Toronto Wedding Venue Suggestions

Hi everyone,

Currently my fiance and I are looking for a wedding venue for 2018. Our ideal space can fit 200 people and is approximately $100/per plate. I know it's a bit difficult to find this because Toronto is a bit more expensive than other places.

Does anyone have any recommendations? We're looking in Toronto, Mississauga, Vaughan, Aurora/Newmarket, really anywhere in the GTA.

Thanks!

Re: Toronto Wedding Venue Suggestions

  • Hi,

Do you mean your budget is $20,000 for a reception venue? Or are you looking for both ceremony and reception space? Is $20,000 your total wedding budget, of just the food portion of the reception?

Yes, Toronto can be expensive, but there are ways to get creative. The budget board of the knot has lots of great ideas for cutting cost. I think a lot of it comes down to what kind of wedding do you and your FI want have. Get a sense for what you both like and can afford. I would also try contacting some of the vendors in person; set up some meetings and see what they can do with your budget.

    Happy wedding planning!

  • Ideally we'd like to stay under $20, 000 for the whole wedding, but based on what I'm hearing from venues it may not be possible. Thanks for referring me to the budgeting board, I'll take a look!
  • Okay, so typically half of the total budget goes to the reception, which for your budget would be approximately $10000 for 200 guests. This may be a bit tricky. Here is a link to some recommended Toronto reception venues that are more affordable. http://www.blogto.com/fashion_style/2015/03/the_top_10_cheap_wedding_venues_in_toronto/

You may also want to look at banquet halls, as they will probably be the most affordable. One venue that could work with your budget is here https://www.eventsource.ca/kings-garden-banquet-hall

There may even be some city owned venues that could be rented for weddings, but you would have to check out the city's website. Some hotels also have large conference spaces that may work for your budget.

What kind of venue/time of year are you and FI looking for? Lunch weddings are typically more affordable than evening weddings, and some venues will be less expensive for off peak seasons (i.e. winter) or off peak days (Fridays and Sundays).

  • We had a wedding in Toronto. We ordered a photographer from the site https://taraweddings.ca/  We really liked the process of filming and the photos themselves. I advice you to address them.

  • My wedding venue is The Venetian Banquet, and it is a great place. You can have some general information at their website: http://thevenetian.ca/. Also, some wedding photos for your reference: http://www.ngstudio.ca/blog/76-liza-and-marios-white-gold-themed-wedding-in-toronto
  • I have a younger sister, and she gets married next month.
