  • Hahaha
Yes, it was yesterday. She had wanted it to be on their 3 year dating anniversary which was/is June 7th. Also Thursdays cost less than Friday/Saturday/Sunday weddings.

It turned out nice. There were only about 60ish people there. A big part of her friends didn't show because they were upset with how she handled the bachelorette/bridal shower thing. (She invited lots of people to those parties, but not to the wedding, or 1 girl was invited and the sister wasn't) and a lot of people were also upset that she asked for money.

She also didn't have bridesmaids. The music started and the groom walked his parents to their seats, and then the bride walked her parents and sat them. They said their vows in unison, speaking the words together, so the ceremony was VERY short, I'd say about 10 minutes. Not unit ceremony at all either. It POURED so we all had to squish inside. And her centerpieces were ferns, moss and wild flowers fresh picked from her moms house, dirt and all. It fit her nature theme well, but it was just weird. She also chose who to give her bouquet and garter to, rather than throwing it, and hardly anyone was dancing (including FI and I as he has to have a few beers before he will even THINK about dancing).

I thought it was a pretty wedding, but it just seemed like something was missing. I can only really compare to other weddings I have been to, and what I plan for my own, but the decorations seemed ot be lacking (the room is stark white) and it was over very fast. It went from 3-7 and then everyone left.

She did end up getting a photographer, officiant and tree guest book (you sign on the leaves) all in the last 4 days. I am glad for her than it turned out well, it just seemed to end really fast, way shorter than other weddings I've been to, and I think she will look back and wish they didnt do the last dance at 6:45.

  • I'm glad it all worked out for her Smile  I was worried when you mentioned that she didn't have a photog or officiant the week before her wedding.

  • And I understand her wanting to keep her dating anniversary the same as her wedding.  I was the same way, except I had a 18 month engagement to have my anniversary fall on a Saturday.

  • 18 months? Wow, I couldn't imagine! Were you ready for it to just be done and be married? FI and I are at 1 year engaged now, and still have to wait until July 28th, we are ready to just be married and move on from wedding planning already lol!!

But yes, I don't know how she pulled it off but she did. I think she was overcharged for her DJ (she paid $1300) and didn't get a few perks they were promised, but thats in their hands now so I dont know if thye even noticed.
