I don't think it's THAT different.

1. The house has to still be on the market in FIVE MONTHS.

2. Your offer has to be accepted.

3. The bank has to approve the loan.

I mean, it's not just a given that if you have a down payment that you'll get the house. It's not that simple. Not to mention there's a million other things that could go wrong other than the three I just listed.

@labro we're doing the pre-approval, and it's been on the market for a bit now so I'm pretty confident we'd be accepted.

True, it has to still be on the market. We have a few back up areas we like just in case.

So my friend with cancer is having 6 rounds of chemo of 3 weeks each, starting Monday. We had a lunch with her today, and so I called my mom in the morning just because she cheers me up and she told me my other childhood dog died last night. So this is a good day for this flavor of post.

I'm thankful that Marv is here and hanging out with me and making me feel better.

I'm thankful that this blanket on my legs is so freaking soft.

I'm thankful I have an amazing house to live in for basically forever.

And I'm thankful my friend has been given the opportunity to take preventive measures to fight her high risk for cancer, rather than reactive ones when it's too late.

Believe me, I don't think anyone knew how well the Blazers would be doing this year after losing four of our five starters in the off-season. I had faith, and I have been rewarded for my faith by the NBA gods! Considering the team is super young, even making it to the playoffs was a victory.

I have never been to a playoff game, but H and I go to regular season games every year. I am just so excited for tomorrow, because I know the fans will be crazy WHEN we win!

@eilis1228, to be fair, we made an offer on a house that was on the market for about 9 months. This was because the owners had severely over-priced the house when they initially listed it and didn't get the hint the local market sent by ignoring it. Two of us made offers at about the same time; the owners chose to negotiate with us.
