Fuck 2016. My dad is back in the hospital. They kept him there for 2 or 3 days after the accident that tore his arm open, went home for a couple of days, and today he had a follow up appointment to change the dressing and assess progress. Well, apparently it's infected in a way that could be life threatening if they didn't get to it right away, so they are rushing him into surgery now. My mom says he "shouldn't lose the arm." While I suppose that is technically good news, it's terrifying that it's a thing that needs to be said.

I'm not religious but my mom asked me to pray for him and I did.

I had a good day. Successfully went skiing without having a panic attack. I sometimes get myself worked up, but not today. Don't get me wrong, I'm a pretty slow skier and will never break a world record, but at least I was fairly comfortable out there.

Tomorrow is my first real day at work and my first snowmobile ride. So excited to get back to work. It's also our town's tree lighting. DH is judging a baking contest at the event. It's mostly older ladies making cookies. DH happily jumped on the offer. Ha.

@CharmedPam, Sorry to hear about your pay decrease . Yeah, it's like...ummm, thanks for the tote bag, coffee mug, baseball cap, and whatever other schwag with the new company logo. But what I really want for Christmas is my paycheck back. That last line needs to be sung to the tune of "What I Really Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth."

I have an interview with a real estate company tomorrow to talk to them about becoming an agent. I feel like I'm at a cross roads. Do I want to pursue a more typical office job, like I have now, or venture out into the more unknown of becoming an agent. I think I'd really like the job and I'd definitely love the independence. And bonus, I would have 6 months of unemployment once I get laid off to help tide me over when I'm first starting. Which I'd assume would be the hardest, leanest time.

Speaking of real estate, the person I scheduled a showing with yesterday afternoon was a no-show. She was meeting my H, who was over there working anyway, so it at least wasn't inconvenient. But the really, really weird part was she texted me 15 minutes after she was supposed to show up. Apologized for running late and said she was on her way. Still didn't show. No word from her, until late this afternoon. She sends me a text that said, "Thank you for your help." I'm not sure what that means or if it was even meant for me, so I just ignored it.

No-shows are super rude and super aggravating, though. In this day and age of cell phones and 20-second text messages, I don't understand why someone WOULDN'T send a quick text if they aren't coming or changed their mind. I'm not going to be mad, I'm not going to grill anybody, I'm not emotionally invested in that person. Just have a modicum of common courtesy. IMHO, it shows a low character and no sense of responsibility. Especially when text messages make it is so fast and easy. <<rant over>>

Y'all, I should have asked but didn't because I was laughing. My best guess is that it's undiseased (always good, if you're the OB/GYN or the owner), and after pushing out two kids (including 9 lb DS) the ol' fashioned way, it's not in tatters or anything.

I don't know, I just take my cervix compliments where I can get them.

My damn cats haven't used their cat tree since we moved over the summer and it makes me sad. I have no idea where to put it so these damn guys will use it again- they used to practically live in it.
