What up peeps?  How was the weekend?

Welp, this weekend turned out not as planned. 

As soon as I got off work Friday, DH's grandma called with the timing of the services and it turned out that they really had to leave on Saturday.  So less than 24 hours before my kid's bday party, we had to tell him it wasn't happening.  DefConn was not thrilled with this news.   And at the time this all culminated we were trying to get out the door to get DH downtown for a Pacers game.  So in the moment I was sad for my kid (oh he was beside himself) and just impotently PISSED.  After taking DH downtown, we went to dinner and then headed to the store to get stuff for the road trip.  DefConn talked me into a new truck...this one has a camper and everything.  ;) Oh and I got a wee bit tipsy Friday night...DH also got a little drunk too...at midnight we were drunk eating chips and dip and giving the kiddo life advice because we are awesome parents.  ;) 

Saturday, we got up and I helped DH get ready for the trip.  After that, I cleaned house because I was bored.  I took the kiddo to work and then went to my parent's house for dinner.  My sister and nephews were there as well.

Sunday, I worked a little OT.  I took the kiddo to work and then went shopping.  I got some cute stuff for spring/summer.  My favorite shorts were back in stock at my local boutique,  w00t! 

DefConn's having a fine time.  He called me last night.  He's the only kid with DH, FIL, BIL, and DH's uncles.  He's getting spoiled rotten. 

Also, two DefConn funnies.

1) After he calmed down on Friday, we were talking about the weekend and he said to me, "Mommy, I hope this never happens again on my birthday!  I don't want to ever have to postpone my party!"

2) Talking to him last night he said, "Something funny happened on the way here. Daddy got off on the wrong interstate and we got a little bit lost.  When he got off on the wrong interstate, he said, "Oh crap! Oh geeze, this is the wrong interstate!" and I said, "Yeah, daddy.  I told you to be paying attention!"" 

Oy, this kid.  ;)

    Welp, no dice on the job we were hoping to hear from. Apparently hiring manager decided to not hire anyone new at this time. {fucker ...}

    Weekend was decent. Didn't do much, which was exactly what was needed.

    Friday - M went to a buddy's place to play poker. So I edited and showered. Well attempted to edit. I don't have the software on my new laptop so I use the old one to edit then I just move the final product to my new laptop and upload. Seems my old laptop is hateful because it took foreverrrrrrr to do anything! Guhh ....

    Saturday - I went to clinic. It's blockage, not infection. I got a spray to use.
    M went to the shooting range. I ended up taking a nap later and we just had leftovers for dinner.

    Sunday - I made a dessert/snack idea. Peanut butter and marshmallows. Not bad. Apparently it's M's fave dessert? LMFAO! Learn something new every day ;)
    Did cleaning, and then we watched "Star Trek - Beyond"

    @mrsconn23poor DefConn having to change his party :( Were you able to reschedule?
    Also your kids are funny :)

    Yeah, we already came up with a 'rain date' of April 15th earlier in the week.  And thanks...they keep us rolling.  ;)

    @mrsconn23, sorry about the change of plans.  Can you reschedule? 

    Weekend was terribly terribly boring. I can't even remember my Friday night, but I'm sure it had to do with hours on end with the software on mypublisher. 

    Saturday, I thought it was my slow ass internet making the software lag.  So I brought my laptop into my office to use their wifi.  Just as slow. It was aggravating.  It may be that my laptop is just slow and the software is just fine?  Saturday my friend and I had a girls night out.  It's been years.  Dinner/movie/drinks.  We saw Kong.  It was actually pretty good.

    Sunday DH got off work at 1:00 p.m. after a VERY long day and night. He crashed but got up to see CHIPS and have dinner with me.  It was not as funny as I expected.

    aaaaaaaaaaaaand I just realized I forgot to put deodorant on this morning during my morning routine.  I was up for 2 hours during the night and really tired this morning.  My travel size isn't in my purse either.  Guess I'll take a early lunch and go home to freshen up (beauty of living 10 minutes away).

    edit:  oh, and i did watch a few eps of "say yes to the dress" on Saturday.  Brought me down memory lane.  Dress shopping was shockingly fun for me.  And I'm NOT a dress person.

