just want this done! I dreamt about carpet installation all last night and I just want it off of my mind!

@TwoDimes Omg every picture I've seen of your nephew he is always SO serious!!! Does he smile yet? Also, I ADORE those bear footsies and his hat!!!

@speakeasy14 Yay for less migraines! Maybe with time they'll go away entirely even! It seemed like for awhile, like most of the first year my periods were generally heavy but the last few months they've lightened up pretty significantly so maybe it's just your body is still figuring stuff out with the IUD.

Can we take a moment for seriousness? My heart is breaking over the attacks in Belgium. I just spoke with all of my coworkers that are there, and they are fine, but very shaken up.

Morning!!

@southernpeach89 I was a nanny for about a year when first moved to NY and I would NEVER tell a parent what to do with their kids! The family I worked for was really strict... All work no fun kind of parents and the kids were school aged... And I disagreed with them a lot but they didn't pay me for that. At least you have a plan! Hang in there

I stepped on the scale this morning and learned that I've lost 5lbs!!! Woo!!

Today I have two new puppy classes starting!! One has a golden retriever and a poodle mix? And the other class has a Tibetan terrier, I have to work really hard to find a classmate for them.

I learned my lesson... No more single puppies for group class rates!! A ton of people have signed up for a group, picked a time slot that had no other puppies signed up, and then for four weeks had class alone. And then when I merge a class with another because of one persons scheduling issues, or because they want to be with another puppy, the other class decides they didn't get anything out of the class because it's been one on one this whole time and they complain. Then I have to explain that they paid for a group and I'm giving them what they paid for, and actually we went over a LOT with the two puppies because a huge portion of my Puppy Kindergarten classes involve teaching about body language and appropriate play, which I need other puppies in order to do. I'm sorry, but if you paid for a group and have been getting a private of course you feel like it's not the same. I'd like to have been paid for the private classes, but whatever.

Anyway, I've had this pet owner before and she's really cool so I know she won't bitch when I add another dog. And then on Sunday I have another new puppy group, a boxer and a shih tzu

On the plus side...even though the carpet guys aren't here the stump guy is FINALLY back to finish grinding our tree stumps which means we can proceed with re-landscaping the front garden area!!!

@labro we have offices all over the world, but our European team is located in Brussels. They said a few customers were flying in, but their flights were redirected. The fact that this purposely happened near the EU headquarters is terrifying. And when they were no longer on high alert. My heart goes out to the families that have been affected.

@speakeasy15 - It wasn't even that, I'm pretty much always fine with that actually. My little cousins were there and my grandmom and it was my aunt's birthday so obviously none of them were putting anything in. And then between the rest of us, it just didn't get split evenly AT all. Like I paid 90 freaking dollars and one of my aunts (with her wife) somehow only paid $80.

We had something similar happen with Zoey's intermediate training. Three dogs were signed up (including Zoey), and after week 4 they all stopped coming and turned into a one-on-one class. I felt really bad for the trainer. I don't get why people do that.

I am sooooo sleepy today! I stayed up way too late reading my book. I went to bed at 11 and thought I'd read a quick chapter, but that chapter lasted like 40 pages and was the big climax of the book. So, needless to say, I stayed up until 1:30 accidentally finishing my book. Oops.

Today will be interesting at work. I have my weekly department meeting in about 30 minutes, and then at noon one of my publishers is bringing in lunch and doing a demo for me and my boss. I think they'll be here until 2, so I'm basically getting 0 things done today.

Last night was fun! @audrewuh came over, we opened a bottle of Bordeaux (which she loved but I was meh about), and we sewed and chatted. We made a lot of progress on a couple of projects, and I got a little drunk off 2 glasses of wine. H made us a delicious turkey pot pie too. I'm so glad he can cook.

Tonight will be C25K and probably some elliptical work after, dinner, and probably knitting while we watch Fixer Upper. We love that show, and we are amazed at how nice they make Waco, TX look (spoiler alert-- it's really rundown and very poorly planned. I HATE driving around Waco. Baylor University is the only pretty part of that town.)

Anywho, time to wolf down my breakfast and prep for my meeting. Have a great Tuesday!
