Hello! My fiance and I are super excited for our honeymoon, but we are having some trouble narrowing down all the choices! Here are some things we are looking for:
Non-negotiable:
- Must be beautiful turquoise water, pretty beach area
_ Must have a swim-up bar in the pool area (fiance's request...haha!)
Nice to have:
- All-inclusive
-Carribean (although I would be more open to Mexico as well)
_ Romantic, maybe offers a Honeymoon suite or package?
_ A private plunge pool or jacuzzi in the suite / Honeymoon suite. We want this to be a vacation of a lifetime, so budget isn't a huge concern. Maybe even a swim-up room would be nice!
- Must have options for other things to do either as paid excursions or around the resort. We aren't very adventurous, but we plan on being there for a week and don't want to get bored
-Spa on site
-Not a huge party place. We are introverts and are not looking to make friends - ha!
- We want it to feel nice/luxurious. I've looked at Sandals, but I just can't tell how actually NICE it looks in person. I feel like the pictures look too photo-shopped...it has me suspicious!
-Lazy river style pool
We would be flying from LA, but have planned for a day's travel on either end of the week-long vacation. Like I mentioned before, budget is open, but ideally would like to stay under $10K. Any suggestions?! I could use some help!
Re: Beach Honeymoon Resort Suggestions? (Specifics Included)
Not sure what time of year you are going, but how about Fiji? LikuLiku Lagoon Resort has awesome beach villas with pools. They are partially inclusive. They do not include drinks. Other resorts there have pools as well. If you want truly all inclusive, check out Namale. Depending on the time of year, $10K is easily doable. I recommend talking to a Fiji Specialist.
Unless you drink a LOT, you will probably save money by going to a most inclusive resort and buying your own drinks. There is nothing "free". I am a cruise lady. In the drinks package offered by most cruise ships, you would have to drink ten to twelve drinks a day, per person, to make it worth the cost. That's more than I can drink!
We have had 35 nights at sandals and have been to St. Lucia Grande 2x's, Negril 1x, Antigua 1x, Whitehouse 2x,s with 3rd set for next year and Montego Bay 1x with 2nd set for later this year.
We we have also been to Cancun 2xs and stayed at what is now Hyatt Zilira (all inclusive).
Prettiest water is between Montego Bay and Cancun. Most included activities, Sandals hands down.
