This week someone on a local bride board asked if its okay to serve cake to only her immediate family and have a chocolate fondue fountain for everyone else.

Another bride argued that being a bridesmaid is an honor and with that comes responsibilities and costs.

I have a cousin who, for the last year or so, has been giving us a play-by-play of her estranged relationship with her husband. Like multiple posts a day on what is going on.

Let's just say, I'm leaning towards team husband at this point.

ETA - Confession: I do not block her because I like to watch a good ole train wreck. Plus I'm one of the few family she hasn't blocked, so I can report back to the rest of the family.

This was last year, but a former friend posted repeatedly about how they invited 300 people to their wedding but only got 150 RSVPs and now they "know who their REAL friends are."

I've seen that mentality in this Facebook mom group I was in too. I saw the "they're called bridesMAIDS for a reason" crap too. Yuck.

I can't think of any wedding things on Facebook that have been particularly atrocious. I was very annoyed by a friend that kept sharing her daughter's honey fund on Facebook over and over. I'm not even invited to your daughter's wedding... why are you sharing her honey fund on Facebook??? (as if honey funds aren't tacky enough).

This isn't the worst thing, but I have one FB friend getting married this fall and his bride to be plastered their STD all over the place. I'm fairly certain that their entire FB friend list (he has over 600 on his list and I think she has even more) is not invited to the wedding, me included.

The most awful offender on my list is my SIL. She is ultimate AW. She is a master at vaguebooking and has posted several selfies in the bathroom at work. One of them was on the toilet. How can I tell? By the toilet cover dispenser behind her, of course.

I'm pretty lucky with FB. Nothing really offensive or charged. But my SIL posts about everything. Honestly, I worry about her social media presence and the kids. Her screen names are her full name, links to her blog everywhere, which has photos of the house, sometimes the house number. And lots of photos of the kids, including my 5 year old niece running naked around the yard in the sprinkler. To me, it's starting to push the age of appropriate, and I worry that there are some serious creepers out there who may have access to all of this information

My friend posted a photo of her cringing and holding her blow out-covered four-month-old. I love her but I just had to shake my head. (I'm also kind of judgy that almost every photo of him is with a pacifier in his month. And he's now a year old. I can't believe that's good for him.)

Oh and another one. Someone I know who doesn't really understand FB properly wrote a message on a friend's wall instead of PMing them expressing concern about another mutual friend's partying ways. But it sounded judgy more than from a place of genuine concern. Party friend saw the message and commented. It was so awkward.

I have a friend who posts about her son's poop. Sometimes we get a detailed description of it. He is special needs, and constipation or unwillingness to poop is often an issue, so I get why it's important to her, but JFC.

A woman I sort of knew from a theatre troup I was in posted that she was "trimming her Facebook friend list". Ummm, okay, don't see why you need to announce that. The next day she posted "if you can see this, you made the cut".

Oh really? REALLY? Are you fucking kidding me? Listen up princess not everyone thinks that highly of you. We are not clamoring to bask in your presence. Actually, I don't think anyone values your "specialness" more than you do.

What was super digusting was all people posting how "honored" they were and her responding "you're welcome". I unfriended her right then and there, I have no time for people who demand applause for the "privilege" of being their Facebook friend.

Get over yourself.

Wow @drunkenwitch. That is too much! I have seen people make those posts before but no one who ever thanked the person for getting to remain their facebook friend. Ew.

ETA: There is literally no one in the world I would thank for the "privilege" of remaining their facebook friend.

I'm pretty sure I'm about to watch a divorce unfold on Facebook. For weeks this girl I'm friends with has been posting statuses about the people she loves hurting her and blah blah blah but never says who she's talking about. This morning she posted a status tagging her husband saying he isn't at work like he said he was and she can't find him, and if anyone knows where he is to please let her know because he won't respond to her texts and phone calls. Then she posts later again saying she doesn't understand why the person she gave her heart to wants to hurt her. Annnnnd 10 minutes ago she posts saying her husband has been found but he has asked that she not "air out their issues on Facebook" so she has deleted the other posts. Now I'm kind of disappointed.

I have a friend who posts a ton about her kid's potty training. I don't mind the single note of "Eeek starting potty training today" but I draw the line at the photos with a little smiley face over the contents of the toilet bowl. I think it crossed the line when people had those photos in their family photo book, but posting them on the internet is forever.

Looking at the above comments, looks like I'm not alone in my irritation with these types of posts.

Ditto @photokitty I've been shocked at the number of Trump supporters on my friend list. I mean it's like 5 out of the 300-something friends I have, but they're really passionate.
Two of my friends (that I haven't spoken to since college and grad school, respectively, so I have no idea why we're still fb friends) have had PPDs in the last year, and they were exactly the same. A local wedding (one at a church, one at park) with about 20ish people (I'm guessing close family and friends), followed by a restaurant. Then a week or two later, off to Aruba and DR for a huge reception with bridal party, tons of guests, spotlight dances, etc. I get why they did it- they're rude. But I don't understand the guests knowingly going to a fake wedding. Maybe just an excuse to travel? Bc there was no hiding the real, smaller wedding, it was all over fb.

