Good morning!  Rise and shine, WW.  How is life treating you today?

I'm still coughing and stuff, and my voice is about gone.  But overall I feel okay.  Poor DH is getting sick now, though.  :(

If I can make it through today, tomorrow is a half day.  I'm room momming Wooz's class Halloween Fall Party, and then she and I are going to hang out until it's time for DS's party.

S/O DS, (edit: gone!)

  • What a doll face!  Those turned out great!

I didn't win a purse at bingo last night...Womp, womp.  But it was fun.

I am drrraaaagggginnnggg ass today.  I'm so ready for the weekend.
  • Adorable @Heffalump!

Cant wait for Prudie Day. Not much happening here; were going shopping for Halloween candy tonight. Apparently our neighborhood gets a ton of kids so we need to buy all the candy. H and I have divergent candy preferences, he's chocolate I'm gummy so we have to have good balance of candy.
  • @Heffalump He is so stinkin' cute!

Snowed in my area last night. I was not ready to look out my window and see white. Thankfully it's supposed to rain all morning so the snow will be gone by noon. Also thought today was Friday when I woke up so it's been a rough morning already.

    He is too handsome, @Heffalump!

Tomorrow is a half day for me, and then I'm going to drive home to start packing up the stuff we don't want the movers to touch (china, crystal, first edition books, etc.).  We have a time for closing, which of course severely interferes with my work day, so that's awesome (I'm actually torn between whether I want to be sarcastic there, or not).

I had to double up on jackets in the office today, it is so cold.  And I have this weird craving for pizza.  I think my brain is on the fritz.

ETA, @cupcait927, my brother said he got half an inch last night.  Sent me a picture.  He's in Rochester.

  • Threw in the towel and went back to the doctor last night. Still have bronchitis. they gave me a metric shitton of medicine and confirmed my thought that maybe I should see a pulmonologist to make sure there's nothing else going on.
Had the following conversation with the doctor:
Doctor: "I think I'm going to prescribe you (medicine)"
Me: "Oh, is that the one that you take ... (describes exact dosing plan)"
    Doctor: "Yup, you got it."
Me: "I swear, I'm not just here for drugs."

The same guy was treating me 6 months ago for the flu and subsequent ~5 weeks of bronchitis, so he just laughed.

WFH again to babysit contractors. The guy installing the shower door broke the tile *and" didn't get the door hung, so that set things back. Cue homicidal rage. If they don't get finished by Saturday, I might be asking WW to use the bail fund. Yinz can send the bill to our project manager.
  • @AtomicBlonde I live a little south of Rochester and yep, we got about half an inch last night. I told H three times yesterday that it was going to snow overnight (originally they predicted 1-3 inches) and he still texted me this morning to say he wasn't prepared at all for the snow. He didn't think it would stick. The dog had to wear his winter jacket this morning on his walk with H and was less than pleased. So neither of them were happy campers.

One of the extremely few things I don't miss about Western New York are October snows. Although we did have frost in Ohio this week...
  • @Heffalump  what a cutie!!

@cupcait927  they're calling for wet flurries here today :( Likely not staying but still EWWWW

Nothing much last night, however this morning .... omg I am so tired of dealing with our bank and we just started dealing with them!!

Idk if many of you remember, but we've had issues with the bank since day freaking one!
Mortgage comes out on the 26th. Cool. All the money was in joint account and ready to go.
I got paid last night and need to move money for condo fees, so I go to check how much is left after mortgage taken out. All the money is still there. Uhm what?
I check how much mortgage payment is, and just deduct that from what's left to pay for condo fees and send it to the account.

H wakes up, I tell him and he looks at the accounts. He has a personal account with that bank but I can't see it.
THE FUCKING BANK TOOK MONEY FROM HIS ACCOUNT AND NOT JOINT!!!
Which puts him into overdraft, so he just transfers money from joint to his account.

We're going to the bank tonight to rip them a new one! Because of their fuck up, H might get dinged with overdraft fee. We're going to basically go tell them they fucked up on accounts and that he better not get dinged with it.

4 years people. In 4 years when we can renew, we're going to my bank. Less fuck ups. I have only ever had them mess things up ONCE and it was fixed with a simple phone call.

Y'all, we have not even had frost yet.  I think our average first day of frost is Oct. 15, but while it's been cool, it hasn't gotten that cold yet this year.  Contrast that with the olden days in Illinois, when the average day of first snow was Oct. 31.

And thanks for the kind words about DS.  I really liked his photos this time around: he went through a cycle of glaring like the photographer was an axe murderer, and then another cycle of scrunching up his face and saying "Cheeeeeese!"  Those were not the best pics, but these came out well.  He is DH's mini-me, so I can't take any credit for the cuteness. :)

Barbie, I hope you feel better soon.  Not that you have inflammatory bronchitis, but your stories remind me of when I did, the endless sickness and feeling crappy.  Lots of druggy goodness to you.

We're right on time for the average first snowfall. We haven't had a deep frost yet and this is the first week that it's been in the 30s-40s but we always, always get snow in October. Last year it snowed one weekend in October and was in the high 70s the next weekend. It'll be back in the 60s this weekend and we probably won't get snow again until around Thanksgiving.
  • @*Barbie* boo being sick :( what's a 'pulmonologist' ?
  • @Heffalump Thanks. The pics are adorable - glad your school has a decent photographer - that seems to be rare around here.

