Cape veils

i have just discovered the cape veil and was wondering if anyone has used one before. Pros and cons. I'm 5'1" and my sister thinks it will make me look shorter. Any input? Thanks ladies!! ❤️❤️❤️

Would somebody please explain "cape veils" to me? My understanding is that a veil covers at least some part of your head. A cape covers your shoulders.
What am I missing?

I don't get it either. "cape veils" just seem like capes. Not veils. Veils should touch your head in some way.

Cape veils seem more like dress accessories. Like a shawl or jacket.

If you want a veil that drapes around your shoulders, consider a cathedral length mantilla veil.

I agree though that seeing the dress would help. I don't think the cape veil alone would make you look too short, but I'm also a shortie that doesn't mind looking short. I even wore flats. I'm not fooling anyone about my height.

I feel like a cape veil would look better on a sleeveless dress.

Your dress is beautiful, but I feel like the cape veil would distract from the beauty of the sleeves and neckline.

I think the cape veil looks really cool. It might be a bit much with the long sleeves but if you like it go for it. Your attire won't affect anyone.

It's not a cape veil, it's just a cape. I agree with PP that it won't look right since your dress has sleeves.

Pro: you seem to like this style, which is all that matters.

Con: who cares, if you like it.

OP, if you want to wear a cape for your wedding, go for it! It's not something that is going to adversely affect your guests' comfort or enjoyment of the event. If other people think it's silly, well, they don't have to wear it. It's not something I would choose, but I'm not you and that's fine.

The cape veils are very pretty, but like PPs said, they would detract from your dress. With a simpler dress, they would look great.

I think a cape veil would look fabulous with you dress! If the back of your dress/sleeves were all lace, I would be worried that it would cover up too much. But since it is plain netting I think it would look gorgeous! And, like other people said: if you like it, that's all that matters!

I think your dress is gorgeous but agree with PPs that a cape veil (you learn something new every day) would detract from the dress.
