Introduce myself. I have been lurking around here for a while but I didn't want to post because I am not engaged. But after seeing some NEY people on this board I became confident.

I have been with my BF for 2 1/2 years. I think we might be engaged in another 6 months or so but I am not sure. We are both students his major is Chemical Engineering and mine is English Literature and Linguistic. We are both Russian Orthodox. He serves in the alter and I sing in the choir.

I love horses, reading, writing poetry, German, traveling, and sunlight

I really look forward to meeting you girls. You all seem like such a nice supportive bunch.

Welcome! I'm new to this board and love it already! The girls are super supportive and uplifting! I'm glad to meet a fellow student too! I'm a secondary social studies education major. I graduate next December. When are you and your BF done? I'm glad you came and introduced yourself!! I can't wait to read all your plans when you get engaged!!

Faith- Well the BF's degree is a 5 year degree so he is starting his 3rd year in the fall. So he has three more years left. I also have three years. It seems so long! Congrats on graduating!

We meet in High School though we didn't attend the same school, we met through a mutual friend. We go the local junior college right now but then we will both transferor to the University next fall. :)
Tell me about you guys? When did you meet? Favorite thing about your FI/DH?

Oh, girl, I feel you about school being long! It feels like time can't fly by quick enough! Hang in there! We can comiserrate together! ;) Edited to add a bit about us: we've been dating for about 5 1/2 years. We met when I was 11 and he was 13. We became best friends and started dating when I was 15. We are getting married 12/22/12-- so far away-- and absolutely love Disney. That's us in a nutshell!

hey - side note - i am from Nor Cal too!! (:

My FI and i have been together for 1 yr and 4 months. We are getting married on August 20, 2011. I am turning 24 tomorrow..and my FI will be 23 in August. (: he is going to Southwestern Assemblies of God University for marriage and family counseling. (: i love him.

I met my FI through a mutual friend too. lol. (; My neighbor at the time was working with my FI. and i was in my hometown during Christmas break and my neighbor was telling me about this "great guy" who was looking for a "nice girl". She told my FI about me and showed him a picture of me. I was soooo not into blind dates and all that & i was content just "waiting for my prince". So i was SUPER snooty when she send me a picture of him and said "well i am not even gonna THINK about dating him unless he agrees to go to church with me." My neighbor replies with "i am pretty sure he goes to the same church as you," and i'm like.. "oh really???? " lol. I gave her permission to give him my number and he called me a few days later. We talked and texted for about 2 weeks because i was snowed in at my sister's house. We went on our first date on January 15, 2010..and were together every day pretty much after that. lol.

He went to a ministry school in August 2010 and we have been doing long distance since then (we were together for 7 months when he left and then he was gone for 9! so we have been together apart longer then together in the same town lol). But he will be back this wednesday!!! (:

My favorite thing about my FI is just his heart. He has a beautiful heart for young men and just showing them that they can still be strong and manly and be incredibly in love with Jesus. (: He has been through ALOT in his past and he has turned into an amazing man of God that i am soo proud of!

Oh good. :) This semester kicked my butt. Aw I like your story. :) I also really like your name. But I am partial because in the Orthodox church you get a Saints name when you get baptized. Mine in Faith or Vera in Russian. :)

oh wow! i was gonna honeymoon in South Lake Tahoe...but then decided not to.

I am about 3 hours North of Sac....over by Oregon.

Yes..my FI has an amazing testimony. I am in awe of him daily.

Hi! Sometimes I feel a little awkward posting here since we've been married for 18 months now. But everyone here is very supportive and encouraging. So jump right in and join the conversations!

DH and I were introduced by one of my best college friends who is married to his cousin. She actually gave him my email address and he emailed me for about 6 weeks before we met. We were long distance for our entire relationship until our wedding day.

I am so happy to be married to him. After living alone for about 14 years I was nervous that it would be difficult to adjust to being married but it is so awesome to live with my best friend! I was 38 when I got married (1st marriage) and he was definitely worth waiting for.

Amongthe- Ya sort of. My dad grew up there and I drive through it all the time on my way to Orgen where my grandma lives. In fact I will be driving through this summer. I live about an hour away from Sac.

Hi there! One thing I love about our board is the variety...a few married women, lots of engaged, and now a NEY!

Something we have in common: my FI is a ChemE major too. He's starting his fourth year next year, though. I laughed when you said 5 year major because it totally is. People look at FI and I like we're insane we say that.

As for how we met...we met in a high school web design class, actually. He joined the class late and the only empty computer in the room was next to me. We started talking, exchanged email addresses, then phone numbers. We stayed together through high school, community college, and just transferred up to the university together (although at different universities that are 8 miles apart). We're getting married August 6th, 2011

Anyway, welcome to the board!

Um as in Texas??? Or is there another Southwestern Assemblies??!?!?!! Thats where FI is graduating from next semester (hopefully) and where Im planning on going!!!!!

FI and I met when I was 17 and he was 19. He took an internship at my church for the music in the youth. Well I was ahead of all of that so we really didnt get along too well at first lol But we got past it and "talked" until he found a new internship. (youth cant date interns) So now we've been together for 2 and a half years long distance. And we'll be married next saturday!

I posted on a separate thread, as sometimes when threads get buried, you don't see responses. I'm also Orthodox Christian, but I'm getting married in three weeks. I am also getting married in San Francisco! I see you're a NorCal bride. My church is Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, but I live in Washington, DC now and attend an OCA church back here. I don't like to differentiate with the ethnic labels, as it's all one big church. :-)

Welcome and congrats! I also feel a little weird posting here still, but I formed some friendships with girls on my local (well they were my local before DH and I moved to FL last fall) and I'm still a mod for 2 other boards and feel that I have a lot of advice and ideas to contribute so I like sticking around for atleast a little while longer.
