Wedding Woes

Friday!! FINALLY!

What's up for the weekend?

I'm off work today.  My nephew is here until I meet up with my sister later on.  The kiddo's at FIL's.  I might take the boys to see Wonder Woman since they've both already seen Capt. Underpants.

Tomorrow, Costco run and prep for DH's big adventure out west.  They leave in 2 weeks and we're OOT for a wedding next weekend.

Sunday, running down to visit BIL/SIL/nephew in the morning at SIL's dad's place.  After that, normal Sunday...early dinner and DH goes to work (one of his last few Sunday nights.  :D

That sounds like a busy weekend!  Have fun.  I hear good things about WW, if you see it let us know what you think.

Last day of school!  A bunch of us are meeting up at the neighborhood pool for a pizza/pool party tonight.  Swim meet first thing tomorrow, so we'll be up at the ass crack of dawn again.  Mr. Heff and I are ditching the kids at parents' night out tomorrow night to eat Thai food and see Alien: Covenant.

Dropped the kids at Vbs. Then we're headed to my sister for eye exams. Dh is off today to do yardwork and he's a crank pot.

    tomorrow two baseball games.

Sunday is is supposed to be hot so I'm thinking a pool day.
  • Not much is going on, Heffa.

Today, work.  Tonight, I was invited to go watch a band that sings naughty songs of the sea.  I'm awfully tired, though, so I'm not sure I'll make it.

Tomorrow and Sunday, I tutor.  But otherwise, the weekend is plan-free.  I might try to go see Wonder Woman.  Might go on a date or two.  Who knows?

Mostly, I'm counting down until the end of the day to go home and sleep.

I keep having to remind myself that kids still being in school is actually normal, since we're 2 weeks into break (with only 6 left).  ;)

DefConn keeps asking how many weeks are left.  Just enjoy, dude.  LOL
  • Low key night tonight since we've been busy all week. I have a load of laundry I brought down to the main level to do, but have yet to do .... and I have a new pile starting upstairs. So I really need to get that done lmao

If it hasn't rained, M is cleaning up the yard. We now have a grass rake, so that'll be easier.

Saturday - again pending it doesn't rain - my mum and I are hitting a farmers market near my place. We've been talking about going since we bought the house, because of location.
Evening I'm thinking we might hit ikea for the patio set.

Sunday is Costco. I am legit dreading it because I hate busy Costco. I'm hoping the afternoon won't be busy .... or at least less busy. *sigh*

We're also cleaning up the basement and M is watching something Sunday evening about Microsoft because they're talking about "Project Scorpio" {which is the new xbox} .... yeh joy :|

I'm curious on what these songs are!
  • Uuugghhh, bad day, yesterday.  My car totally died.  In the middle of the road, right after an intersection, in rush hour traffic.  After almost 5 minutes of continued honking at me (yes, people could still go around)...believe you me, jerks, I'm not trying to f**k up your drive home on purpose...a very kind guy on a bicycle came over and pushed my car over to the curb.

70 minutes later, the tow truck finally arrives.  Almost two hours after I started heading home from work, I finally get there.  I had my car dropped off at a mechanic's shop within walking distance of my house.  At least that was handy.

I had to get up at the crack of dawn to catch the bus, so my H went over to the mechanic's shop this morning.  Still too early to have any word, but I think the fuel pump went out.  I also have some other minor stuff I'm going to have them take care of while the car is there.  Crossing my fingers I can get everything done for under $1,000.  Come on...come on...no whammies!

I'd also love to have my car back by the end of the day, but I'm sure that's a fool hardy wish.  Especially since I drive a MINI Cooper.  She's a foreign "special snowflake".

So, what am I doing this weekend?  Probably nothing, lol.  We were going to a food festival on Sat., but it's too far to go by bus, so that will be a kibosh unless I get my car back today.

  • I hate when a band sounds completely different live than they do recorded. Fortunately, Modest Mouse sounds just as good live! The concert was standing room only. I was worried that I was going to be one of the oldest people there, but I was probably average. It was hot as balls and the bass kept vibrating my boobs and trying to make me let down. There was a girl there that was dancing so wide that we had to give her a wide berth, but hey I'm glad she was enjoying herself.

I have no idea what, if anything, we have planned for the weekend outside of breakfast with MIL tomorrow. Probably lots of packing. Speaking of real estate...I got an email from my realtor this morning which was a forward from the title company asking for proof that a couple of judgments against me were closed. Only problem is, they're not judgments against me, I just had a very common name. So now, I'm worried about it. I don't understand why they need that for me to sell my house. The house I'm buying is good to go.

@mrsconn23 @Heffalump WW was good. There were times it was a bit too CGI and some of Gal Gadot's facial expressions were silly, but still really good. My favorite tweet about it was
"All the dudes in Wonder Woman: Diana NO
    Diana: Diana yes"
I literally started crying at one point when she went into battle because it was just so powerful that a woman finally is the badass we deserve.

    So much bolded
  • @short+sassy, oh no!  That sucks.  I hope your Mini is back up and running soon.

