  • @OurWildKingdom  Did you hear about the German soccer player who got kicked off the national team because of - among other things - his Nutella addiction?

OMG. I hope my employer doesn't know about my Nutella addiction.  ;). Although, I'm a government employee and it would probably take far worse than a Nutella addiction to get me fired.  :D
  • I'm craving a Nutella and potato chip sandwich.
i use to put potato chips on my pb&j sandwiches in college..

Um. I did that too!! :-) My pbj&chip sandwiches started in elementary school, continued through high school and college, and now I won't eat a pb&j at home unless we have chips. Soooooooo good.

I also have a thing for mustard. I used to make toast in college, and instead of butter or jam, I would just put mustard on it. Oh man. Delish.

I dip french fries in milkshakes, whenever I order both at a restaurant (which is rare). While I have never put potato chips in a PB&J, I definitely put them in turkey sandwiches.

  • I have crazy baby fever too! Thankfully FI is on board.

As part of my super awesome promotion, I am currently doing interviews for my old position and I legit threw the application in the trash because I thought the girl looked like a hooker. And not a good, classy hooker. Like, will do strange things for a little change, hooker. Maybe I need to not be so picky, since this was the 4th person I interviewed.

I was also supposed to be watching these training videos today, and I may have left them on the work tablet to run..... And sexted FI from my phone instead. Not sorry.

I am going to need to try this. It sounds kind of fantastic.

No. Absolutely not to all of the bolded! Can we stop this madness please?

  • I've also got baby fever bad! We blame DH's sister. We were all good with a 5 year plan before having kids and then I held my cute little nephew and it was all over. Luckily DH agrees and we re-evaluated our plan moving up our date by 4 years!

  • @RomanceManaged - my boss totally does that too! Only for outside hires but it is interesting to watch. I judge people that walk by my office or sit in the chair just outside my office waiting for their interview. This one girl was talking on her cellphone and every other world was a swear word. My boss got a pm about that one. She was never offered a job. Don't need that kind of negativity in the workplace!

I've done that too.  Too many applications to go through in retail.  Spelling errors, bad grammar, finished.  You come in wearing ripped sweats, messy hair with your Mom handing me the application and you can't even look up to acknowledge you want a job.  Yeah, no, done.  First impressions matter people!!

  • They really do! I would rather hire someone that bombed the interview because they were nervous, than someone who did a great job but gave me attitude. Bitch, I would be your boss. No.

  • I'm so glad y'all are on the same page with interviewing! I just started doing that as part of my new role and my teammates don't understand why I want to toss resumes with spelling or grammar errors, or ones that look like they took someone two seconds to write. We're hiring for professional positions, and about 75% of the job is documentation. You can't write, you're out.

Ooohhh...got the quote button to work again.  My sister got a job (with an awesome software company) as a receptionist out of high school.  It was a fairly small company and all of the hiring was done by the owner.  Whenever he had interviews, as soon as the interviewee would leave, he would ask for my sister's opinion of the person.  If they'd had a dismissive attitude with her because she was "just a receptionist" or did anything else unprofessional without the interviewer's eyes watching, my sis would give her boss the full scoop and it immediately shot down their chances.

  • We hired a girl who wore leggings as pants and questionable slipper/shoes to her interview. Then the boss was mad that she wore leggings as pants. DUDE, you did this to yourself. STFU

  • My confession of the day is that I might be sick tomorrow. So sick that the only cure is shopping.

No need for a confession.  A mental health day IS a sick day ;).  At least in my book.

I spent 20 minutes screwing around on Google Earth. I find it both fascinating and unnerving. I also once spent an hour trying to find the "other side of the world" from us (same latitude, different longitude; turns out it's in Xinjiang, China).
  • I have a scary meeting tomorrow about a mistake I made. I'm basically writing a script to make sure I say the right things, but I'm still scared that the woman who my mistake could have made look bad (it was caught before it did) is going to be mean to me. Because at heart I'm a child who doesn't like people being mean to me.

I think the childish part is my confession ;) I'm sure I'll make it through just fine...

  • My confession is that I'm on TK rather than studying right now. Y'all are so much more interesting than my finals exams.

I totally get how you feel. You've got this, and you'll get through fine.

Ditto @OurWildKingdom . You got this, @crowsgirl15 . We've all been there at some point or another. And I empathize with disliking people being mean. It's incredibly distasteful to me. But I like to think I've gotten a bit better at it over time. You've got thick enough skin to roll with TK and give and take what's dished out here when we get into the thick of topics, so remember that, and stand tall.

Thank you both so much. I think I just needed to get it off my chest, and you're both right, I'll make it through fine <3
