Le weekend
Bonjour mes amis! C'est le weekend!
I have felt like a zombie this whole week and finally I got a good night's sleep yesterday. So I feel so refreshed this morning. Poor Maddux though....he ended up falling asleep in the guest bedroom instead of in our's and at around 5:00a.m. I hear this whining at our bedroom door and there is poor Maddux wanting to come in and snuggle. I felt terrible lol.
Today I have a lot to do. I need to clean a little since the Maddux hair has gotten out of control and we are having company over tomorrow. I'm going to make Callie some yogurt pops for her poor gums. I think she will love these. Then I might paint my pallet that I've had sitting in my garage for a month. I've wanted to do this project all summer but couldn't find a pallet that was heat treated in good condition and I finally got one so now hopefully I'll get some time today to work on it.
Tonight I'm going to CrossFit and for dinner we are doing Broccoli Soup and Cheddar Muffins.
Saturday we are hosting my family and @labro for her bday dinner and since DH's birthday is next Friday we are celebrating him too. We are smoking ribs and having a family day. Should be fun and hopefully maybe play some corn hole.
Sunday DH has to work so I'm going with my mom and @labro to the airport to pick up one of our distant cousins from Germany. She is here for her internship and is spending the week with us first. I haven't seen her in a few years so I'm excited for her to meet Callie.

Last night the cheer meeting went very well! Can't wait for the season to start on Monday. I am really missing my girls and can't wait to meet my boy! I have heard he is extremely sassy and that I am going to have to rein him in. Should be interesting!
It's looking like @500days and I aren't going to the beach today. It's so gloomy and it's raining here now. So I think when I get out I will run some errands. We had talked about doing a cookout/fire at our house tonight so I hope that is still on!
Other than that, we have no plans this weekend! This is the last free weekend we have before our trip! Hoping to really enjoy it before life gets super crazy!
@LizzyTish88 I'm painting an American Flag....a bit late in the season but I'll definitely use it next year. There were other options I could have done but this one has always been what I've wanted.

I am so not excited to be at work today. Last night H made some delicious crepes for my birthday dinner. He also got me tickets to a shower in Boston in Oct. - A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. I don't know anything about it (@AlPacina, do you?) but he says it has great reviews so I'm excited to go later this year! We also went for a walk and got ice cream and then collapsed into bed - I've been so tired this week!
Today after work we leave to drive up to NH to visit my parents - should be fun!
Tomorrow I am getting a pedicure with my mom, then showing her how to use Snapfish to make an album for my grandpa. I have a feeling I'm going to be the one who ends up making the album because she's "not creative" (her words). Then I have a hair appointment to touch up my highlights and get a cut.
Sunday is kind of up in the air. My brother is going to a concert in Austin and invited H and I to come hang out before the concert. Not sure yet if we are going, but I kind of prefer Sundays to be no obligations/no work/no pants day, so we'll see.
@southernpeach89 - That sounds like a fun weekend!

Last night was a really relaxing birthday evening. Priority number one was pouring myself a generous glass of wine after I got home from work.
We stayed in and I drank more wine and supervised H while he cooked dinner.
I have a ton of meetings this morning and then I am going out for lunch (again!!) with some people from work to celebrate my birthday and a couple of others. Then a siding contractor is coming to our house to give us a hard quote for the new siding. I was pretty happy with his estimated pricing over the phone and I hope he sticks with it.
Tomorrow we're celebrating my birthday and BIL's birthday with family and I'm bringing a whole pan of macaroni and cheese from our favorite bbq restaurant! I'm reserving half of it for me....don't even care!
Sunday there's a possibility I might meet up with a childhood friend for brunch before heading to the airport to pick up my German cousin with @southernpeach89 and my mom! I'm so excited to see her again!

@TwoDimes – You are hilarious! I want to be in charge of all the plans because I want to make sure things are done “right”, but at the same time I’m not willing to make the final decision on anything. Which is why we never go anywhere.

Duuuuuuuuuude, that's the show I literally just saw last weekend and posted about on Monday. I also did another post earlier this month with a link to THIS CLIP from the show that is INCREDIBLE! The show is amazing and you will love it. The cast was so talented, and I'm sure you'll be seeing the same performers as I did. One guy plays something like 8-9 characters. And the gist of the show is that the main character Monty is trying to murder all of them (the 8 characters) to become next in line for an Earldom. But it's funny. Really funny.
And I was obsessed with the costumes. Basically, I'm dying to wear this dress............ and I don't even like pink.

My plans for the weekend include cutting bamboo (a 1-2 hour task) and then reading and puzzling for the rest of it. I don't think BF is motivated for anything at all, so I don't think he'll be pushing me to be too motivated either. YAY!
@TwoDimes - Our new house has a pretty long row of bamboo along the fenceline. It just needs to be trimmed back quite badly. I haven't touched it yet this year and it grows like crazy (you know, bamboo).

I'm bummin about the weather this morning! It's wicked rainy and dreary. We needed the rain badly though. I have been hearing reports of farms struggling this summer. I honestly cannot remember the last time it really rained. The last few storms we have gotten have been dark clouds with heat lightning, so zero rain.
Today I'm going to make some orzo pasta salad and either make guac or buy a good guac for the weekend. I'm heading to Newport tomorrow for a bachelorette party for a coworker who is getting married in the fall. Hopefully it will be fun, but I'm not about to get wasted with a bunch of teachers. Bad idea. The plans are to meet in the afternoon, go out to dinner and beach the next day. We'll see how the weather is going to cooperate because it looks like rain again on Sunday- and I don't do rainy beach days even if the bride still wants to go. She's super AW about her wedding, so I can picture her being upset if things don't go well. Crossing my fingers!

@speakeasy14 - I obviously planted it to try and trick a panda to come in my backyard, and then it will fall in love with Marv because he's awesome and they will become best friends and the panda won't want to leave.
