@kimmiinthemitten check out some tunic style tops. They're longer and will cover your midsection if you're uncomfortable and they have diff styles out there - form fitting, baggy, long sleeve, short sleeve, etc

Yeah, Wooz's school pics now are the usual cheesy variety with the same cheesy backgrounds and hack photographer. I miss her DC school pics.

@MissKittyDanger - a lung/respiratory specialist. I got the flu back in March which triggered bronchitis that took ~5 weeks and 2 additional trips to the doctor to clear up. I've been sick essentially the last month now with bronchitis, and once again the first cycle of meds hasn't cleared it up. So this is 2x in 6 months that I've had this really resistant bronchitis - even minor physical activity is triggering coughing fits to the point where I'm having trouble breathing. Last night i had to stop at the pharmacy to drop off one of the prescriptions (a narcotic cough syrup - so they couldn't fax it.) The drive through line was crazy, so I parked and walked inside. By the time I got to the back of the store, i was coughing so hard, i nearly puked. That got them moving a bit.

@*barbie* I'm going to go see my chiropractor to see if that helps some. Fortunately, they have office hours on Saturdays. It didn't help with the last one, though because they just can't get quite that low.

So DH and I were lamenting that we've done a lot lately without the kids (ahem, Hawaii) and we have tickets to this weekend's Colts game (it was our bday present this year). We were going to leave the kids home alone (or with FIL, since he offered to come over) DefConn was also crying this morning about not being able to go to the game with us.

Soooo...we found tickets in our section. They're two rows down and a couple seats over...but it's do-able and maybe someone will trade seats with us (if not, we'll each take a kid). We're not telling the kids until Sunday morning.

I'm terrible at keeping exciting secrets/surprises.

I have a facial and Brazilian tonight, FI is home and going to make dinner for when I get home. so sweet.
I am waiting to finish off my term and class in school and I only have tomorrow to do it because I will not be doing homework on vacation. The reviewer has not reviewed it yet and it's seriously taking forever, which is annoying the piss outta me.

Snow already?!? hells to the no. Way to early.

I just got my new "business cards" from my company. They're the DIY print-at-home template with the perforated edges that never come off cleanly. So half of the 3 sheets I've attempted to detach and separate have messy edges and/or are just plain ripped.

How is this a professional standard? I can't hand this garbage out to anyone! I am too ashamed to even put it in a SCRAPBOOK.

Cost-cutting at work, I suppose. Vistaprint, it is.

Dammit I always miss your son, Heffa!

I'm sorry I seem to have gotten everyone sick - I'm finally feeling better.

I'm back to work today after being in MO Tuesday and yesterday for my friend's wake and funeral. Such a great family - so sad.

So, I'm sad/disappointed/mad at H. I got Hawks tickets for Tuesday night and I thought it would be fun for us to go, especially since we were literally just talking about how we don't do enough fun things together. He doesn't want to go. Because it's a Tuesday. I'm not going to beg the guy to hang out with me but JFC, could you be any older of an old ass man? So now I'm stuck with these tickets.

Yeah. And he'd want to drive in so we'd be home by like 11:30 at the latest. I told him I was sad and brought up our conversation about doing things together. He's like, "Well, we went to Green Bay." FFS. Good thing we met our annual quota of one date-y thing.

I caught my boss literally on his way out the door yesterday and he agreed to sign off on my vacation days. So that means WE ARE OFFICIALLY GOING TO MILAN DECEMBER 28-JANUARY 8! FI seems oddly "meh" on this development, seeing as how this has been a dream of his for the last 10+ years. But I know it's just because he is super busy--this is going to be a 70-80 hour week for him. I trust that he will be excited once he has time to breathe and think about something other than work.

Today is by boss's 40th birthday. We are having office lunch to celebrate, and then there is a surprise party organized by his wife after work. We are also working on our entry for an inter-departmental pumpkin carving contest. Everybody gets *really* into it, with dioramas and animations and all that sort of stuff. Ours is going to be "steam-pumpkin" (steam punk style.) I'm excited to see how it turns out; we have a pretty great artist on our team this year. So suffice it to say that not much work is being done in our office today.

My level of whether or not I should do it is waning ....
This morning I thought the breakfast burrito I got was giving me heart burn, however now it seems it's actually my back being complete douche.
I've spent the last hour or so trying to crack and stretch it, but not helping. So I said to H that tonight - after groceries and bank shit - we stop at my mum's place. His loot crate is in, and she can crack my back. Also he can learn how to do it. He never does it because he's too nervous to press too hard - maybe because he's a bigger guy? - so he's gotta learn now. Especially since we don't live close to my mum like before.

Rest of the afternoon I'm just sitting still. Tylenol not helping and dreading groceries later

I was PO'ed when I went to bed last night and had to turn the A/C on. I thought I was done with that until spring!

Me and one of my coworkers have wondered when Fall is coming. Usually Oct. is the best ever, because there is no heat or a/c needed.

If we get screwed out of Fall weather completely, it better be a really mild winter (grumble, grumble, grumble).

WOW! I thought I'd worked for some cheap companies. I've never heard of a company doing that. I would generally side-eye being given a card like that. Not so much from a repair person or small proprietor, but a larger business, yeah.

I fully admit to using the "print you're own" business cards for my own business. But that was a for a specific weirdo thing I was doing. I had a last minute cancellation for the last weekend of Jazz Fest for my vacation rental. It was still two weeks out, so I spent a couple hours passing those cards out to people at hotel reception desks for hotels that were already booked. With instructions to give the caller their name, if they gave out my info. I'd then return with a $50 bill for them if their referral landed a booking.

Meh, it was a nice try on my part. But no dice.

Now I use them for dropping into restaurant fish bowls to try and win a free lunch. No luck with that strategy yet either, lol.
