A board I used to lurk on had a poster with the name Drunkenblahblah (not the actual name) and it amused me. So being a witch who likes her scotch and whiskey...viola.
Mine is part of a John Mulaney joke where he compares his driving skill to that a 100 year old blind dog, but the delivery was way better than my explanation.
My avatar is my beloved cat Ava, doing what she did best - napping.
I'm the girl in his neighborhood. Our apartment was 5-6 minutes in
walking distance from each others, (the cheapest rent area
neighborhood).. I guess due to our close distance, things naturally
progress beween us. It was familiarity that bring us together.
He always stare and stare at me.. Like whenever we ran into each others at the parking lot, the apartment neighborhood parking area; he just stood there stare at me. Or like when he hang out outside together with his buddies, doesn't matter if he by himself or hang out with a group of friends; If he see me walk by he still would just stood there stare at me.
He very nice to me, he helps carried my laundry baskets, carried my supermarket bags, carried all heavy stuff for me.
He very respectful. He never come near my door or bother me. Never once
he asked to come inside or force himself in my apartment.. He helps
carried my laundry, carried my supermarket bags; and he just leave it
right in front my door at my doorstep. He never asked to come inside, he
never came near my door. I guess he didn't want to scare me off. (I
live alone with a little poodle).
He also help fix my car, he cary all heavy stuff for me, etc..
He bought me those 5 gallons big water bottles, want to make sure have
water for emergency use, (we live in a state that prone to earthquakes).
He always find reasons and stupid excuses to see me more, lol.. he was so corny.
And he get kindda extreme.. He purposely chose the public staircase that closest to my apartment, quietly sit there and wait for me. Day by day gone by whenever he back from work and have the Freetime, he would come back to this same stairscase wait and wait. In cold weather, he still came back to this same staircase sit and wait for me. (there alot of stairs here, it the 'cheapest rent area neighborhood', lol).. And my staircase is facing the parking lot, so I have no choice but to passed by this stairs and passed by him in order to get to my apartment. This staircase is where he waited for me alot.
He sounds like a creeper right? But in his defense, he not..
Because all apartments here have staircase, these stairs are everywhere
and have lights on too. It belong in the public, anyone can stand/sit
wait out there if they wants.. It not my stairs, not my property. It
just happen to be the staircase most closest to my apartment.
..(when we became friends); he confessed that he wants to get to know me more, and wants to see me more. So he chose the public staicase closest to my apartment to sit outside and wait, hope to see me when I came home.
He very persistent. I knew he wants to chase me. But I just want to be
friends only.. So we were friends for 2 years before dating. I use the
two years time to slowly 'Observe' him, get to know him really well
before I agree be his girlfriend.
Because of our close distance, seeing each others day in and day out; it not hard to get to know him well.
I thought the 2 years being 'just friends' with him--that would be
enough time for him to give up chasing me.. But as we getting to know
each others, seem like the feelings he has for me developed more and
more over time. He said he wait for me, he waited.
I was touch by his sincere and persistent. After 2 years of be friends with him, I agree to be his girlfriend. (I don't know exactly when I started to fall for him, but I eventually did; or else I wouldn't agree to be his GF). Anyways, fast forward the dating part.. we married now (we got married 18 months ago). Thinking back I sure did give him a hard time.. I'm sure it because I'm the girl in his neighborhood/we see each other day in and day out, or else he probably wouldn't have this much patience, lol
This screen name "thestaircase" is a memory between me and him. I was touched by his persistent and his never-give-up attitude.. My
husband doesn't think it awkward, I on the other hand think it was. It
awkward because he is my neighbor, my friend, my boyfriend, and now is my
husband. It just weird, Lol
Sherbie is a nickname my dad gave me when I was little; real name Charine (pronounced 'shu-reen'), Avatar is the background advertising the Beatles Cirque du Soleil show in The Mirage Vegas, with me jumping like the 5th Beatle!
I started this account when, OMG, I was totally going to marry my college sweetheart (which is why it's soooo old!). I graduated from Michigan State University in 2004, and at that time, I had a princess kanji tramp stamp.

Viking because I'm Swedish, Anna [rhymes with sauna, iguana] is my real name, 87 is the year H was born [I'm much older ] I've been obsessed with mermaids for years, maybe because I used to swim competitively. It's one of the few creatures I can draw well.
Re: How did you come up with your screen name?
My avatar is of my dog Fred when he was a puppy. I also love him more than most things in life.
@AddieCake I knew there was a reason I liked you.
I didn't want to use my usual username because I'd like to keep my contributions here separate from my usual social media/internet persona.
My avatar was a little mason jar and flower "collage" from our wedding and I loved it.
Danger is a joke/nickname a friend and I had. It's stuck since gr. 9 lol
