We're almost there!

Last night H decided he didn't want pasta salad again (we had it for dinner on Tuesday and he had it for lunch yesterday so FINE, I guess) so we went out for sushi a night early. Delicious, as always! I watched BB and tried to go to bed early but I woke up from H's coughing and then had a hard time falling back asleep. Getting up this morning was a little rough.

Tonight I have to pack! I'm spending the weekend with some of my bestest frands and I can't wait!

@Swazzle Jealous of your weekend!! Are you leaving tomorrow?

Yesterday I went to CrossFit and afterwards my stomach started hurting really bad so I wasn't feeling all that great and didn't get around to fixing up my wreath. I plan to mess with it tonight and see what I can do to make it look not so awkward lol. Then we started to rewatch all the episodes of GOT and everything really is making a whole lot of sense watching it back from the beginning. I'm catching things I didn't even think about before this time around.

Tonight I plan to go to CrossFit again and we are having leftover Tomato and Bacon Pasta. Maddux is being such a pain in the arse about his trash can digging. DH might buy another trash can today that he can't get into. He sneakily does it when we leave the room or go upstairs to bed. UGHHHHHH. I sprayed it last week with sour apple but when that kind of sucks when we open it and get it on our hands.

There is nothing going on over here. Just another lazy night watching AGT. I have a ton to get done at work and I'm finding it really hard to focus.

I'm debating going to the beach tomorrow when I get out. If not I might head over to my cousin's pool.

I had a whole bunch of questions in my head last night with the intention of coming here and doing a random question thread, and I can't remember them. I really wish I had done it from mobile while they were all fresh in my head.

I also had a rough night's sleep last night... LC decided that she wants to know what's on the other side of our apartment door and has been death-meowing at it on and off for a day or so. It sucks at 3am. Hopefully she gets over it soon and realizes she's not going out into the hallway anytime soon!

Tonight I have to pack because we're leaving for Portland right after work tomorrow. I need to do laundry too and I'm baking something for the people we're staying with as a thank you - I'm making Tri-Level brownies, a favorite of mine that I haven't made since high-school so I hope they turn out yummy!

Morning, everybody! Not much going on here--just more work at the office. Last night was X-Files and dinner. Tonight will be yoga and no X-Files because I have a ton of stuff I need to get done, and tomorrow is my long run morning so I need to make sure I get to bed on time.

@southernpeach89 - Once H and I fully catch up on GOT, I definitely want to go back and rewatch it all the way through again. We randomly watched an episode from season 1 with my dad a few weeks ago and it made so many things more clear! I'm working a half day tomorrow and then leaving!

@lizzytish - Definitely beach!

@PamBeesly524 - I'm going to @buddysmom80 's house in CT with @GoldenPenguin @Hummingbird125 and @csousa1 ! It'll be a weekend filled with lounging in the pool, eating all the food, and laughing so much our bellies hurt! I want those brownies!

Haven't been on this week, super busy with month end, training my temp. Overall I think he's going to do a good job while I'm gone. Yesterday I had the 36 week ultrasound to measure size...and they said he's 7.5 lbs already with 4 weeks to go!!!! I'm like WHAT because H & I are both small people and I've been eating really well and healthy. Those estimates can be a pound or 2 off but some people's are dead on so you never know. We might have a little beast in there. My doctor was like "at your size and his size, 38 weeks would be perfect" and I'm like gee thanks, I agree but that's up to nature...

@LizzyTish88 When I called the vet for the first time to make an appointment I told them her name was LC because it's easier to explain than Crindy - The receptionist was like "OooOo like the TV star!" hahaha I was like, sure, ok.

@swazzle omg sounds so fun! girl's weekends are the absolute best.

@futuremrshistorian It's an recipe I have on an old school card, not sure if it lives on the interwebs or not, but essentially the bottom is butter, brown sugar and oats (bake that first), then you add a chocolate brownie mixture on top (bake), and then once it's cooled you add a fudge frosting. What's not to love about that?!

Tomorrow is Friday! We've almost made it!
Yesterday was H's birthday so we went out for pizza and I made his favorite cake (cinnamon crumb cake). We are extending his birthday celebration by taking a long weekend trip to Dallas Saturday-Tuesday, which will be so nice!
Tonight we'll be packing, cooking dinner, and finishing up the laundry. I've decided that taking a long weekend after a long holiday weekend is the way to go.
Also, last night I got a jury summons in the mail. It's my 3rd one. Just wondering how many of you have been multiple times? Three seems like a lot to me. And apparently some of my friends actually LIKE going. What does NEY think?

