Not Engaged Yet

Monday Already

Morning! For once I don't feel like the whole weekend flew by but that doesn't make Monday any easier.

On Friday, after drinking several sweet tea vodka and lemonades with my coworkers, I headed home and met H and we went out to eat because there was no way in hell I was cooking dinner. We made and hung up signs for our yard sale and went to bed early.

Saturday, I got up at 6:30 to get set up! It was a beautiful day, I got completely fried, and I made $78. I took a nap, had Halo Top for dinner, and when H got home from work, we decided to start watching GOT.

My yard sale partner:

My sunburn + sexy tan lines. WHOOPS.

Yesterday was day 2 of our yard sale and we made another $46 but it was cold and started pouring so we packed it in early. The sun came back out so we drove around, checking out other yard sales, and we ended up buying shelves for the basement, a rake, some other thing for my garden that I don't know the name of, a side table either for the living room or downstairs guest room, and an edger for a grand total of $14. We went out to lunch then food shopping and when we got home, I finally cleaned out my closet and put away my winter clothes. I have a giant bag of stuff to send to ThredUp and another bag of stuff to donate. I prepped food for the week and H made dinner and we watched 2 more episodes of GOT.

Tonight, I'll probably get home from work late, make and eat dinner, watch the season finale of The Family, and squeeze in another episode of GOT before going to bed just to do it all again tomorrow!

Is it Friday yet?

@southernpeach89 - Oh no, I'm so sorry for whatever happened with you and your ILs. I can't believe they pulled that, especially in front of Callie. You don't need that toxicity in your life so I'm glad you guys made the decision to cut them out. Big hugs. And I'm glad you had a great time at the winery!!!!

@LizzyTish88 - Pics of your dress!

  • @swazzle woohoo- nice turnout at your yard sale!! And you got all those items for $14 that's pretty amazing. I don't let myself own more clothes than fit in my closet & dresser so I don't pack away seasonal clothes.

@southernpeach89 oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about. What a fucking bitch, you absolutely don't need any of that. I'm so glad you had a fun time on Thursday and Friday.

I've been thinking about @cocobellaf all weekend- does anyone know how she's doing?

I had a fun weekend. Friday I picked up things to make cupcakes and went over my brother's house. He was at work but his wife and I hung out with the kids and made the cupcakes for niece's 1st birthday. Then I stopped by another friend's and she gave me TONS of baby stuff from her son.

Saturday H worked so I organized all the baby clothes by size. Between 2 friends, I have an entire dresser full from 0-1 year clothes so that's amazing and I won't be buying even 1 item. Then I was supposed to meet up with my high school best friend but she's 45 minutes away and both of us were just exhausted so we both cancelled and napped.

Sunday I went back to my brother's to babysit. Two hours seemed like an eternity!!!!! I am NOT cut out to handle 3 children, way too stressful for me lol.

  • @LizzyTish88 Yes, if I don't think about the positive I will burst into tears. I've been trying not to cry all morning and it's just so hard. I hate that they think they can treat us that way. It's so awful.

@Swazzle Thank you! I feel better that I'm removing them from my life and it's going to take a while for us to move past this since it's all still fresh in my mind. Luckily we have a vacation week coming up so it will be a good time to do something fun.

@jenna8984 LOL I had to babysit 6 at once and after that I was like NEVER AGAIN.
  • @lizzytish88 awesome dress, so nice of your mom!!

  • @PamBeesly524 There was crazy traffic Saturday! My mom and I saw some of it on route 3 and BF's mom said she saw it on 93/95/24! Weird. Probably since it was so nice everyone was out and about at the same time!

@twodimes We've missed you!! So glad you can play this week. Sounds like a great weekend!

  • @pambeesley524 where was the fair? I think the Brimfield one was going on last weekend. It's way out off the pike west of Worcester but it's like super famous and gets tens of thousands of shoppers. We have friends who live in that town and they go away for the weekend each year to get away from the traffic lol.