    I worked on Pride stuff all weekend.  Necessary, rewarding, but still tiring and not restful.  I also just had some restless sleep b/c of concentrating so much.

    And I found out exH is engaged to SWF (the people who know everything she did to me have just started referring to her as single white female re: the movie).  I actually really hope they're happy.  They're actually a good match in baggage.  I was sent the proposal aftermath picture and I kind of blinked and busted out laughing.  The shirt he was wearing was the shirt he wore when we were married.   And it explains why the abandonment of the dogs is happening.  Which, in a weird way, made it easier for me.  Now I have a logical reason for him to have done that.  It's still a shitty reason, but logic helps me process.  It's when I can't understand why that I can't process things.

    K is doing a bit better.  We were able to go out to brunch yesterday just b/c she had massive cabin fever.  She ate some migas, so she was pretty happy.

    I love DefConn stories. I'm sorry y'all had to cancel the party though @mrsconn23. 

    I'm really sorry about the job situation @MissKittyDanger. That sucks! Especially since he basically was led to think that he would for sure get it. 

    Weekend was great, but it was a blur. How come the week drags by and you blink and the weekend is over? 

    Saturday I slept in. My FSIL cancelled our mani date because BIL was having a friend over. I'm scratching my head over what that has to do with anything. My guess he didn't want to watch the kids, because ya know, that's a woman's job. *eye roll* Yeah, he's one of those. 

    One of my best friends and I went to see Beauty and the Beast on Saturday afternoon. It was magical. We were singing. The whole theater was singing. I swear there were more adults without kids in the movie than families. It was awesome. Then we went to Chuy's and ate our feelings. 

    Sunday was church, home, and church again. It was a loooong day. 

    Fun times, Jackie (old dog) had gotten sick everywhere when I got home on Saturday night. She threw up 4 times and had diarrhea once (sorry if that's tmi). Last night when I got home she'd pooped in the floor. She woke me up every hour and a half to go outside last night. She did the same thing on Friday night. I hope she's ok, but I am so tired and irritated over feeling like I never fully slept.

    @mrsconn23, poor DefConn!  I hope you all are able to reschedule his party.  Though it sounds like he's having a great "guys" vacation.

    @MissKittyDanger, sorry to hear about the job for M.  A couple years ago, my H got hired.  Went in the first day to fill out the new hire paperwork.  Then got a call that afternoon that the person he would be replacing decided not to leave.

    Update on my delinquent tenants.  They FINALLY paid their rent on Friday.  "Only" two weeks late.  We were at that house on Saturday for the other tenants because an appliance repair guy was coming.  The yard is still unmowed and has the car and the appliance on it, smh.  But the sickly looking dogs in the backyard were gone!  Phew.  Hopefully they didn't just move them into the house.  I suspect not, but we'll keep our eye out and encouraged the other tenant to let us know if they are still being bothered by barking.

    It was repair weekend!  On Friday, my H and our plumber went to one of our rental houses to unclog a drain and replace toilet flappers.  That was $180 "flushed away", haha.  Then Saturday was the appliance repair (above) at a different house.  We ended up buying a "new" used washer he had for $200.  AND then we got a text from our tenant on Sunday that she's washed the same load three times and sand is coming in from the holes in the basket.  We have a 30-day warranty, but still a pain.

    But super good news.  We finally got the bill from our electrician for the work he did at our most current rehab.  We were expecting it to be $2500-$3,000.  It was only $1100!!!  We thought maybe he had forgotten some items and we might get another bill later.  But my H reviewed the invoice thoroughly and said all the line items were there.  Score!

    We went to a mystery shop brunch on Saturday.  Delicious!  Sunday was a day of total rest.  I needed it!

    poor Defconn.  I remember when my grandmother passed it was my cousin's kid's 2nd birthday.  She was all "I just told him his birthday is next week.  He's got 15 aunts and uncles telling him the same lie.  It's all good."

    Our spring break trip was FANTASTIC.  (thanks again @mrsconn23).  There were water parks, snow tubing, caverns, ropes courses, lots of food and games.  Monday night of the trip DH and I got a little tipsy and introduced 6let to WWE and gave a few life tips as well.  Oops.