The trump stuff... UGH. Just awful.

I have no idea why someone would want to post things like the potty with stuff in it while potty training. I might post a happy post on Facebook once DD is potty trained, but I don't need to update my friends on all her poops, nor do I need to show the toilet. I don't get it. But I also don't get a lot of people's constant posting.

I just don't get those posts. Sure, I've trimmed my Facebook friends list, we all have. Mature adults don't need to AW and announce it.

Someone posted a selfie of her and her H with the caption "my forever wedding date."

A week ago it was "my forever beach date."

A week before that it was "my forever birthday date."

Each selfie is paired with a throwback pic of their wedding, which was more than a few years ago.

We get it. You're married.

I feel like the only reason people do this with such frequency is to try to make others feel inadequate about their own lives. Because with captions like that, it's not about the selfie.

I remember seeing a homophobic post on Facebook years ago from a random dude who liked me. He made some status about how gross or wrong it is for two guys to do it, he finds it gross to see guys hold hands or kiss and a bunch of other intolerant stuff. This was at the height of the gay marriage debate in the country of course. So I deleted him naturally as any reasonable person should. He noticed and started trying to debate me on why it's ok for him to dislike gay men and told me "but I'm ok with lesbians, if you're upset about this because you're a lesbian we can still be friends", wtf, no dude you don't need to be gay or lesbian to know you're a bigot. He kept begging me to friend him again and I blocked him. AND that was the last time I friended someone I don't know in real life.

I won't even take pictures of my baby naked, let alone publish them! There are too many sickos in the world that would take an innocent picture of my sweet boy playing in the tub and use it for their own disgusting use. I also worry that someone will see them and turn me in for having child pornography. I mean the only ones I have of him naked are immediately after he was born and I'm sure I'm being paranoid, but it still worries me.

So, not on facebook - but I know people who post pictures of random people on snapchat and Instagram (I don't use either). Maybe it was because I grew up being bullied and made fun of, but I can't for the life of me take a ninja picture of someone on the streets and post it to make fun of them. Even "people of walmart" makes me cringe. Those people did not go out into the world to be made fun of.

Oh my god my mom does this. She takes photos of people sleeping on the subway in funny positions because she wakes up for work early, it's horrible. The last straw was when she took a photo of a lady with an Afro and made fun of her hair -_- I told her to take it down and that I was embarrassed of having a racist mother. Unfortunately she comes from an era/country that doesn't see this as racist (Dominican Republic), they see black hair as "bad hair" so I blame it on ignorance but that was such a low point for her. She took it down though.
Another person I knew in HS posted a photo making fun of a skinny girl calling her anorexic and flat chested, I nearly called her out on it, being flat chested myself and I used to be underweight. But I chickened out and just hid her posts. People are messed up.

My Mom recently shared a stupid meme that's going around about "The price of Epi has doubled, but Narcan is free. But that's none of my business" and I'm so ashamed. Usually I can ignore a lot of her posts, but this drove me bananas.

I did once very nicely call out a girl on FB for talking about how she was in labor and dilated 10cm. No one needs to know that.
People who shared poop and detailed sickness stuff (like "barfed x color" rather than just "poor thing is ill") get immediately defriended.

I also have called out (politely, I hope) people who react to headlines rather than content. That really drives me nuts in a clickbait world. I have a friend with very opposite political views, and once when she railed about our governor (after news outlets posted soundbites out of context) I said something like, "Oh, here's the full text of his speech. I think the additional context helps people understand his full plans and it's so frustrating how the media just spins things!"

My last teensy tiny beef is with an ex who just got engaged. Both he and his bride-to-be have posted about being on a "journey" with each other. The Bachelor/ette shows have just ruined that word for me. Yuck! Blugh!

Right? I abhor naked baby pictures. My mom didn't take any of me because there are a few of her in the tub that she hates. Doesn't help that when she was a teenager, a neighbor guy who was over for awhile looking at pictures and seemed to take an extra long time on the album pages with the naked photos. Creepy!

I will not take any naked pictures of my children when I have them.

Also, side rant, and I'll probably get flamed but I
really dislike the super artsy photos of newborns. My cousin is a photographer (did our wedding photos, and they are great!), but she's super into them. Google "artsy newborn photos" and you'll see what I mean. I like a more natural journalistic, I think they call it "lifestyle" newborn photography. I eyerolling most of the artsy stuff of the baby's head on their hands, or balled up wrapped in cotton or something.

Perhaps I'm wrong but, to me, people who do that are hyper-sensitive about their own appearance. And I just feel sorry for them that so much of their self worth probably revolves around how people view THEM.

I'm with you on this one. Some of them can be cute but others seem creepy. A high school friend of mine dressed her newborn like a ballerina and posed her arms over her head- like a ballerina would pose, except the baby was laying down, not standing on pointe. It was... weird. Forced.

You know a lot of those "artsy" baby photos are further photoshopped, as the poses or positions with other other objects are so unnatural? Hella creepy.