@swazzle - I hope you have a fun weekend. Friend weekends are the best!
@southernpeach89 - I saw your wreath yesterday and I'm excited to see the edited version - I think it'll be really cute! (Although I think it currently looks way better than anything I could make)!

@beachyone15 - I've gotten called twice. One time I had to call them the night before and was told I wasn't needed and the second time, I had to go there and then got dismissed that afternoon. I've always REALLY wanted to serve on a jury but the sitting around all day for nothing kind of sucked. I was originally a criminal justice major in college and did mock trials in high school for my law classes so I am definitely biased!

@beachyone15 I've been summoned twice in MA but they both got cancelled. I don't know of very many people who have been summoned multiple times and actually had to go each time.

@beachyone15 That does sound like a lot to me. I've only been summoned once since being out of college which has been 4 years now. I was summoned a couple times in college but since I was a student I was exempted.

@swazzle - I didn't know that! My BFF is in the legal field so of course she loves to go.

@TwoDimes - That's annoying. Maybe when you let Indy out in the evenings the deer will start coming then instead of 6 am!

I haven't heard of being summoned and then not being needed. Unfortunately I've sat there all day both times so I'm assuming this time will be the same. But I guess I can at least catch up on some reading!

Good Morning everybody!

The last couple weeks have been pretty uneventful for me besides starting my new accounting class which has gone well so far. BF has been in Texas since last week fencing at Summer Nationals so I've missed him. He just got home last night so I will see him later and it will be nice

Now, for the epic saga that I've just experienced that I was waiting to talk about until I knew what was going on. Sorry for the novel.

Basically, last week my manager who I love announced that she is leaving the company and has given her notice. I was sad and started to panic because I LOVE her and she lets me run the dog training department how I want and if I have any changes or need help she's always there to help make it happen. We are also very short staffed, and since I was recently promoted to a key holder I started to get nervous that they'd ask me to put dog training on hold indefinitely to be a manager until we get more people to fill positions. Basically, I decided it was time to jump ship.

So I updated my resume Friday night, and Saturday morning I emailed it to a local dog training center that I had heard a lot of good things about and was interested in seeing what would happen. There was no job posing, nothing on their website saying they're hiring.... but I got a response the very same day asking when I'd be available to interview! I responded saying I'm free every Monday and Wednesday any time and he asked if that included July 4th, that they were having an event and would be open. Obviously I said yes! So I went to my interview on Monday, we talked for about an hour and he basically treated me like he was already hiring me, but then said he'd let me know at the end.

I spent all of Tuesday being anxious about it, and then yesterday I started to feel like I said something that may have been off-putting. That's when @AlPacina reminded me that I should email him saying thanks for the interview and I could clarify anything I might have miscommunicated that way, so that's what I did. He emailed me back a few hours later asking me to observe a class and talk more about joining them! So I did! AND I WAS HIRED!!

This means no more retail, I am going to be working at a place that is 100% focused on dog training, health, and fitness. It's so amazing, I had no idea that this would happen so fast and I am SO EXCITED to start. My first day is August 1st which means I have to hurry all my current classes along and tie up all my loose ends before I leave the retail life FOREVER!

@beachyone15 I've received jury summons twice. Once when I was living out of state, and the other two years ago. My background is legal, so I love it. The case I got to sit on was an armed robbery. If you're selected more than once every six months, I think that's an issue. If you serve on a jury they cannot select you for at least a year. At least that is how it is in PA.

@beachyone15 I've only ever been called once and I was attending college out of state so I deferred. I haven't been called since. I think I wouldn't mind being called right now because we're super close to our county courthouse and I think the process would be interesting. My mom gets called once a year at least but half the time she's an alternate and doesn't have to show up and the other half of the time she gets dismissed.

@TwoDimes Omg I love all your stories about Indy's new "friend"! So hilarious! The food talk is killing me too...I want all the things right now.

I was late walking into work today because I got pulled into a discussion on the recent police shootings with my dad. We both look at them in such different ways that I don't think we can ever see eye to eye on them...but it was an interesting talk at least. The whole thing frustrates me and makes me so sad and I feel like there isn't one easy explanation or action we can all take to fix it...unless you're my dad and says it's as easy and just complying with the office and obeying the law...but I know that for many people who grow up in systemic poverty that it just isn't as easy as that.