    Friday night DH opened the dishwasher door while I was trying to pack things up to come home.  I didn't know the door was open and walked full force into it.  The door scraped the shit out of both shins and left some nice bruises.  Luckily I got my hands in front of my face before I fell to the floor and I landed on the other side instead of onto the door.  Because of my skin issues I keep having allergic reaction all along the wound sites (basically a 3" section on both shins).  In other words I'm a mess.

    This week is catching up on work, laundry, cleaning, getting ready for M2's party (Pinterest threw up rainbows in my house), and getting ready for 6let's surgery.  MIL is coming Wednesday night and I'm trying hard to be nice.

    @thefanciestbeckler  yeh I don't think the company doing the interview process was too impressed either. At least it's a staffing agency, so they can help look for more work for him. Just disappointing because it just sounded so good :(

    I'm a little rage-y today.  After working all day Saturday and half of Sunday (again), I came home and immediately got a call from one of DH's aunts about DH's SIL's baby shower, an event to which I unsurprisingly did not receive an invitation, but apparently to which I was still obligated to provide a gift.  And an apology for who the fuck knows what.  I tried hard to be civil as I ended the conversation with something along the lines of, "She made a conscious decision to deliberately exclude her BIL's wife, and I am under no obligation to provide a gift.  I have burned exactly zero bridges, and will not apologize for the choices others make.  Please do not bring this up again."  But I am PISSED, and spent a large portion of yesterday in a fiery fury.  IDGAF about not getting an invitation, since that's par for the course.  I'm pissed about everything else.

    Ugh.  Family.  Sometimes I'm glad mine is so small and scattered.

    After that, I tried to unwind, which has completely exhausted me, and I'm so ready for Friday.

    @VarunaTT, glad to hear K is feeling better and eating "solid" foods again.  Migas is good stuff.

    @thefanciestbeckler, Now I want to go see Beauty and the Beast!  Everyone singing in the theatre just sounds so fun.  I was in a casino one time and "Sweet Caroline" had just started on the overheard music.  As it came to the first chorus, all the tables around me loudly sang the "Sweet Caroline" part.  I was dying of laughter.

    @6fsn, glad to hear you had a good trip!  Though I'm wincing just reading about your dishwasher injury.  Ouch!  Hope it heals quickly.

    @atomicblonde, Oh!  Is that a thing now?  Expecting gifts from people you don't invite to a party.  I wish I'd known.  I could have gotten SO many more wedding presents/sarcasm.

    @thefanciestbeckler, I love B&B.  My friend suggested we see it on Saturday and I said "saw it. But I'll see it again....!" but we opted for Kong instead.

    @atomicblonde, I'm pissed FOR you. How do you need to send a gift without even being invited?  It makes NO sense to me either!

    @charlotte989875, she is a DOLL.  So precious! I can see why you're so much in love.  <3<3<3

    I'm here.  Just took both kids to the dentist, no cavities x 2. 

    The weekend was fun.  We had great weather for hiking, and it was nice seeing FIL and his wife again.  The cabin was lovely.  Wooz had fun at her playdate when we got back.  DS still does not understand soccer.  He seems to get it when we play at home, but in a game, not so much.

    They finally set a date for my grandma's funeral, and it looks like we'll be doing a mom/me/Wooz road trip. :|

    @short+sassy you definitely should see it. They kept it very very close to the original, which made it even better. Everybody singing was the best. Definitely the same effect that "Sweet Caroline" has at a bar. Lol.

    I'm feisty today too. I dressed up today just so I could say yes if someone asked if I have an interview today - even though I don't.  o:)

    It wasn't a dramatic exit. I wish it had been. Long story short, boss man blatantly lied to her last week. We pretty much knew it was a lie, but she got confirmation  today. She. Was. PISSED. She packed a bunch of her stuff up and came in my office and said, "I might not be back. I'll talk to you later."  I said "ever????" And she just kinda gave me a look. You know the kind of look. It will be dramatic when boss man figures out that she isn't here though.
