My fiance and I are looking to get our engagement pictures done sometime this spring. I was wondering if you all had any reccommendations for outside locations in or around Baltimore.

Annapolis has some great spots - so does Fells Point!

We did ours in Fells Point and loved them! A close second was Federal Hill Park.

My best advice is to talk it over with your photog and choose a location that your photographer is familiar with... they will know the best places and little niches to take advantage of for photo ops.

Ditto pp about asking your photographer, though. He/she will have spots they like to go and take couples, will know the good spots there, and how to make the most of your time. If they go somewhere fresh it might be a lot of walking around trying to find the best spots.

I'm doing them at a hotel with quirky decor....we are going for a very modern look though....so that's another idea

We did ours at Rocks. Not quite as many different 'locations' there as going somewhere in Baltimore or Annapolis, but our photographer was able to find a good number of spots and different angles and our photos were great.

What we're doing is going someplace with meaning to us, which happens to be Gettysburg (where we went on our second date). We want to take advantage of the architecture, antique shops and the cool old train station.

There are tons of cool/unique places in the Baltimore area. In addition to some of the places already mentioned, i think some other places that would lend to great photo opps would be The Baltimore Zoo, Hamden, Patterson Park, etc.

We had our engagement photos taken last spring in Fells Point. I live in Fells so it was very convenient! Pick an atmosphere that is special to you! Fells was a great location b/c we live here, bought our first house here, and it's eclectic/historic nature is so charming. The pics came out great! WE just got our save the dates and used a pic from our photos on Thames St. They turned out incredible! Another cool spot is Fed Hill and in front of American Visionary Art Museum when the word LOVE is written...You can also get great ideas from other people like having words save the date or the date you were engaged on paper that you are holding. Might be a little cheezy but when done, the pics I saw are cute!

We had our done in Canton, in and around the square. My photographer isn't familar with Baltimore, so when she got the the square she was so excited, she had so many different options for backgrounds. Here is actually our favorite photo, we had blast running around the square, it happened to be the 2nd of January, cold as anything out, with the wind blowing, but we had fun.