@twodimes yay we miss you, sounds like you had a nice weekend! I just laughed when you said they're on a fishing trip because the radio this morning played a clip from Daniel Tosh where he says "the worst day of fishing is still better than the best day at work.....that's a lie! I've seen deadliest catch- never at work have I been capsized in 40 degree waters while my crew dies!" hahaha

  • @southernpeach89 - That is awful. I hope you and your H are on the same page about his mom. I'm sorry it got so bad that you need to cut her out entirely.

Friday we didn't do a whole lot of anything. I had made crockpot chicken, then H played some records while I watched the Crossfit regionals. Saturday I went to Crossfit, tweaked my neck, then got ready for @tuarceatha's arrival. We had a lovely afternoon of chatting and eating and chatting and eating some more. And there was ice cream YUMMMMMM.

Sunday my neck was still really bothering me. After the tuarceathas left, H and I went and grabbed lunch, then we went to the dog park. H has some real anxiety around our dogs being off-leash with other dogs, so we weren't there long. I went and got my nails done, and spent the rest of the night doing adulty things.... paying bills, balancing the checkbook, baking zucchini bread for breakfasts this week.

This morning I had another monitoring appt. The follicles are still growing, but not as quickly as I would like. It looks like we won't be going up to NY until maybe Thursday night. I already booked an airbnb, so I need to talk to the lady about pushing the dates back. UGH to more waiting. I'm trying to just be happy that even though it's not on my timeline, my body is doing exactly the right things.

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • @cu97tiger Yea unfortunately he has had to endure her behavior longer than I have so he was definitely more than ready after this weekend after witnessing how she treated us. This isn't the first time he has attempted to end relations with her. I can't have that type of behavior around Callie. I do not want her to see or hear those types of things again from her own grandmother.
  • @Swazzle  that's good sales considering weather! I love garage sales :)

@southernpeach89 I've never heard you mention about your in laws, but from the tone I'm guessing it's been really bad. That's unfortunate they have to act like that, especially to family :( I hate to think how they are to people in general :\

    @LizzyTish88  lovely dress!!

@jenna8984 that many kids is exhausting. One of my bffs has 4 kids and I frequently tell her she's insane lmao

@TwoDimes sounds like a fun weekend :) I feel you on the enjoying time alone lol!

@untouchablets aww hair cut! I hope you post before and after shots ;)

So bank appt went well on Friday! We could've been approved right then, but we still had to go thru a few things before we do. Our realtor has asked other realtor to do a long closing date, so we should hopefully hear back before end of week.
If all this works, we move either end of September or end of October! I'm hoping end of October tbh but not picky if they say September. Hopeful!

Saturday we picked up my friend A, her and I had nail appts and then we were hanging out afterwards. I haven't seen her since probably around early March or late February, and usually we try to see each other every couple weeks but she was finishing school and I was busier than usual with work stuff.
Luckily the salon is across from my apt, because it was rainy and cold. We watched movies, ate meatballs Matt makes and chilled.
I've been fighting a migraine from muscle tension all weekend, so the massage chairs at salon were great but didn't go away so we didn't end up drinking as we planned :(
She's going away this week, so when she gets back we're seeing Alice in Wonderland and checking out dollar stores nearby.

Sunday was a total bum day. Matt went to help his grandpa with his new computer, and something that should have taken maybe two hours ended up taking whole day. Since I still had migraine, I stayed home and watched movies. At one point I gave up and stretched then took a shower. Idk which helped more, but it definitely went down.

Wow .... did not anticipate such a novel!! Jeez!
  • Has anyone been to Kootenai/ Libby, Montana?

I saw this last night on Hotel Impossible and now I'm obsessed with the idea of going there. Some of the Revenant was even filmed there. There are amazing log cabin style homes on Air B&B right on the lake which seem like an unplugged dream! We won't be taking any trips until the babe is a little older but when we do, this is like my new top pick!

@MissKittyDanger - I'm confused. Did you put a bid in on this house and the seller accepted?

  • @Swazzle our realtor wants to see if the people will accept the conditions before putting in an offer, essentially so we're not wasting our time with putting an offer in if they're not going to accept the conditions.
  • @jenna8984 yep it was Brimfield... I thought you know know what it was since it's in your areaish!