I know, it's crazy (to me) that you all have already been out for a couple of weeks.  I told Wooz she was leaving the house a second grader and returning tonight as a third grader, and then I had to bite my lip. :'(

Also, I forgot to mention above (because I temporarily forgot, myself) that the reason for tomorrow's date night is that Sunday is our 11th anniversary.  Last year was the big, fancy dinner, apparently 11 is Thai and a movie. :)

Invitations for my brother's wedding arrived yesterday, and I still feel like I have a lot to do.  Desperately waiting for my dress to ship, and getting a little nervous.  I still have over a month, but chances are it will need alterations.
  • @short+sassy  that's awful for your car :( Sucky people but glad someone could help you!
  • Happy Anniversary Heff!

I just read this morning that people were crying during the battle scenes.  That's awesome, but I still totally won't see it until it's OnDemand LOL.

Tonight is chill, my allergies turned into a head cold so that sucks.  Tomorrow, H surprised me by booking a hotel and dinner reservation downtown to make up for blowing me off Wednesday.  He only has 3 more wake ups before summer vacation, but these past two months of being passing ships in the night in our own home has been wearing on us.  We're going to Phoenix next weekend to visit his family, and then I think I have catering gigs every weekend for the rest of the summer so this is much needed and will be fun.

  • @mrsconn23 and @Misskittydanger - Costco on the weekends - you guys are brave.  May the force be with you.
@short+sassy, sucks about the car.  Why do people honk?  like you said - it's not like you WANT your car to stall.
@drillsergeantcat, awesome about a good concert!  I can't do standing room only.  I can only stand for a short time :(

Since DH's bff totally ditched him and ignored all his calls, texts and messages, I guess we have Fri and Sat to ourselves (I'm pissed about this since DH had to take a PTO day for him!).  I think we'll see "Chicago - the musical" at a local theater tonight and "King Arthur" at the movies sometime tomorrow.  We're trying to not spend too too much after Ireland sucked all our money (but I can't stop spending!!!).

  • @kimmiinthemitten I thought I was being silly! I had no idea it was so common!
  • My level of patience for grown adults acting like horribly behaved toddlers is gone.  Kaput.

    More Pride work.
  • @CharmedPam I'll probably never do it again. My back and feet were killing me when we left. I'm glad I wore comfortable shoes.

H left this morning for an 8 day trip so just me and the baby. I'm used to doing most everything so it isn't a big deal although having to do more house stuff that he usually does will stink.

Thinking of hitting the neighborhood pool this weekend with the baby. Not sure how he will do but I'd like to try. It is going to be hot so we need some relief.

I'm running a 5K Sunday, the last 2 I've signed up for I haven't been able to do (1 I was injured, 1 cancelled for rain). My parents are going to meet me and watch B so I dont have to run with the stroller. Might head to their house afterwards to hang and have pool time there too.

We're going to a concert that is GA and lawn seating in 2 weeks....and I'm hoping they dont ban chairs because we're bringing ours!  or....we're just flat out sitting on the lawn!

I feel your pain about the real estate stuff! I'm selling some property that was my Mom's. The paralegal who drew the paperwork up had made so many mistakes (including my SSN) that I've lost count. Since everything is being done long distance that makes all the mistakes a pain. However, I think everything I'm mailing back to them today is good to go. Next week, this time it should all be over.

Not much going on this weekend. We are home (the only weekend in June) so will do house and yard stuff. Tomorrow we are going to some friends for dinner - should be fun. They are from Iran and are cooking everything.
  • @CharmedPam  if you hear of a 29yr old beating people in Costco .... it's me. I'm hoping Sunday will be less busy as most people will have done it either earlier that day, or another day.

nice job @lyndausvi  I don't even walk 3 miles on flat pavement in 42 minutes
  • @short+sassy that was why I got rid of my mini. I loved her but she was way too expensive. I would love another one but I'll only lease them from now on. That way when they hit that 50-60k mark when they start to fall apart I'll just turn it into the dealer.

Work today. GOT marathon tomorrow and a hike on Sunday. Yesss. I'm so ready for the weekend.

  • Sorry about your car, @short+sassy! So annoying when people honk at you!

Tonight if it's not raining, we might take Mutt to the dog park before the meeting.

Tomorrow I'm delivering food bags to seniors and low-income folks. After that is a neighborhood block party, and I plan to go to that. I'm hoping FW and Housemate want to go too. My sponsor is out of the country at a conference, so I won't see him for a week and a half. Lucky guy though; he gets to go to London and Paris. Tomorrow night is probably going to be low-key. Read, maybe get caught up on Doctor Who.

Sunday morning I'm going to a Huddle retreat. It's a group of women who went to the Women's March and are doing a lot of other activism. In the afternoon, I'm going to my drum circle.

Oh, we might be taking on another housemate. A friend of FW's has an iffy living situation to begin with and just got laid off from her job. Neither Housemate nor I know her well, so we're planning to have dinner next week to get to know each other a bit more.
  • Happy Friday! Volunteered a shift at the clinic this morning and got some groceries. Just got a call about a job interview on Monday. The pay sucks, but might be able to make it work with a part-time lecturing gig. Hopefully this one works out!
  • She is cute @kimmiinthemitten. Every time I see an English bulldog I think of a college professor I knew. He owned one and boy did they look alike!
  • Wonder Woman was the shizz.   I definitely got the feels.   I kind of want to see it again.  ;)