Snow and turning on the heat - that's cute. <3 I still have the AC running. October is a fun month in TX.
  • Morning, y'all. I'm in the same boat as @Heffalump - we haven't had frost here yet either. Actually the high is supposed to be 82 today, and over the weekend its supposed to get up to 85. Whyyy???

I think I'm trying to get sick. I woke up all stuffy and with a soreish scratchy throat. I've been in this weird limbo between not feeling great but not actually sick for the last week. I need my body to make up its mind.

Nothing new here today. DH found out that his first job will be somewhere in Virginia. Not sure what part yet, but that should be nice. I've planned a trip to see him in a couple of weeks, so I'm hoping he ends up somewhere nice and fun!

  • Not overly whine worthy... but I work a 5 day week this week, every second week its a 4-dayer. The other assistant that I cross-shift with is going on a European adventure mid next week, which means I'll be working three five day weeks in a row because I have to cover for her. Add that in to my travel envy and I'm just immensely annoyed, and annoyed with myself for being annoyed because I've had my share of vacays over the past year.

In other news... one more week until FI comes home! I don't think I could possibly be more excited!!!! I don't know what it is lately but having him gone for two weeks and then home for one has reaaaaallly been sucking. More than it has for the past 6 years that we've been doing it.

    Wah.

  • It's still in the 80's here. They're saying we're not going to have a winter this year.

    @MissKittyDanger a pulmonologist is a lung doctor.

I saw my perinatologist yesterday and met with the genetic counselor. Baby girl is doing really well. She's right on target and fortunately not expected to get as big as big brother. Unfortunately, I have been diagnosed with symphysis pubis dysfunction and told there's nothing they can do about it. I'll be doing my own research on that.

Baby is cutting a central incisor and apparently it hurts because he woke up at 11, 2, 3, 4, and 5. We're exhausted today.
  • @DrillSergeantCat  ohhh!! Thanks! Haven't heard of one before.
    And jeez, poor kid :(
  • I can't wait for this week to end!  I think its dragging because vacation is coming up next Saturday.  I just want it here already!  It may also be dragging because I get my next ultrasound on Monday and I can't wait to see baby again!

Last night was uneventful and this morning was uneventful.  Just need to keep it that way!

    And bring on the Prudie!

  • Hi!

I have been in sales meeting/trainings for the last two days which means I have been stuck in a room from 7-5 two days in a row, drank too much Tuesday night, way too much, and then after the meeting yesterday I had a catering event for 4 hours. Needless to say, I got ten hours of sleep last night and am WFH today so I don't have to wear pants.

Darn, I missed the cute pics!  @*barbie* hope you feel better. @drillsergeantcat what the heck is symphysis pubis dysfunction?

No snow here but it did snow in northern MI.

  • Oh yeah and we have engagement pics on Monday and I have nothing to wear....tips anyone?

    Inside or outside?

I think sweaters, jeans, and boots would be cute for outdoor pics.  Or a sweater dress with a cute scarf and leggings and booties?  Flannel shirts?  Fave sports team shirts?  How many outfits are you doing?
  • @kimmiinthemitten it's where the joint of the pelvis is loose and misaligned causing pain when moving anything in the pelvic region.
  • Ouch!  Sorry DSC.

@mrsconn23 yeah that's probably good information. Haha. They're indoors at Ford Field (where the Lions play) but it's only one outfit and we agreed to no team shirts.  In addition to have some obvious photos (like in our seats) they added on to an old building when they built the stadium so there's some cool not obviously football field spots as well.

He's wearing a button up and jeans. My challenge is I went from Hourglass to Spoon shape and haven't mastered dressing for my new body (and I'm terrified of how my midsection will look). Jeans a sweater with boots is cute though. I was also debating leggings or a skirt. Ahh it's so hard.

  • The girls are off today, tomorrow and Monday, but poor Son still has school.

I addressed all of my sister's baby shower invites yesterday and need to take them to the post office today for stamps.

The only set plans for the weekend are to watch the world series.  I pretty much have the girls' costumes finished (just need to spray paint some shoes) so I'm looking for things to do.

  • @kimmiinthemitten can you do a shirt dress of some kind and put a belt in your midsection?  I would mostly just make sure your top isn't too flowy.
  • @kimmiinthemitten  one thing I've always favoured when I feel self conscious about myself {one reason or another} is layers. You could do a skirt with leggings and maybe a nice sweater that will make you feel comfortable. Something comfortable but maybe not super form fitting if you're nervous.

    I'm sure you'll look great regardless ;)

    IM IN A BOX :(

I've seen some photos with a cute dress, dark tights and then a flowy cardigan. Kind of formal-ish, kind of fally. I also really like a jeans, boots and flowy sweater look too. Comfy and casual.

  • @kimmiinthemitten is there anything you've boughten lately that you feel really good in? Or do you have time to do a little splurge shopping? I love all the suggestions of leggings/sweater dress/blouse or jeans/boots/flowy top, but really the best thing is going to be something you feel great in. Maybe do a little shopping for something new?

The only thing I've purchased lately has been bras  (I'm finally out of one boob sports bra land!).

I'm going to go shopping tomorrow and see what I like, I'm think I'm going to make a list with suggestions from you guys and take pics to see how it looks.  I was trying on little jackets with jeans and didn't like any of them.