We left waaaay too late. If it was just H and I we would have gotten there bright and early but we stopped at our friends house to meet their new pup, caught up, etc. and then got on the road. Next time we'll be early!
  • @misskittydanger Yea maybe it's different in Canada but I'm also confused. how does the bank still need 3 months to decide if you qualify? And what happens if they say no? Usually you don't make an offer until your financing is rock solid ready to go. I know here, houses are selling within hours to qualified buyers so nobody would wait around for 4 months for somebody who hasn't been approved.

  • @Swazzle  @jenna8984  it definitely is different, which I didn't realize how different until I saw the show on TLC called "my first house"  There's a few ways of doing it. Usually when people go to get financing and things move quick, they're not first time home buyers so they know the drill. First time home buyers have to jump through hoops.
Also the market is different here, so we could potentially have a long closing date.
  • @Cocobellaf thinking of you and baby K
@swazzle I'm surprised you got any color on Saturday it was rainy and gross all day by me
@southernpeach89 I'm glad you stood up for yourselves and Callie. None of you need toxic people like that.
    @lizzytish88 that dress sounds awesome!

Tk isn't working for me and it's hard to keep up on mobile :(

    I'll try again later.

  • @labro You're the best older sister ever. Thank you for loving on me and supporting me. I couldn't have made it through yesterday without you and mom.

@wink0erin Yea I imagine that this won't last forever but it will be a long time before I can be around her without getting upset. It's not fair to us or my daughter that we have to witness that kind of behavior.
  • @wink0erin  I really don't understand why the hoops here. Also, I'm sure it's different in all states but for Canada, banks want to see 5% minimum as down payment.
  • @jenna8984 – I think 2 is definitely my limit for how many kids I can stay reasonably sane around, haha. You sound like a saint!...... I have not been to Kootenai, specifically, but that area is gorgeous! I think you should definitely go.

@untouchablets – Awww, Coraline. I am going to miss her ridiculous fro! How is her training coming along? How old is she now?

@wink0erin – Your *throws confetti* was freaking hilarious. I can definitely not imagine only getting in 15 steps. I get at least that many every time I go to the bathroom! Maybe when you’re not moving the number goes back down, kind of like when you drive in reverse and the odometer falls back. ;)

    -------------------

Okay, I have a new favorite ice cream. Well, possibly just in my top 3, because I'm just so in love that maybe there are a few I'm forgetting.

Although, it really sucks because a quarter container of this kind is the same amount of calories as an entire container of Halo Top. Luckily I managed to contain myself to only eating a quarter of it. How? I have no idea.

My BF went and climbed a mountain on Saturday, so I hung out and played my Nancy Drew game. Probably played it for 4-5 hours or so. It was ridiculous. I finally finished it Sunday morning.

Oh, and we started watching episodes of a show called The Green Room on YouTube. It's just a group of famous comedians (different every episode) sitting around and drinking and telling stories about themselves and each other.

  • @misskittydanger There are hoops here as well. We don't just walk into a bank and they hand us $200,000. They run credit reports which can take a week, you have to submit 3 months worth of bank statements, pay stubs from your job and job history, 2 years of government tax returns. They will question where your down payment came from- like if you had it in savings for a while or if a family member just sent you a huge check as a gift. Then all the different appraisals and title searches on the house. Anyways, what's the house you like? how many beds/ baths/ nice yard/ fixer upper or finished? Good luck!

    image

  • @alpacina she'll still have the fro! It might just be slightly tamer lol. She's 6 and a half months old. Her training is going great! She's obviously still a baby so I don't expect too much from her but she doesn't jump on people anymore, she waits at the door, knows her basic commands and a few tricks. I expect a little regression in a group setting but that's why we are going, to strengthen her skills and teach her to focus around distractions.
  • @Misskittydanger Here it's recommended to put down 20%, otherwise I think there's some additional insurance/protection required (I don't know the details about it because I put down 20%, but I have friends who have to pay the additional thing).

The mortgage approval process was nuts, and even with my solid records and financials it was insanely stressful and I cried a lot and freaked out, but looking back it was an awesome decision. Even though now I have to spend MORE money because houses = $$$$$$$.