Anyway, nothing big for me today...just work work work! Last night we made pulled pork in the crock pot but for some reason the smell of the cooking pork just completely turned my stomach and I didn't have an appetite all night. At least I had a massive lunch so I know I got my calories and then some...which may have also explained my lack of hunger.

@PamBeesly524 – Every time you’ve mentioned Portland I’ve had to regroup because I keep thinking you’ll be over on this side! Haha. What sort of stuff is there to do in Portland, ME? Your tri-level brownies sound incredible! My old roommate and I used to make “slutty brownies”, where you put a layer of cookie dough, a layer of oreos, and then top it with brownie mix and bake it.

@jenna8984 – I am definitely crossing fingers that the measurement is a little off! Haha!

@beachyone15 – Oh man, that sounds like such a great birthday celebration! I hope you have a fabulous weekend trip! What do you like to do in Dallas?.............. I’ve never been summoned, actually. No idea why.

@TwoDimes – OMG, that suuuuuucks that Indy is wanting to go see the deer that early. So lame!

@untouchablets – I’m mostly just glad you can still send me pictures of the cute dogs in your classes. I would have been sad to lose that perk.

I think I finally perfected "browned butter" last night! Our Blue Apron dish was browned butter gnocchi with squash and a soft boiled egg and it was absolutely delicious. I'm always so sad when gnocchi dishes are finished. I could eat my weight in gnocchi.

I also ended up buying tickets to ANOTHER broadway show last night, even though I've been trying to save money lately. But whatever, it's in Seattle, my mom is going to meet me since it's about equal distance from both of us, and it's going to be a helluva time. We're going to see A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, the Best Musical Tony Winner from 2014. I only discovered it recently, but I think it looks absolutely hilarious. @beachyone15 I've never been called for jury. My H did 2 years ago and it was such a pain! He had to push back the jobs he was working on- thankfully the homeowners were okay with it. I don't think he ever cashed the check for $45 for serving lol Anyways, getting called 3 times in a short time span doesn't seem right!

Good morning! I had a very slow moving morning. I stubbed my toe hard last night on a door frame corner in my house. Ugh! I slept in and scrolled through social media. It was nice to just chill in my comforter with the AC blasting! I was going to go back to the beach today but I don't like going when it is super cloudy. Friday and Saturday's weather reports don't look good for the beach either

I'm probably going to head out later and buy my H a nice shirt for this weekend. He says we are going somewhere nice for our anniversary, so I will surprise him with either a nice shirt or take care of his dry cleaning for him. I also need to stop by the market and pick up a few things too. Easy day today!

We are getting a city pass while in Dallas, going to my first MLB game with some friends, and going here: http://tx.spacastleusa.com/. My H found a groupon for it, and I told him he couldn't dangle a spa resort in front of me and expect me to say no (especially when it's a good deal)!
I haven't heard of that musical but I'll have to check it out!

@beachyone15 - Ohhhhh yeaaaaa. Every single one of those activities sounds great! I used to love going to MLB games with my parents. BF doesn't like baseball so I haven't been in a few years, though. I'd have to go to a Yankees game to be able to recognize anyone anyway, since they took all my favorite Seattle players.

@beachyone15 mums the word on jury duty because I don't want to jinx myself haha. Been feeling ok/as good as I can. My back and swollen feet are definitely unpleasant and I'm sleeping on my chaise lounge now instead of bed. But trying to keep in good spirits for as long as possible lol

@labro that stinks you didn't want dinner last night. It makes me sick not only that these things happen but that the video has to be all over the internet forever. my H was like what if he has children? They will/can see the video of their dad being shot and dying?! That's just not right. And there are videos of like the taliban cutting people's heads off and whatever....I have never seen any and I never will watch something like that. H & I agree as convenient as the internet is we'd give anything to go back and live in a time without it.

@jenna8984 To some extent...I think some people need to SEE the evil. But yeah, I agree it also bothers me too for similar reasons. CNN just kept playing the video from St. Paul over and over and over this morning and it was so graphic. On one hand, I feel like people become hardened to the horror if they see it all the time, but on the other hand, I don't want to whitewash it either.
