  This is more of a vent.

  I don't get how people don't get that my interests =/= your interests.

  I hate Christmas. I hate the hoopla, I hate the shopping, I hate the music, I hate the decorating. I hate Christmas.

  For years MIL has been talking to me about decorating for Christmas and buying me stupid random decorations. I. hate. Christmas.

  When she was at the house this week, she was talking to me about where I can put a Christmas tree in my house. Sorry, no Christmas tree. Then she starts talking about decorations and colors and shit. Just conversationally, I mention that if I were, hypothetically, to enjoy Christmas and decorate, I'd prefer blue/silver type shit than green/red/gold, but reiterated that I dislike Christmas and will not be decorating.

  She just called H to see if I'd like a silver tree.

  I do not want to work tonight.     They brought back an old manager to help out for tonight's wedding.   She was one of the worse event managers I've ever worked for.  So bad I stopped doing events.  The only reason I said I would do tonights was she was gone.  Then I find out she is back for this and another wedding in 2 weeks.
  
  
  I really need an attitude adjustment.

  What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

  Yes.  It wasn't that bad, but I still would have preferred staying home and taking a nap with H!

  We've invited kids to our wedding but I really wish my BM would leave her son at home. He screams All.the.time. and she's the worst at dealing with it. I really wish I could just say "so all these other kids are invited but yours isn't. Sorry". 
  
  (I know I know. I don't have kids. I don't get it. But even her husband will admit that she handles his screaming poorly).
